OK, Cosmo is going to kill me.
I've just noticed that the next product in the Chronicles subs is the much-maligned Map Folio.
Since I have no interest whatsoever in those, and I wish they died in infernal flames, I hereby kindly ask for Pathfinder Chronicles subscription to be canceled and the Map Folio to be removed from my August shipment, better known as The Big One.
Fear not, I will resume in September. And pretty please folks, get rid of the Folios. That's the most annoying product in the otherwise stellar lineup :)

How I really feel... well ... I think I'm falling in love ! Oh wait, THAT kind of "how I really feel".
Anyway, the Folios miss the mark for me both as GM and Player product.
For players, well, the maps are NOT player friendly, and having secret doors on the maps is silly.
For DM...the small maps are meh, becuase I can extract and print them out of the PDF anyway, and I usually parse them thru a GFX program and add my notes (such as: "blade trap here" or "TPK them in this room, muhaha").
The poster maps in RotRL and CotCT folios were COOL and USEFUL. The Sandpoint map amazed my players. Both maps depicted locales which would recurr in the AP and be useful right until the end.
However, the SD and LoF poster maps are... meh ... situational at best. Both cities feature in just 1 episode, not quite enough for me.
And the real problem is: as an overseas customer and a victim of shipping fees, USD-currency ratio and occasional overzealous customs officers, I really want a bang for my buck, and I really dislike being shoved into getting the Folios as part of the subscription.

I must agree: The map folios aren't particularly useful, since you can't give those maps to players. As a GM, I have the PDFs - which I use in MapTool to reveal the map to the players.
I do like poster maps, but they're so few compared to the rest.
I do think that Cities Maps Folio might be a great idea, as it has poster maps of a couple of cities. That works for me.
I agree that they shouldn't be part of the subscriptions. What do I get out of subscribing to them? I already have PDFs of the maps in my other PDFs. And they're in Chronicles, even though the APs don't belong in chronicles.
Make them separate products. If people wan them, they get them - especially now that we can add stuff to subscription shipments.

I guess it has less to do with the USD and more with your local currency - because the €-$ exchange rate is very favourable to those who have the Euro.
And unless I have something besides books, I never have problems with customs, either. As for shipping fees: I get monthly shipments, anyway, and the additional shipping cost for a Map Folio can't be that much.
Still, I'd rather not be forced to get those - or un- and resubscribe all the time.
