Which is why The Bard is trying to neutrilize 8th. Nothing like a Runelord to make your enemy versatile....

w00t! new page!

Hey, it looks like the battle against teh Tsar is happening sooner than expected. Sorry about that.

I saw a chance to strike and took it. Got a new item to add to my collection too...

Sorry, but I posted my explanation of why I'm handling things remotely with the Runelord over in the RPG thread, before I remembered that this one was here.
To summarise, a guy who if he can be bothered can know where you're vulnerable, when to strike, and what weapon to put you down with isn't a very fair fight.

At the moment *MOST* of his attention is taken up with the seven 'senior' Runelords - he has only been playing around with events on the RPG and associated threads (the goblin minions seem to me to be a way of indicating playing around with the edges of events in a fight). He could probably take one of the senior Runelords down, but then the others might dogpile them, and frankly if you're dealing with wizards famed for personifying Pride, Lust, Greed, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, and Gluttony, it's best to watch all of them, pretty much all of the time.
Please don't invite him to pay too personal an attention to a character!

At the moment I'm working on the assumption that the Wraith Lord will simply *poof* the moment Kobold Cleaver is restored in any way, shape or form, but if the battle to get him 'back' takes too long then he might become too 'real' to simply be vanquished by restoring the normal balance of the boards.

I only posted that because I like a little after-story in an RPG.
With all the possiblities the future can hold, and the endless versatility of water, I think the fight could be fair. I also do not think divinations can pierce an antimagic feild...

Yeah, Esmeralda is planning on destroying him./ Nobody has ever really seen her utilizing any spells other than healing and stuff, but rest assured, she is powerful enough to be a nasty threat to the Wraith Lord.

In and out tonite, probably be in a better position to post in a few hours when wife/kids/animals have all been fed/played with/spent quality time with. Might post a bit here and there, but prolly not big time until laters.

Okay. I'm probably going to be a bit distracted myself for the next couple of hours. I need to get some dinner and do the housecleaning I was supposed to do early this afternoon. I'll check every few minutes, but I really have to get this stuff done. Yech. And I can still smell the bleach I had to use to clean the basement.

Well, damn. I gotta go. Will be back in an hour or so.

To try to be clear, various goblin posts made under the Eighth Runelord alias are goblins carrying out errands for the Eighth Runelord, following his orders (or at least attempting to follow what they thought were his orders).
Exactly what The Eighth Runelord's goals are with seemingly random posts are known perhaps only to him and to Kobold Cleaver.

Well that's my excuse, anyway... :D

Well, you could always make an alias for fluff text spoken by no one in particular, like this one ...

OK question. Why is everyone slapping immobilization devices on the Steel Tsar?

Patrick Curtin wrote:

I think they want to keep him from repairing himself.

Hmmm. Well, he becomes a much less fun opponent if he is immobile and wounded.

Why did you have to assume that Meepo would be 'dealt with'? He will be a bit more hard to beat than a few words. He isn't a fool, he came prepared.

Umm.. you never IDed him. You just said 'a kobold'

EDIT: you DID post under Meepo on the second instance, but at that point it was getting into a trumps-match with the runelord.

I did X
I countered X!
I counter countered X!

Yeah, sorry. Point taken. Nevermind, then.

KC, I intend to play it that what's contained in the vial is the knowledge of how to destroy a goddess. After all, what could be more dangerous than that? Basically she's going to use the backlash from that as a weapon. Does that match what you're planning?

Actually, it was supposed to be the strength and magical power. But yes, she might also acquire knowledge of the goddess's weakness.

Also, sorry for screwing over your character.

Hey, it looks like the final battle's gonna happen soon. The normal Defectives are all dead. If everyone's here, I'll bring in CL and the New & Improved army. Otherwise, we should do it tomorrow.

Okay, I've read the spoiler in the other thread and what you have planned here, and I think you don't really 'get' GDK. She pretty much wants to blow up the universe and will use any means (including seduction) to make that happen. Even the other evil gods were glad to see her limited. Giving LJ a piece of her personality would be BAD. I can see KC having been tricked by her into thinking otherwise, but if that's what happened here you're going to require intervention to prevent it. Which I already acquired earlier. Basically, LJ has a sort of 'divine buffer' on her personality right now. Not trying to screw over your plot. Just giving my point of view on what's going on.

I know. KC couldn't get the goddess to give him the power, and he couldn't force it from her. He made a deal: She would give him the power, but with part of her personality. He chose what he deemed the least harmful: Lust.
What he did in return is unknown.

Okay. No worries then. I can play that as intended. There will be a bit of internal conflict, but ultimately the power given to her by Sunny G will hold.

Or, what happens if the power and lust are given to Candle Lighter (when he shows up?)
Undead are usually pretty passionless.
Would that conflict destroy him?
I have a goblin minion of the Eighth Runelord in the air now; I can suggest that as a plan of the Eighth Runelord to Lynora if it might work?

He'd probably just be immune, actually. They're immune to mind-affecting things and enchantments, odds are they can't feel emotion no matter what.

