Can anyone give details on the spoilers that were given out during "What's New with Pathfinder"?

It was an hour long meeting wherein James and Wes went over the plot of CoT in pretty thorough detail.

video update:
I've managed to tape the following seminar/discussions:
How to Break Into Print in Kobold Quarterly
Patronage Projects from Open Design
Designing Dungeons with Monte Cook (had to swap batteries during this one, so I lost maybe a minute or two ... I'll clean it up in editing.
Wolfgang Baur gave permission for the material handed out to be posted on-line, so when I get the video converted, rendered and posted, there will be material to accompany these videos. Thanks Wolfgang!
Also spoke to Sue Cook about the materials for the Designing Dungeons seminar and she said it probably wouln not be an issue; she recommended I shoot him and e-mail, so once I get that confirmation I'll be doing the same with the material he handed out as well. Hopeful thanks in advance to Monte Cook as well!
I also plan on typing up transcripts of the video, so there will be a print version of the dialogue from these events as well.
Still have two more seminars on my list:
Secrets of the Publishing Industry Revealed - Your Questions Answered
Game Design Self-Editing Workshop by Sue Cook
Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly with taping these two and permission is given to post handed out materials as well.
Once I get the videos cleaned up and posted I'll post up a link to the site for them.

Thanks for the scoop! Any other insights gained in the seminars?
Yeah, there was some good stuff. The KQ talk filled in points of what they are looking for, what they're not looking for etc.
The PPfOD talk gave a look at the current OD projects listed (a couple caught my eye right off the bat).
The DDwMC was very entertaining with a glimpse into the mind of a creative force behind the system so many of us have enjoyed playing for so long.
Both Wolfgang and Monte are entertainig speakers. I think y'all will enjoy them ... just give me a week or two to get home where I have a machine that'll be capable of handling the rendering for what should be 4-5 hours of video.

I woke up late this morning, but was still able to get a shower and make it to my first event of the day--What's New With Pathfinder. It was pretty cool, and they were able to answer a lot of questions about where different ideas and styles were going to fit in the future. I wanted to know a bit more about the Lovecraftian stuff, but then again I always do.
Then I was able to catch a really quick lunch break before I ran the first scenario that I was running at Paizocon. I ran Hands of the Muted God by Clinton Boomer, and ran it for a table of five players that included Clinton Boomer. No pressure. As it turns out, it seemed that everyone had a blast--especially me, because the brilliant author of this scenario really seemed to have a great time and liked my running style. Thanks, Boomer!
Now I gotta go--the next seminar I'm attending is near and dear to my heart, the Pathfinder Fiction Seminar.
More later!

Sweet! Anyone have links to these sources?

Wow! Thanks Yoda.
I really appreciate the spoilers.

Banquet was awesome. We saw the actual book (it's huge). Erik (with a k) talked about the subscription. Up on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on Gary. :)

edit: There was a hella hard trivia game. My table placed 2nd (or 4th, but there was a 3-way tie for 1st) thanks mainly to the two Paizo contributors sitting with us. Winning table got $50 (in merchandise?).

There will be a DM screen as well, and the art should be up on this board already. The thickness of the screen will make it much better for travelling Pathmasters.
The banquet was great! I was at the same table with Lilith and Yoda8MyHead and our table won! Hooray for Paizocon!
This has been a great experience so far. Everybody out there: Gencon can't possibly be as cool as this. Reschedule your vacations next year for June!
EDIT: There will also be a rockin' Gamemastery book coming out early next year--320 pages of more Paizo goodness! Lots o' cool stuff coming out from this company!

I don't know... How much BattleTech, Shadowrun and True Dungeon is going on there?

![]() |

Is this the place for PRPG previews? Like that monks get full fighter BAB when flurrying? That paladins are now total evil-demolishing badasses? Half-orc and half-elf both get +2 to any ability and half-elf gets two favored classes. Cursed items are not intentionally crafted, but are the result of a failed skill check during crafting. Perception is simplified. Umm, there was more. Rum and coke kicking in. Check here for pics!

It didn't hurt any that you had the gentlecritter that runs the Pathfinderwiki sitting at your table either. :P
The banquet was awesome in spite of the trivia contest though. :) The prize for winning was NICE!
EDIT: And let us not forget the most important trivia question.
Only Sebastian has a unique pic (thus far) on this messageboard. Not counting Kobold Cleaver's "unique sm*rfatar", which was not the correct answer to the question.
So Sebastian got his very own trivia question, and he didn't even make it...

So tired...so very...very tired. But holy hell so much fun.
Also, some crazy god has posted some information on the final Pathfinder RPG.

The banquet was indeed the s~$%e and a half! Good food and conversation, and lots of laughs and cool stuff. I had the great fortune to sit between Russ Taylor and Erik Mona, along with a gaggle of other cool cats. The trivia contest was great and my table came THISCLOSE to winning (we tied for 1st, then lost out on the SECOND tiebreaker round when we could only name 3 planets in Golarion's system). I think the master of the PF Wiki was the decisive edge for the winners, but we can hold our heads (and other body parts) high with pride for our... "performance," we few, we proud, we
BRAZEN STRUMPETS!!!

