Just for kicks, I can show you an online video of my Boston Terrrier Wilbur helping himself to apples off my apple tree. He's a pretty dexterous little dude.
2 things.
1. That is a "TERRIER" which is not the dog represented in the DMG, which is more like a Germain Shepherd if I am not mistaken, but it is definatly not that small breed of dog you have there. The smaller breeds are naturally more dexterous than the larger breeds.
2. Even your smaller dog is not as dexturous as your natural born average cat. Link
I don't know about dogs in the DMG, but there are 2 types in the MM... Dog and Dog, Riding. A dog is a small animal between 20 and 50 pounds. A Boston Terrier is well within that range. German Shepherds are definitely of the Riding category.
And Cats suck. That's why dog spelled backwards is god!

Funny thing about critter stat blocks is, most seem to forget about the ones in the DMG pp 200-204 (familiars). Fun critters such as ferrets, mice, thrush, toad (for gnomes and hobbits), the more usual suspects for improved familiars and fun ones such as leopards, monitor lizards, ravens, man-sized vipers and wolverines for Huge creatures with a familiar.

I don't think we're doing anything inappropriate for minors. Miners are another matter.
If the timing works out as it seems it should, thinking I can bring some hard copy with me with finished Pawfinder (or as close to that as Doombunny & I can get) to Paizocon for those who are curious.
Datasticks ... makes a note to cram a box of them into his carry-on bag with the laptop
Doombunny, do you think you'll be making it to Paizocon '09?

As of this morning, I am really doubting it. But by then you will have some hardcopy from me, along with a miniature 'standie' of me that you can put on any table you go to.
There is always a chance I could make it, though.

I have a variety of white rabbits with sharp pointy teeth (among other plushies) I can use as your stand-in I suppose. ^_^
