There are illustrations where Seoni is not by herself? Name one. She always appears alone...

Okay, in your opinion, does Seoni look better in a valkyrie outfit while flying* on a wolf or a horse?

** spoiler omitted **

no

she needs more metal armor and a heavier sword

also she doesn't looks scandinavian

a chainmail or platemail bikini would do it

they call it selective sight :P

I like the idea of wolves, most likely celestial dire wolves, Though perhaps the higher ranking Valyrie could have their celestial pegasi.

I like Xaaon's idea here. High ranks might merit a different mount.

I do like the wolves overall though.

Liberty's Edge

Just make them metamorphs with raven and wolf forms, in addition to their "natural" battle maiden form. The form that they choose to take is dependant upon the soul whom they seek...for example, if a valkyrie is going to bring a unicorn or other intelligent beast to the celestial hunting grounds, she would appear as a wolf (perhaps even a dire wolf), while if she was escorting a heralded warrior she would arrive as a maiden. Raven form is for circling the battlefield to watch for worthy warriors.

Ah, Valkyries as *vampires*, that would be new! Embracing a dying warrior and bringing him into the halls of the fallen to fight eternally takes on a new twist.

Valkyries and norns and linnorms represent about 85% of the reason I put the Lands of the Linnorm Kings in Golarion. I hope to see more of all of them in the future!

I sense an AP coming on.

Me too.. And these vikings need to be at war with the threat from Irrisen!

VIKINGS VERSUS WITCHES! WITH LINNORMS!

That would rock in ways that are beyond comprehension.

Clever.

Back when I joined the community this was just a seldom used avatar. When I created my account I chose a name to match it. I also 'watched' threads more contributed, because I was just getting back into the hobby after a long absence. I've become more verbose ever since then.

I just think Irrisen is a cool evil kingdom, and the Land of the Linnorm Kings is cool in its own right.. I have always said the tension between them would be an awesome AP.

I wonder if we will see Linnorms in the Bestiary. Eric has given me a great idea for the session I am planning on running at NeonCon.

They are. I can't pull a source out for you, but I believe it was said at the Paizo Chat, specifically, that Linnorms in the Bestiary.

Excellent.

AH! I can do one better. They're actually listed in the Bonus Bestiary preview as a monster to be included.

Does anyone know where I can find Linnorm stats right now? I'm assuming that since the ones in MM2 are not OGL, those aren't the ones that Paizo is converting.

The Exchange

I am admitadly biased, but I like the idea of some big a** flying wolves. No wings though, an at will SLA to Fly is fine.

The fact that it ties back to the roots is a nice bonus.

I VERY much like the image of Valkyries serving Gorum and riding wolves (but not winged-let them fly sure-but no need for wings). They really seem a perfect fit for Gorum more than Iomedae or Sarenrae or Torag.

BTW where are the mean dwarf-like Valkyries mentioned?

Yeah I just get a misty eyed thinking of the great art that can make.
