Okay, wait. You can't be a Rams fan and make fun of my Hawks. It's just not possible. When a team is as bad as the Rams and you make fun of a team better than the Rams, I think time-space folds and we all die. Do you want that on your conscience?

Sure I can for three reasons.

1) In 2004 when the Seahawks had their first division title in the NFC they lost to the Rams 3 times that year including the playoff game. To be fair they have never lost to the Rams since.

2) At least when the Rams got to the big game they didn't choke and won the superbowl. Ok granted they lost the next one but they went twice too in a three year span.

3) and finally... well the Rams couldn't play any worse if the time-space folds and we all die. Now could they? I mean at least then they would be tieing everyone every year, or come back as zombies or something cool.

Just wanted to poke my head in here to say congratulations on a job well done guys! I haven't pre-ordered pathfinder, as I'm pretty happy with 4th ed D&D but I do plan on picking up the PDF version once there is a bit of wiggle room with my gaming budget. It's getting eaten up by some shiny new Shadowrun releases right now but it is definitely on my 'to do' list.

At any rate, I just wanted to give all you guys (and girls) at Paizo a big thumbs up. From reading the Beta it seems like you guys have put together a great ruleset, even if its not my cuppa tea.

I've got limited sympathy folks. I live in Colorado Springs (beautiful country), so I'm a Broncos fan, but I'm a Houston Texans fan too. Who do we have to kill to get a winning season in Houston?!

OT I really can't articulate how happy I am to see Paizo's hard work and commitment to the game and gamers pay off. It's great to see the good guys get a victory!

Hey, I have it on good authority from long term residents I would be marginally welcomed by the city so long as I wasn't from California. It would be a trial basis of course, with both parties able to terminate the agreement at any time.

And what if I come for school? What you going to say about that? Going to deny me an education at one of Seattle's fine institutions? That would be heartless.

At the very least I can guarantee I am a better driver than some of the people who live in that city. Love the place, but what the heck is up with the drivers?

I am in the STL area myself. Love my Rams even though they have sucked for some years now. Hopefully, we turn things around this year. I couldn't imagine being a Seahawk fan, though. They always suck =)

Umm, when was the last time the Hawks won a Super Bowl? Oh yeah. Never.

It is fantastic news. I hope their sales go through the roof. If they need additional paper for more print runs, I'm certain there are many unsold 4E books that can be shredded and turned into pulp for recycling.

:(

You do know that WOTC has sold hundreds of thousands fo their 3 core rule books, right? So despite how much I love PAizo over WOTC I think we need to "keep our eye on the ball" and realize that WOTC and 4E are still far more popular at this point in time.

Congrats, Paizo, I salute you. As Darrin Drader already said, it is good to see a company that gives a damn about customers and the game. Numbers are nice, but if you have numbers AND an ear to the fans, that is great!

To me, comparing sales of Dungeons and Dragons and the Pathfinder RPG are apples and oranges. Or Internet Explorer and Opera. They're not in the same league at all. Only White Wolf -- barely -- comes possibly close in terms sales against the world's most popular role-playing game.

The closest companies I can think similar to Paizo may be Mongoose and Steve Jackson Games.

Right now I'm looking at the long run. When Magic the Gathering was released, did anyone seeing these weird new cards show up in their stores think for a moment that the company would one day buy up mighty TSR? I see this as a sign of growth and a sign of promise. I think that Paizo has the potential to eventually rival WotC and White Wolf. They're doing the right things. They aren't there yet, but if everything being said can be taken at face value, and if the numbers in my head are close to reality (and no, I'm not sharing them), then this is significant because it means that Paizo is one step closer to being mainstream, being huge, conquering the world, or some other silly benchmark that means that the industry now revolves around them.

I'm not so sure that's true, but it's not really the point of this thread.

I am now regretting i was not more stern with my FLGS and force the issue on ordering two additional and reserving them for me.

I hate Football, let's not talk about Football ;-).

Anyway... Where were we?

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32, 2010 Top 8

I thought if you altered an amazon order it reshuffled you to the bottom of the queue?

Ah yes, Chicago. Home of such illuminaries as Tony Rezko, Roland Burris and Rod Blagovich, I could name more but I'll be nice. Funny that the Chicago supporter can't promote his city, but has to tear down the others. :-)

Michigan? Gods everyone is fleeing the state, including any athletic talent. See, Michigan, University of, or Lions, Detroit. The drain on talent has even spread to Cleveland, like a plauge. We've had an outbreak of no talent in Cincinnati as well, but Columbus is safe.

