Update-

I just bought the tickets this morning to the Con and am in the process of buying flight tickets... Anybody know if SeaTac Airport provides a shuttle service to the hotel??

Gahhh... Moot point really as I will have to call and check things out anyway.

This three hour time difference is crizzap... Or is it...4? I dwellest on the East Coast.

There is not a free shuttle, but one exists. I believe it's $19 + tip.

Thanks guys... I appreciate the help.

Thanks Neil for the Shuttle Express link... For those of you who are interested, the Shuttle Express makes regular runs and their telephone number is (425) 981-7000.

Tentative flight arrangement is that I'll be arriving in Seattle around 5:25pm on Thursday, June 11th.

I've got to receive the confirmation email yet but I'll throw in the update as soon as I get 'em.

Once again, thanks for the info guys!

Received the confirmation

Northwest Airlines- Flight 209
Arrives in Seattle at 5:25pm on Thursday, June 11th if all goes as planned. From ..cough, cough... Detroit! : P

No problem. I've got a double-occupancy room booked. If anyone's in dire need of a place to crash and can split the room cost with me for a 4-night stay, it's available. Otherwise, I'll hold it down on my own...

--Neil

If your offer still stands, I'm willing to split the cost. I'll be arriving Thursday evening and leaving Sunday evening, but I'd rather pay for Sunday and not have to move my luggage out in the morning.

I'm not in dire need, but wouldn't mind lowering the cost of the trip to some extent.

Yeah. I think we can split the cost together. Just let me know if I need to bring earplugs.

I've been known to snore on occasion. You should probably bring them as insurance.

No worries, I'd avoid it, too, and I thought it up. :D

I'm great with creating public humiliation moments and scenes, but no so great at participation. I'm more a man behind the throne, type. Although, for the record, I've yet to have someone I've shotgunned in the face apologize to me for being shot.

One can dream, though. ;)

The Exchange

I am considering the idea of sharing my room. My wife had to bow out because of schooling, and I am alone.

Just wondering if there arer spots in rooms still available...I am allowed to come yay! and thanks to the wife:)

Make sure to say what days you're coming Larcifer (and the usual "I snore loud enough to wake the dead in Michigan" or whatever).

The Exchange

I will have a room on the nights of 10-14. I will have a car that I rented. My wife dropped out, so I am in looking to split costs whenver possible.

Cheers,

Hey Zux, I won't be rolling into Seattle until the 11th unfortunately, but I would like to stay at the hotel for the nights of the 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th. If you want to wait it out for somebody who's flying in on the 10th, no worries. I can understand that.

I'm a little worried about the room reservations, even though we have another month before the reservations are opened to the public, I wonder how many are available at this time. I figure the best time to get a room will be the remainder of this month and early April. So I figure if I don't get any bites for a roomie invite in the next few days I'll have to go solo.

I don't expect anyone to cover my expenses on the 10th. That was planned because I totally dislike the idea of going to Seatle to see nothing but a hotel, albeit an exciting hotel.

From what I understand, the room block set by the Hotel for Paizo is set to cover the expected number of tickets sold. The block remains till May 21, 2009. So, I feel there is a lot of option in bowing out at the last minute. Some 20 days I believe. I could be wrong.

Regardless, I have reserved the room for single occupancy. It was like 759 bucks with the day of the 10th added on, which the hotel extended the 129 rate for me.

I am also 40 as of May 27th 2009, so that is a good thing. I am a deep sleeper that snores depending on the nasal blockage. I think I'll purchase a set of earplugs for both of us, if it get's that bad. I would not mind having a chat on another message board if you like. It would be nice to have someone at this convention to tag along with, though I would certainly not impose.

If you like, we can talk about it here. I will set up a topic in the General Forum, which doesn't require you to register. Just identify yourself in the thread.

Zuxius

Wife states I do not snore, I am 35, good hygine. I would be down for the 11-14....I do not mind a cot either, I sleep well...

Ok Zux, I posted on the Pathfinder Chronicler regarding the rooms... Sometimes that security code is damned hard to read. : )

The Exchange

I have posted on the Pathfinder Chronicler Forums site for the both of you.

I have posted a clarification, again! I hope you guys aren't joking, because it took a longtime to figure more of that crap up and explain it. Hope it helps...in your decision.

Hi All,

I reserved a room for the nights of the 11th, 12th, and 13th. Anyone care to join me? I'm male, 35, with great hygiene. I had a medical treatment a couple years ago to reduce snoring (birthday present for my wife). I'm a software developer by day, father of three by night, and spend my free time playing games of all types (board, card, rpg, or computer).

I'm looking for up to 3 roommates. Send me an email: dpoppink at yahoo.com

Derek

I just got my Visa!!!!!! So'll I'll be looking for accomodations very soon... I hope I can still grab something :D

Grand Lodge

I've got a room for Thursday thru Sunday nights at the convention site.

Mid-40's male. Willing to share with one roomie who will split costs.

Fairly quiet type (at first). I use a machine to minimize snoring.

Prefer my room-mate to also be reaonably quiet, hygenic, and willing to use room for quiet place at night.

Anyone interested (Hugo?) can contact me thru

Spoiler:

Liberty's Edge

I too have a room for Thursday thru Sunday nights at the convention site.

My stats: 31 yrs old, smelly good, no annoying habits while a sleep or awake, and dangerously attractive.

I am willing to share my hotel room with 1 - 4 women pls contact me ASAP. No cash to split cost of room necessary if suitable bartering can be substituted.

I'm in! I'm wearing a cast right now, but banking it'll be off by showtime.

I'll be driving up I-5 from Long Beach on the extreme cheap, and camping somewhere.

