Answer foggy. Ask again later. Much later. :)

well it is now later. Much later.
The Legacy of Fire Adventure Path has just come to a close and I am sure all is quiet in Paizonia.
Seems like a good time to give some info on AP7 dont it?
I mean it's not like you have anything else going on at the moment.

My money's* still on starting in Sandpoint and crossing the roof of the world to Minkai.
*This money is entirely theortical. I have already given all my cash to Paizo and have none left to bet with.
I thought I read somewhere that that idea had been put on the backburner due to the necessity to have/develop oriental adventures etc

No hint or teaser has been given since word came down that "Jade Regent" was no longer next in line after "Kingmaker." I imagine we'll get a peek at the first installment when the next round of product announcements comes out, which should be in October.

I agree. I don't think James will get in that spot again, after the Jade Regent hint had to be retracted.
Earliest we'll hear will be after KingMaker in early production, which should be around OCtober as Yoda said.

Jade Regent will still happen some day. It was never OFFICIALLY set to be AP7, although I'd hoped it would be. (I'd also hoped it would be AP6 and AP5 at times as well).
We DO know what WILL be AP7, but it and several other announcements are waiting for Gen Con for the unveiling.
I wasn't trying to bust your chops, Chief. I know you would have liked to do Jade Regent, and I trust it will happen someday.
(Waiting for GenCon is better than waiting for October. I don't think I'd care to go to more than one day of Gencon this year, but I still wish I could go for just one day. PaizoCon next year ftw!)

That's correct. James indicated at GenCon they had to push back Jade Regent for AP7 until they can create all the necessary support material for "oriental" adventures. They want to do that subject matter more justice than just a few articles spread throughout the Pathfinder AP books.
Instead, the new AP7 is tentatively titled The Serpent's Skull or something close to that. They just decided on the name right before GenCon, I believe.
It'll start out with the heroes representing one of several groups (e.g., the Pathfinder Society, the Aspis Consortium, the Red Mantis, etc.) all of which are racing towards a lost city somewhere in the Mwangi Expanse. They'll start out at one of the larger coastal cities near Sargava or someplace like that. And, their adversaries will be determined largely by which group they choose to represent...i.e., the other groups will be opposing them at various stages in the campaign. This technique will also be seen in the Kingmaker AP where the heroes get to establish their own kingdoms and come into conflict with different factions depending on the choices they make.
Also, for The Serpent's Skull, the serpentfolk take center stage as the primary villains of the adventure path. Hence, the title. I also asked who's writing for the AP in last night's chat and James said they hadn't selected authors yet. I'm hoping Boomer gets a piece, since he wrote that section for the campaign setting.
Hope that helps,

You know, Mr. Jacobs needs to pick up his adventure writing pen again. It has been too long since there was an Adventure that - actually - had his name on it.

And yes, the plot and location of AP7 is murky. Nothing is set in stone there yet at all.
I think james already let it out of the bag......clue: Murky.
AP7 is murky....where in Golarion do we know is.....'murky'???

The only thing I might amend Neil, is that he said the Pathfinder Society, specifically, will not be one of the factions represented.
Though indeed, there will be all kinds of other factions of various sorts.
He mentioned that as a matter of policy the Pathfinder Society doesn't come into contact with the Adventure Paths.. by editorial decision.
Of course, whenever *I* reference anything he says in chat, it often gets reversed. :) You can always hope.