Nice try. ;)

I would think being filled with the lust of a goddess goes a bit beyond regular mind affecting.
However Candle Lighter is your alias and if you don't want that to work on him, I won't suggest it.

Was Rio on the 'tragic doomed heroes' list? Is it okay if the Wraith Lord chops him down? If not, I'll leave him butchering pokemon and making firewood.

I think Rio is a big deal for DB3. When he isn't here I would reccommend against it.

SO KC ... what do you see as Candle Lighter's end?

It looks like it'll be a while, since some people are offline. It depends.

Okay, I'll leave Rio alive then.

Do you want the Steel Tsar to go down under the Decapods?
Unleashing them on the field is a bit of a nuclear option, as they'll eat almost anything if there isn't any metal around.
If the Tsar can't cope with them, they'll go for anything else around after they're done with him.

Hey the concept is inventive. I was going to let him suffer, but Lyn inadvertantly helped him out with her wind power.

I figure someone is going to hack ol' ST apart tonight. Lets let it linger for a while though, eh? ;)

Gah! You got lucky with those winds.
I adapted the decapods from the Countdown to Doom computer games of the 1980's, where you ended up running away from the things at some stage, or getting them to occasionally eat problem creatures for you.

Well that's about it from me; the Wraith Lord is locked in stalemate in the forest, Spotty just lost interest with all the meals he couldn't get at and wandered off, and the Eighth Runelord doesn't have anything left for now.
I shall keep an eye on things.

Right, then.

Also, in other news: The Boards are still borked up! :D

Digs around in aliases. Oh wait. I forgot I had that one.

Lemme guess!

The Witch guy!

Nope. A satirical one I created to use on 4E threads or the playtest threads when the flame-wars were on, but never ended up posting with.

Do something clever if you want to get rid of the Flame Troll. It's not terribly bright and for that matter other-planar if you want to try to banish it in a really spectacular manner.

OK folks, gnite. I had fun. Make an inventive end for CL! Later!

Hope that works for your troll

Gotta go soon. This was fun.

Well teleporting it off the battlefield (or better yet plane-shifting), dumping it somewhere else, and nipping back will certainly do.
It actually has a vulnerability to genuine succubi, and is probably a servant of the Eldest Elemental Evil of fire (home-brew nasty) but it doesn't have any planar transport capacity, so can't get back any time soon (if ever) unless someone else moves it by magic.

Everyone, move to this place. Say '/join rpg'. Then begin. Just say '/nick ______' whenever you post for a different character.

E7 serves the One Tree, so I can drop him off on some asteroid or uninhabited plane. Let him go hungry for awhile, with only his flames to keep him warm. You can pick him up whenever you need him again. I'll be back in the battle at some later date. I dislike lording over other people's creations. More comic book ideology than fantasy.

Wow! Great adventure. It was a shame we cooked the boards though.

Yeah, you lose a lot of the description in the chatroom. I tried to put some of it back in in my transcription, but obviously that was only events from my point of view.

Yes he is a big deal to me. He is the main chracter in a story I'm posting on other sites(he starts out weaker than he is now) and I would prefer it if he doesn't die. What happened was sort of fluff...

looks at most recent posts.
I never said they were dying, just that they couldn't keep flying.

Yep. One other thing is it gets very disjointed with all the different messages popping up constantly. Any how, now that you're free of the goddess, how else has your character changed? Are you still going to be a champion? Do you still have wings?

Oh, and just for the record, KC, I'm glad to play along with a storyline even when things aren't going my way, but please next time ask me ahead of time before you decide to mess up my character. I could have told you, (and tried to tell you a couple times beforehand) that the personality change things wasn't going to work. LJ isn't as stupid as she looks. (Most of her acting stupid before was due to constant memory erasure. Girl's got an 18 wisdom.) She anticipated GDK doing something just along those lines. (And GDK is my character too so you really should have checked with me ahead of time. I might have been able to suggest a more effective tactic.) I tried to play along with it, but the chat is not conducive to those sort of descriptions so it kinda fell flat. Sorry about that.
Anyways, I'm glad that her going nova wasn't enough to kill Candle Lighter. It would have been a total letdown if one person was able to take him out.
I'm sorry if the above sounds a bit petulant. It wasn't meant to be. I just got really annoyed that we had to interrupt the action for me to tell you something that I had already told you in this thread earlier today. And, as I have also stated a couple of times in this thread, I really needed to wrap up my part in this for awhile this weekend. I won't be available much tomorrow, and then I'll be on vacation, so I won't be able to post nearly as frequently as I normally do. I needed to get to a spot where LJ could step out of the action for a bit without the world falling apart.

Yeah, she's still the wind champion, and she still has the wings. The wings are seperate from the champion thing. She'll always have those now. Once she was free of the goddess's direct influence she started turning back into what she was before she was made into the goddess's prison, which is to say a half-celestial. Don't know what the other half is :)Now that she's really free, she'll probably let her mischievous side out to play more often.

Working on a transcript of the chat....

Charles, check the Roleplaying Thread. I already put one up.
