Male Halfling Rouge 1

Al will wave back to his waiting companions to approach, then slip through the archway and creep towards the first door on the eastern wall, peerking around the corner stealth d20+12=21, perception d20+6=14

Peering through the southern-most archway along the eastern wall of the nave, Al spies a wide hallway, leading east, ending at a wall 80 or 90 feet away. A window in that wall, and two open archways in the southern wall allow light in to illuminate the hall.

Near the centre of the space stands a stone statue of a winged woman. The statue is about seven feet tall, and appears mostly intact, although one hand is broken off. The floor of the hall is strewn with debris, and what looks (and smells) like animal dung. There is also a smell like beasts are housed somewhere in this area.

As described above, there are two open archways along the southern wall of the hall. There are several openings or passageways along the north wall; from west to east is an open archway, a door hanging partly open, a closed door past that, and, at the far end of this hall, another narrower hall leading north.

From the nearest opening to the north, the open archway, comes sounds of clattering and quite banging.

From somewhere nearby, to the north-east, there is a sound like hooting, and more banging (louder but more distant).

F Human (Keleshite) Cleric 1

Farasha studies the statue intently

K (History)1d20+2=20

Farasha, you are quite sure that the statue depicts your goddess, Sarenrae. The missing hand would have held a scimitar.

Spoiler:
You recall that there was, of old, a church of Sarenrae in the village of Kelmarane before its fall. You also remember vaguely hearing of an order of Sarenrae worshipping monks based in the hinterlands around Kelmarane; this may well be their monastery. As you recall, the order was somewhat non-orthodox, though there was no implication that they were heretical.

Mus'ad stays with the others as they move slowly inside. He looks at the statue for a moment, then nods towards the nearest noise. He raises his eyebrow in a clear question,.... 'That way?'

Male Human, Garundi Druid 1

Fallowing 5 feet behind all Sefu moves after the halfling, but seems to catch his shield upon the wall.

20 PERCEPTION 5 STEALTH..Think it's time to ditch the sheild :0

Al nods and ghosts towards the opening, pulling out his sling as he does so, and peers into the chamber beyond. stealth d20+12=19, perception d20+6=26

Mus'ad follows with the rest, his crossbow at the ready. He doesn't move anywhere near as noiselessly as Al or Nasir, but his nimbleness allows him to move more or less quietly across the floor. Unfortunately he is so busy paying attention to his feet, that he's not really looking ahead of him,...

My apologies, I forgot this earlier:

Prior to everyone heading over to the monastery:

Dashki begins herding the camels together as the group dismounts. “I will watch the beasts,” he says, “and watch for danger out here.”

“What of us boss?” asks the male mercenary sardonically, he and his female companion standing watching everyone else begin to head out. “Do you want us with you, or shall we wait out here also?”

I’ll take the first answer, the mercs seem happy to go with you or stay and be reinforcements as needed.

“As you say boss. Call out if you need us, we shall keep watch till then.”

Back in the present…

Al moves stealthily towards the archway from whence came the nearer noises.

Beyond the doorless arch is what appears to be a large kitchen complete with walls lined in shelves and cupboards, a huge central table, and an enormous oven against the north wall. Several drawers and cupboard doors stand askew, and the floor is a jagged field of broken glass, smashed pottery, bits of sharp stone, jagged bones and discarded cutlery.

As Al peers around the corner, two tiny manikins – ugly, dog-faced pugwampis – are pushing a large pot across one of the benches. One of them glances up and looks in shocked surprise straight into the halfling’s eyes.

Al, if you want to act before it has a chance to; roll for initiative! Standing just outside the door you are within the pugwampis unluck aura, so roll twice for all d20 rolls and take the worse result. The pair of puhwampis are about fifteen feet away from you.

Nasir and Mus’ad are close enough to see Al, but not into the room. The rest are a little behind, still in the main entrance hall.

Male Halfling Rouge 1

initiative d20+4=15, d20+4=23
Al curses silently to himself, the creatures seem very good at sensing when enemies are about. He tries to send of a sling round before they react. d20+5=17, d20+5=15. dmg d3+1=3. Im not sure on this, but if I act before them there counted as flat footed right? Which means that they don't get Dex bonus, which means it counts as a sneak attack? If so an extra 4 points of damage.