I also liked that Boomer and his table kept muttering "Damn you Jason Nelson".
This amused be greatly.
We had the awesome Paizo web designer Gary Teter at our table. Him and Cosmo were fun to chat with.
All told though, everyone so far from Paizo has been great. Couldn't ask for a better company to worship. :)
Sebastian should be pleased to know that the answer to one of the questions was him.

We had the awesome Paizo web designer Gary at our table. I think he wanted to help us during the challenge, if only there was a question regarding site maintenance!
IN YOUR FACE, Boomer's Tumors!
Russ wanted it to be made known that he would be dogging Boomer all PaizoCon long now about the fact that his team finished ahead of Boomer's. Sweet, delicious revenge at last for last year's Superstar Top 6/Top 4 (and on Rob, too, since the Mighty Mutton Chops also finished just behind). But HA HA, I was *IMMUNE* to Russ's revenge because I was ON HIS TEAM!!!

DAMN YOU, JASON NELSON!

Everyone was saying that I was the decisive factor in this one, but I have to give props to my whole table. Everyone contributed and when I wasn't sure on an answer (which was quite a few times), answers were provided by others.
That said, the moral of the story is: If you contribute to the PathfinderWiki, you will win store credit from Paizo. See? I've been telling everyone this stuff for over a year now.

Now we learn why Lonjiku travelled the long miles to Sandpoint, far from his homeland and his people.
Ameiko does not have to know her status, perhaps part of the concern about her adventuring was that she would become well known?
It could even develop the context of Ameiko's mother's (name?) affair. Everything about her life having been turned upside down she was acting without the usual rules of social behaviour. She might even have resented Lonjiku's contribution to her move to a backwater and regarded her affair as, in some part, a revenge.
Now that's just guessing and probably too much of a soap-opera but it shows a reasonable scenario for how Ameiko's life in Sandpoint came to be.

From a non-RPG player perspective at the 'unveiling' banquet event, I was proud to be a part of working with Paizo last night. The crowd was great and 'oohed' and 'aaahed' at the good parts. <The book is gorgeous, by the way. Great work, Sarah!>Best of all was the continued enormous thanks that Lisa, Erik, and Jason specifically gave to the players and their feedback. A game company that listen, TRULY listens to the comments and input from the fans and players is very rare. If you, the players, didn't play the Pathfinder RPG and have passion for this level of rules and imagination for gaming, we would not have very much to work on. This goes for the maps as well! I sat at a table with a family of gamers who travelled from Florida and they were super nice and they loved the GameMastery maps...which always make me happy. I hope to see the winner this morning of the free custom map tile illustration that I donated for the auction.
Good times. I will definitely be a part of PaizoCon next year. I'm also hoping to make it to be part of the Paizo booth at GenCon, too and to see the launch of the Pathfinder RPG. Thanks, fans. If you keep buying the maps ands games, the artists will continue to create great pictures for the products.

Since I've attended, I've got to say that I am hooked and will continue to make the 2 hour bus ride each year now to this event. It's that good!
However, I was wondering if Paizo was planning on running any events at PAX this year? This convention is taking place after the release of the rulebook so that's why I'm wondering.

Not your thing ? Not enough time ? Lack of opportunity ?
Hehe. My experience in this industry has been in making the games. I worked for WotC for 11 years doing design, illustration, animation, websites, soundtracks, and even the early podcasts. I enjoy being on the creative side and making art for the players. I love the art. It's what motivated me to get into gaming. I do have a family and that keeps me quite busy on top of doing the GameMastery maps and all of the other clients I do work for...<phew>. :)

Well, I ducked out soon after my PFS session this morning (#23 wasn't as brutal as I was led to believe, just annoying in some spots), and I said goodbye to a bunch of the Paizo staff that was hanging out in the lobby as I left. But, to those I didn't get to see, particularly Lilith and Yoda8MyHead, it was great to meet you guys, and hopefully I'll see everyone again next year! :)
I also wanted to say that it was so wonderful meeting everyone from Paizo that I admire. Jason, James, Erik, Lisa, and everyone else. You guys all rock, and if I ever had any doubts about choosing PF, they're all gone now. Keep making games, and know that you'll hear more from me as soon as those Pathfinder Society open calls start up again ;)

Consider it done. I'll be including a title with the seminar name, so I can incorporate it into that title page. Is the Paizocon logo available for download (.psd, .ai or a large .jpg)?
EDIT: I did manage to record the last two of the seminars I had on the list, so we're looking at the full 4-5 hours of informative goodness.

Let it suffice to say that you definately want it.
Does anyone have it recorded on audio? (I doubt it, but there's a chance)