It would be nice to bum a shower in the morning from someone in the hotel, and I'll have my car, so some reasonable steppin' and fetchin' could be traded for a little shower in the mornings.

I could give 1, but not 2 people a ride. I get almost 40 mpg, so gas costs would be minimal. It's tiny, so minimal baggage (I gotta fit the tent and such!).

Looking to be a player only, and get a mms. critiqued.

This will be an AVENT-CHURE! :-)

I'll check back later!

This thread is awesome, I already got a place to crash!!! I'm as loud as a drunken matraca-playing mexican, so I may have to jump places every other night :P

*writes rambling scribbler offer down*

If anybody's still looking to share a room, I'd still be interested...
In the interests of saving dough, I'll be flying in early (8ish) Friday AM from the (SF) Bay Area, and flying out Sunday evening (so I'm just looking to share for Friday and Saturday nights).
Apparently alot of money is to be saved by paying for rooms at least 10 days ahead of time (no refunds)...
(If 3 or 4 people want to share a "Townhouse" (2-story) room, which also has couch & fridge & microwave, I could be down. Such a room might also be a good locale for "off-schedule" games or events like the Sketch-Jam/art event...???)

ME: I'm 30, guy, ten fingers, four eyes (sometimes), architect drop-out turned bodywork therapist, smile alot (i'm told), Con virgin... ???

email: remember <at> psyon <dot> org

Hey guys,
I'm not offering to share my room...as I snore horribly...but I just made my reservation and wanted to share some information about it.

I just purchased via Travelocity's "Good Buy" program and got an "Executive King" room for Thursday-Sunday night (4 nights) for a total of $374.04. I had to pay now and I have no doubt there'll be a massive penalty if I have to cancel for some reason - but I don't plan to cancel and this was a significant savings over the convention rate so I thought I'd share the info.

It works out to $93.51 a night (with taxes and fees included) compared with the $129/night convention rate (which I assume does not yet include taxes and fees). I was going to drive home Sunday evening but, when I saw the rate, decided to book for that night too and drive home fresh on Monday morning.

That's a good deal no matter how you look at it. Hope the tip helps someone save some cash.

I hate to quote myself. Just reiterating my availability for a cheap ride originating in SoCal along the I-5 corridor, and subsequent availability for errands or shuttling to save a few silver, in exchange for a shower somewhere. I'll have my own towels, etc.

It's been a disappointing year, overall...

Lantern Lodge

Room for a female* on the couch in Capitol Hill, Seattle. (FWIW View faces west towards Space Needle and Olympics). I'll be headed out there each day and have a ticket to the dinner. If that doesn't fit your schedule, there are buses to and from Bellevue. Compensation is negotiable ($25/night?).

*Sorry guys, but myself (and my roommate) are just not up for sharing the apartment with a semi-random internet male.

Hey, does anyone know where the townhouse lofts are in the hotel? Like, are there any lofts in the Paizo block? I'm thinking about reserving one but I don't want to get there and find myself on the other end of the hotel. Also, anyone know if there's still a few left?

If I end up getting one, I'm totally down to hosting some night-time role-playing if anyone wants to DM. I'll be there from thursday sometime to monday morning. Sunday evening seems pretty dead since events wrap up at 5 (I think) and it sounds like a lot of people might be heading home then. So one last night of beer drinking and role-playing?

Our room block is a pricing block, not a location block. I'm sure folks will be spread across the hotel. As far as I know, the townhouses are on the west side of the hotel.

Is too late to find a room with someone to share with? I'm 32 male, don't drink or smoke, and I can possible bribe people with art :)

@Jason: Drop me an email at remember <at> psyon <dot> org

I've been thinking of dropping b/c of the cost and my bank balance not being as simpatico as I had expected when I ordered the Con tickets, but I found a better deal on airfare, so if I can keep the cost of rooming low, I think I can manage it without breaking the bank.

If I go, I'll definitely want to bring some art stuff for the Sketch Jam too!

Neil,
Seeing as how the time is drawing near for the PaizoCon and your status has risen to 'special guest' since we talked about perhaps sharing a room, I just wanted to make sure I still have a place to stay at the convention. If not, I still have time to get the super cheap pre-pay rates (see this thread: Hotel Info Pricing)

I just need to know whether to reserve my own room or not.

I'm still expecting to share the room with you. I just figured I'd check in on Thursday...and then you'd ask for me at the front desk and I'd come down to meet you and give the extra key to you. Later, we'd split the cost. I was unaware of the cheaper pre-pay rates, but we should probably take advantage of that, too. Since the room is registered in my name, I assume I'd need to pre-pay it? And then you'd need to reimburse me when you arrive. Does that sound good?

EDIT: I've gone ahead and called ahead to use the pre-pay option. (I'd use it whether we room together or not). The earlier rate was $129/night (plus taxes). Now, the reservations representative says the first and last day will be $96.75 (plus taxes) and the two middle days will be $66.75 (plus taxes). So, if we split the cost of the room, we'd each be paying about $163.50 (plus taxes) for a 4-night stay. That means we save over $94 each. Not bad. I've charged it to my credit card. You can either reimburse me at the con when you check in...or, if you want to email me at my [FirstNameLastName] AT [aol] DOT [com], I'll let you know my mailing address and you can send me a check ahead of time.

--Neil

Sounds good Neil. 1/2 of the cheap rates is an excellent deal. I'll email you so I can get your address to send payment.

Silver Crusade

I'm also looking for a roommate. Is there anyone out there that does not have a roommate? I'll be coming in the 11th and checking out the 15th.

Scarab Sages

I am still attending paizocon but I am no longer looking for roommates.