IWM is based out of Cinci though, so if you want to look for new Mini-makers it's a trip down 71.

Columbus benefits from a strong heritage and diversity in its suburbs and bordering cities. You have Germantown, the Short North, Bexley, etc.

Plus Origins is held here :-)

One of the advantages of Columbus being a 'cow town' (something the Mayor hates, but I take pride in) is that getting away is easy. Also Ohio is full of underrated history. Dawes Arbouritum is about 45 mintues away, and has extensive trails as well as a very relaxing Japanese Garden; Perfect for an 'away meeting' to discuss the eastern rules supliment. Old Man's Cave has already been mentioned, but there are also small towns rich in history.

Somerset is a perfect example. Home of Phil Sheridan, it also boasts the first permanent Catholic Church in Ohio, as well as a haunted restaurant. Nearby is the famous 'Horseshoe grave' Also in Newark (again, about 45 minutes away) are the Newark Earthworks known locally as Moundbuilders park.

Yes yes, I know, I should work for the state's Travel and Tourism division. I am attached to my home state (no, not by restraining order) and all kidding aside, it is a nice place to live and work.

Perfect place for Paizo to invest some of its 'sold out' cash.

What's the purple border indicate? It can't just indicate a Roleplaying game subscription, because I have one of those but don't have a cool purple border!

At least, I'd better have a subscription! That's what I'm counting on!

Silver Crusade

Purple is for those who have sold their eternal soul to paizo. They are not even considered human anymore but are still humanoid.

Gray is for those who have simply sold their future children. At least their first born. Sort of like the movie King Arthur. "it would have been better they died that day...." ;)

purple means subscribed to everything.
gray means subscribed to everything pathfinder.

purple is paizo's heirophant and gray is paizo's blackguards.

Edit:Speaking of blackguards..... aren't they suppose to be a full class now?.......

Will you also be doing a discrete change-log/ Errata FAQ?

That would be more useful for people lugging the dead-tree version, printing out one (possibly 2x sided) page of updates to slip in the book itself, rather than trying to dissect exactly which sentences out of 576-odd pages have changed between the hardcover and the updated PDF ...

There'll be something like this, yeah. it's not a BIG file; thankfully the errata seems to be pretty minor and easily digestible.

We didn't leave out all of the 7th level spells or forget to include magic rings, is what I'm saying. Whew!

As someone planning on buying the PFRPG, I expect errata. Just sayin'.

This works out best for myself and my FLGS. We were planning a World of Warcrack Day in September, using the old S&S books and converting them to Pathfinder. We can now prep the event for December instead, with the Pathfinder books on the shelves for enthusiastic converts ;-)

Yeah RUGBY football, you watcher of 'drama queens who fall over trying to milk a penalty and cry all the time' type football. Almost as bad a American football where the big girls wear helmets and armour to tackle, how lame is that? :p

Not that I really want to talk about rugby with the way the All Blacks are playing at the moment.......

As a reminder, here in the UK we are planning for a couple of days of Pathfinder Society games next July; okay the rules won't be quite so new by then, so this is a sort of sneaky threadjack, but please, if you are interested then comment on our date and venue *on this thread* so we can book as soon as possible.

Threadjack over and you may resume the discussion of the awesome news that Paizo have run out of books to sell (except for their GenCon stocks) much earlier than anticipated. :D

What I want to know, is why we are being teased by having the new book listed in our downloads, but not accessible until the 13th? I mean does Paizo delight in torture, was that their intent? ;-)

How nice for you. You wear bitterness so well. Did Columbus kick your dog? Where do you live again?

There are things I don't like about the city. But, overall, there are plenty of worse places to live. Like Toledo or Cleveland. <shudder>

And my interest in OSU has much more to do with academics than football. They have an awesome folklore studies program. Blue Jackets are barely a blip on my radar. Once it became apparent the team would likely never amount to much, I wasn't interested.

Ann Arbor ;)

What's this? The scar in my hand started tingling, as it does everytime someone, somewhere, starts talking trash about OSU. As a Michigan grad, I swore a blood oath against OSU (it was a graduation requirement), and I feel compelled to join in.

GO WOLVERINES!

P.S. Ohio isn't half as bad as Indiana. My god, the whole state is like a truck stop. And not one of those nice truck stops where friendly men want to assist you in the stalls. Oh no, it's one of those grimey truck stops where they sell glass tubes for smoking crack and condoms made of sand paper. Unless you are in desperate need of some cheap smokes or powerful firecrackers, I advise against entering into the state if it can be avoided.
