I'm busy looking for a good Hanukkah brisket recipe. Yes I celebrate Hanukkah with my family and no, I'm not Jewish.
I find that kinda cool. And am curious how that came about.

When my younger brother was four he attended a Jewish run preschool and instead of a Christmas party, they had a Hanukkah party. It just grew into a family tradition from there.

I'm reading SoS now, what a great book!

Work took forever today.

I spent (basically) the entire work day in a small concrete box working a computer that controlled a device in a bigger concrete box and got to watch it on camera.

The work day took forever. Forunately I got to come out to go to the restroom and eat lunch. Then...back in the box.

Now it is the weekend. :-)

Since Taig was kind enough to indoctrinate me into the mysterion that is the ineffable Pet Shop yesterday eventide, is it too early yet to nominate its heir apparent?

Why, oh why did I read and reply there. <shakes head in derision>

Like a moth to a flame, when there is no risk then there can be no gain.

"Indoctrinate" and "mysterion"? I demand that you tell me what you do for a living right now!

Odd thing: Christians took the book of Esther from the Jews and left the Jews the party. Jews took the party of Hannukah from the book of Maccabees but left the book to the Christians. Yet the Jews get the "bookish" stereotype.

mine?

Woot!

I have been reading a lot of others are getting your shopping done. congrats on that.

Well, I hope to get some Christmas shopping done tonight. We (my family) usually just trade gifts with one of our siblings and then everybody buys something for Mom.

I work for a financial institution. I kind of landed there from a job fair after being unemployed for a year following a lay off from my previous job. It turned into a ten year venture that merely pays the bills.

Disappointed?

It's one of the new 4E dragons. I have embarked upon a quest to bring all the new 4E dragons into Pathfinder.

Nothing wrong with old metal. It's just hard to keep up with all the new stuff these days.
