Which modules are about Golarion?

Adventures

Like many here, I've become a bit of a Golarion junky and am in the process of prioritizing what to buy at the local store.

One thing I'm finding is that I can't quite tell which elements of Paizo's product lines are directly related to Golarion.

I know the Adventure Paths are. As well as the Pathfinder Chronicles line.

What about the other modules?

All of them are set in Golarion, But they are made to easily put them in any campaign.

EDIT: Oh. Should have probably refreshed this page before replying... :-P

That being said, there are a few of the earlier ones that editors have mentioned may have come out different if produced today than they did originally (looks over at GameMastery Module J2: Guardians of Dragonfall), But now that it's cannon, it gets worked around.

How is that? Did Dragons Revisited do something that renders part of J2 non-canonical?

Having a hard time of finding it right now, but I thought James said that it ended up locking up a lot of canon about dragons before each dragon's roles were fully fleshed out, which ment that large amounts of products such as dragons revisited, which should be the definitive guide, had to keep this data in mind during the writing and editing process.

Correct; there was a fair amount of right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing there, and the original draft of the module skewed Golarion's dragons into a LOT of really weird, non-traditional territory. Significant parts of the adventure had to be rewritten at the last moment due to miscommunications with the author and insufficient guidance and advice on our end.

As a result, J2's probably the only module we've done that doesn't really mesh as well as it should with Golarion. It still works fine as an adventure, but Dragons Revisited should be considered the primary source on dragon lore for Golarion. We won't be adhering to much of the elements of J2 at all going forward.

Good to know.

Overall I have to say I'm impressed by how coherent Paizo has managed to keep things. There seemed to be a lot of really hectic, spread out development leading up to and during RotRL.

Interesting I am yet to read J2, but I thoroughly enjoyed both Dragon's Revisited and the Dragon's Article in AP #4

I guess this is the dilemma when developing a game world partially through the use of modules coming before sourcebooks. I wonder if Greyhawk had this same problem too. If I'm not mistaken, they didn't get sourcebooks at the quick rate tha Golarion does, either.

I think Gygax said something on ENWorld or in one of his Dragon columns from the late 90s/early 00s to the effect that he didn't think anybody would actually want a world. So the proper nouns were just window dressing from his own campaign that slowly grew into more as it turned out people did want settings. Golarion certainly had more planning behind it than that, since Paizo knew there would be demand for a setting and had decades of hindsight that Gary lacked in the 70s.

Shadow Lodge

Basically, if it is made by Paizo and is not a part of the Pathfinder RPG line, it is related to Golarion. This includes the following product lines:

Pathfinder Adventure Path
Pathfinder Chronicles
Pathfinder Companion
Pathfinder Modules (formerly GameMastery Modules)
Pathfinder Fiction
Pathfinder Society Scenarios
