This is my attempt at a shadow affiliated fey race that is playable.

You don't have WotC's 3.x Unapproachable East, do you? There was a "shadow" template in there (obtained via a ritual by Mask's clergy) that had nice flavor and added spell-like abilities as character levels/hit die are gained.

I do, but I was looking for something similar in flavor to the Shadar-Kai, but that wasn't tied down by OGL issues.

I seem to recall a template in the Shadow Caster portion of Tome of Magic that might be plumbed for inspiration too, but that starts to pull away from the whole 'playable race' idea a bit, I admit...

Looks pretty good to me :)
Thanks.
Out of curiosity, were you going to pull from some real-world mythological sources to fluff the race out?

Some of it. The name for example is the Norse term for dark elves, or as they called them, black elves.

Alright, this time I am really going to go get some lunch.

OOOOOOOhhhhhh, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Why did you have to go and do that Gary, now I'll never get my school work done.

1d20 - 17 ⇒ (9) - 17 = -8... Tina's opponents fail their WILL saves. They remain stunned with stupid grins on their faces.

Geez, this thread is even distracting Mister Teter from productive work!

If I run FR again, I may try and figure out a way to tie them to the Dark Weave and Shar. Or I may go the 4E route and tie them to the City of Shade.

Well, this was clearly a worse time that most. And occasionally I actually do have the teensiest bit of a life. ;)

I know, I know...I should probably get that looked at before it gets out of hand... ;)