Male Human, Garundi Druid 1

Was I not right behind al?

Al is quite quick to react, but unfortunately he fumbles his sling stone as he attempts to load the weapon, allowing the pugwampis to react first. The one who saw him draws its tiny bow and ducks down, gaining some cover from the bowl it was pushing.

The halfling’s aim is pretty good … but unluckily the sling stone bounces off the table just ahead of the little creature, flying off in the other direction.

End of surprise round, everyone roll for initiative. Those further away than Al are outside the bad luck aura and need only roll once.

Sefu wrote:

Yes, if you want. Your last post said “Following five feet behind all” – I thought you meant five feet behind everyone, I see now you meant five feet behind Al.

So that puts Sefu, Mus’ad and Nasir fairly close behind the halfling (say five or ten feet), with Farasha and Bashad bringing up the rear.

Male Human, Garundi Druid 1

I can play rear guard. It was I who was not clear, sigh me and spelling errors :). No biggie

Initiative: 1d20+2=20

I'll hold to heal if needed..

Initiative Round 1:
Farasha: 20
Pugwampis: 17
Al: 15
Bashad: 11

Still waiting on Mus’ad, Nasir and Sefu for initiative.

Male Human, Garundi Druid 1

Sorry didnt know ya was waiting on me...IC hates Sefu it seems

Init: 1d20+2=5

Hmmm,... Obviously there's 'hate', and then there's 'HATE!' ;P

Nasir Init: 12+2 = 14

Initiative Round 1:
Farasha: 20
Pugwampis: 17
Al: 15
Nasir: 14
Bashad: 11
Sefu: 6
Mus’ad: 5

Farasha waits expantly, ready to assist any of her companions who may become wounded in the coming fray.

The pugwampis who first spotted Al fires its tiny bow at him, but the dart bounces harmlessly off the stone wall. The other creature shrieks, in a loud, high pitched, warbling tone, before scrambling to cover behind a shelf.

Al, make a Will save please – or rather two and take the worse result. Then your turn.

From a large bowl resting on a bench at the far side of the room, two more ugly pugwampis heads look up, apparently having been woken from sleep by the screech.

Set up: The room housing the pugwampis is about thirty feet deep and fifteen feet wide, ringed by benches along the west, north and east sides. There is one entrance / exit, an archway in the centre of the southern wall. The smashed glass, pottery and jagged stones covering the floor of the room make it difficult terrain – and it all looks quite sharp too.
Up to two people could attack at range through the doorway.
The first two pugwampis are about fifteen feet within the room, the other two are at the far side of the room, about thirty feet away from the doorway.

Waiting on Al.

Male Halfling Rouge 1

sorry didnt realise it was up to me! Will save d20+1=18, d20+1=19 Al cringes at the shriek of the little beast, hoping that it doesnt alert more of the tribe to the attack. He loads his sling once more and fires at the pugwampis who fired the bow d20+5=12, d20+5=24

Nothing seems to happen in response to the shriek (although Al’s fear of it attracting further attention may be warranted). Unfortunately Al’s next sling shot just misses the wee beastie, who managed to duck for cover at the last moment, giggling cruelly.

Alright, everyone else can post their actions for the round now, it's taking too long to wait for initiative order. What are you all doing?

F Human (Keleshite) Cleric 1

Hmm...was going to hold for healing, but mayhap we can squash these bugs quick ..what do y'all think?

I agree, the quicker the better! I just happen to have a SLEEP spell handy! And it's range is tremendous. Presuming I can get this off before any of us close in with the Pug's,...

Seeing Al hurl his sling stone, and hearing the shrill cry of the the Pugwampis, Mus'ad seems to shed his contemplative, almost fearful mannerisms, and dashes to his friend's aid. He pulls up behind Al, his slightly greater height allowing him to see into the room over Al's head. Without hesitation the half-elf chants nonsensical mystic syllables, and draws upon the magic brought to him by his faithful servant. He shapes it, and an instant later hurls it into the room. There is a silent burst and a feeling of your ears popping as the magic takes effect.

"Quickly!" Mus'ad hisses to the others. "I don't know if I got them all!"

Move to behind Al, cast Sleep into room, centered where it will catch all of the Pugs (if visible), or centered on the visible ones if not.

