I already said it in this thread but I'm going to copy and paste it here in the hopes of increasing my chances of making my voice heard.
Since there have been hints that Golarion novels are already in the works, I'd like to add my hope that some of these novels are written with Golarion noobs in mind. I'm hoping for novels that don't assume the reader knows anything about Golarion, and might even include some explanations about some aspects of that world. Something that will make me say "Wow! Golarion is a fascinating place! I have to get some more Pathfinder material!" Just like the Dragonlance Chronicles hooked me onto Krynn, in ways that gaming materials alone couldn't do. And I don't think Golarion experts would mind a little explanation they don't need.
(I could, of course, check out fan fiction on the internet. Maybe I will, when I get the time. Maybe someone knows of a site with a story good for newbies. But somehow, there's something different about a professionally produced novel.)

You should check out Pathfinder Chronicler which is the current home of Pathfinder Fanfic.

Your wish will be granted!

Wow.
There was a time when I participated in a thread and F. Wesley Schneider responded to the participants at large, and might conceivably have meant to include me. But this is the first time in my life that a Paizo staff member actually responded directly to me. I'll remember this day!
I guess it DOES pay to cross-post!
I don't think the novels will assume that you know everything about Pathfinder Chronicles.
I never would have thought so. However, I was hoping for a novel that doesn't assume the reader knows ANYTHING about Pathfinder.
Mind you, a year or two from now, my situation might be different. Like I mentioned on this thread, I'm still working on the "Coin" trilogy of modules to try to get into Kingdoms of Kalamar. But while that campaign setting is professionally produced, I don't find it an especially exciting place. If I don't get more interested soon, I'm going to turn away from that setting and start buying Golarion material, to see if that looks more interesting. I hope to do so in less than a year...

I demand a book about a mismatched Chelish paladin/Shoanti barbarian couple. They fight crime.
Or something set in the Mwangi Expanse. ANYTHING set in the Mwangi Expanse.
Or maybe a collection of shortstories, like an Alamo situation between Mendev and the Worldwound and a battle of wits between a slave, a genie, and their Qadiran master. Pastiches and such.
Or anything as long as it's good, really. :)