Mus’ad, please make a Caster Level Check to overcome Spell Resistance, can you also let me know what the saving throw DC for your spell is thanks.

Oops! Sorry, I'll update my PC info with that for future reference!
DC of my 1st lvl spells is 14.

Caster Lvl check: 1d20+1=18

When originally rolled accidentally put a +8 into the dice roller, (was thinking another PbP), kept the roll, made the proper adjustment to +1

Male Keleshite Fighter 1

Bashad will try to position himself so that while he stays in the first room , he can shoot at the gremlins with his bow while keeping far from them

How easy would this be and would I need to roll twice in this case ?

Mus’ad completes his magic and hurls the spell. The two nearest gremlins, the ones that Al has been exchanging missile fire with, immediately yawn widely in unison, then slump down to the benchtop and begin emitting high pitched snores. The second pair, sticking their heads up above the large bowl an the other bench seem to resist the spell.

Bashad wrote:

No problem, although the pugwampis will get some cover. If you are more than five feet away from the opening into their room (say behind where Al stands) you are outside the unluck aura and will not need to roll twice; go ahead and make your attack and damage rolls now if you like.

It seems that perhaps the pugwampis high pitched shriek did alert something else in this place; the hoots and grunts from the north east appear to be getting louder, although there is as yet nothing else visible down the hall.

Male Human, Garundi Druid 1

If he can Sefu will move in to attack the little beasts

13 and 19 taking the lowest If I recall so 13 to hit

If hit damage 7

May I subjest next Init we use group Init with just one roll and mods added? I do it in a few I run makes it faster. Or have the DM make all the rolls for everyone's Init and post it. Just a thought

Male Keleshite Fighter 1

Bashad move behind Al and try to fire at one of the awahe pugwampis . his arrow go wide of the mark leaving Bashad in question if he is still unlucky or not

F Human (Keleshite) Cleric 1

Farasha decideds that healing can wait. She advances on a Pugwampi and slashes with her scimitar

Double roll

1d20+4=8, 1d6+2=3, 1d20+4=14, 1d6+2=4

Man guess not ..

Those of you moving into the room to engage the pugwampis in melee (seems like Sefu and Farasha at this stage), please make Reflex saves (roll twice and take the lowest) as you traverse the jagged bits of broken pottery and glass on the floor.
DC 12 Reflex save, if you fail take 1d3 points of damage, either from treading on something sharp or rolling your ankle on the uneven ground.

As Bashad’s arrow thuds into a wooden cupboard door, Sefu and Farasha move side by side into the room, scimitars swinging. Sefu cuts the head clear off one of the mites, but Sarenrae’s favour is not with Farasha, who, off-balance on the treacherous floor, misses her strike completely.

Nasir.

Sounds good to me, next fight I'm happy to take the first roll one of you makes, with individual init mods applied.

Male Keleshite Fighter 1

Personally i've got no problem with you rolling my initiative

Nasir moves partway into the room, and flicks her whip-dagger at the creature that Farasha attached. Although she moves carefully, and does not injure herself on the debris littering the floor, she is not as lucky with her attack, missing completely.

Initiative Round 2:
Pugwampis: 17
Al: 15
Bashad: 11
Sefu: 6
Mus’ad: 5
Farahasha: 5
Nasir: 5
The things making the hooting noises: 4

Farasha and Nasir delayed until near the end of the round. Also, I’m still awaiting Reflex saves from Sefu and Farasha for round 1.

Two of the pugwampis sleep, and a third is dead, beheaded by Sefu’s blade. The last one shrieks piercingly, then tries to scramble away to safety.

Farasha, please attempt a Will save. Also, Farasha, Nasir and Sefu may all take an AOO at the pugwampis as it tries to escape. Then everyone can take their round 2 action.

Male Human, Garundi Druid 1

Sefu rolled 20 and 10 so will roll damage 2 damage

Sefu strikes at the fleeing beast

10 and 13 so 10 :)

Male Halfling Rouge 1

Seeing that the creatures in the room seem to be taken care of, AL moves to take up a position to surprise the creatures approaching from the north east.
Al will scan the area for somewhere to hide near the north east approach (perception check d20+6=16) and then try to hide there. stealth check d20+12=31
