Yeah, I know I'm under a little. I'm still tweaking the character and haven't decided exactly what to do with the last few points. I forget how resources works. Do you spend points to have a wealthy PC because I'm thinking my character is fairly well off.
P.H. Your math seems off too
17pts-abilities
14.75pts-skills
7pts-feats
80pts-powers
24pts-combatadds up to 142.75 pts
which means your under by 7.25 pts

A character’s base Wealth bonus is +8. The Benefit feat provides
a +4 Wealth bonus per rank. The Profession skill grantsa bonus to Wealth, +2 for 5 or more ranks in a Profession.
You're welcome to increase your wealth in these ways
WEALTH BONUS FINANCIAL CONDITION
+0 Impoverished
+1 to +4 Struggling
+5 to +10 Middle class
+11 to +15 Affluent
+16 to +20 Wealthy
+21 to +30 Rich
+31 or higher Filthy rich
Wealth bonus reflects your buying power. Every item and service has a
purchase Difficulty Class based on how expensive it is. To purchase
something, make a Wealth check against the purchase DC. As a general
guideline, the equipment purchase DC equals 10 + the equipment’s point
cost. The GM sets the Wealth check DC for any particular purchase
A Wealth check is a d20 roll plus your current Wealth bonus. Wealth bonus is
fluid; it increases as you gain Wealth and decreases as you make purchases.
If you succeed on the Wealth check, you purchase the item. If you fail,
you can’t afford the item at this time.
If your current Wealth bonus is equal to or greater than the DC, you automatically
succeed.
If you successfully purchase an item with a purchase DC higher than
your current Wealth bonus, your Wealth bonus decreases by 1 point for
every 5 points the purchase DC is higher than your current Wealth bonus
(1 point for 1–5 points higher, 2 points for 6–10 points higher, etc.). Lost
Wealth bonus returns at a rate of 1 point per month.
you might also want to spend some points in the Equipment feat, to reflect equipment you have normally.

ok names we need one
The defenders
Freedom city defenders
Freedom avengers
The justice councilNone are very good names
so lets add to the list and pick a name
Personally I like things with Council in it... Maybe The Freedom Council or We could stick with The Justice Council. I am getting to work on my character now and since we have one character that is a devicer I may look at another option as opposed to the Samurai one.

I've just decided to have a place in the character's history where the "spirit" from the mask and him finally merged. I am thinking during the invasion, and the original mask was "destroyed" but the spirit was able to join with the character. This gives me the same character concept but he will now have the powers in himself.

You're math seems to be right Shisumo, but you have 5 pts spent on your toughness save, and you dont buy your toughness save
you can, however, instead spend those 5 pts on a power such as Protection or Enhanced Trait(Toughness)
It's because he's a construct. Constructs buy Toughness (see pg 149 of M&M 2E).
I like The Council, but Freedom Council sounds too much like we're actually the city government.

Ok Allies of Freedom was a A WWII super group...none made it past 1947
shadow is an over arching evil group made up of left over Nazi ss high ups
Freedom is a node toward the old groups
also the WWII era freedom league was called the liberty league

Captain Invincible would much rather belong to the Freedom Brigade than the Shadow Council, and since I kick in money for our marketing... I mean if I had it my way we would be Team Invincible or the Invincibles or Captain Invincible and his Amazing Friends!
Heh wealth rank of 32...think i out rank ya there

I like Freedom Brigade or Liberty Council. And the Shadow Council does sound like we would be "bad guys". Lawrence (The Samurai), the district attroney, would never join a group like that! I say we call a vote here so we can get the team name fixed and the DM can put the game up!
My vote is for Liberty Council!

Fair enough.
(For my money, "Liberty Council" seems a little awkward and, well, passive. Councils hold meetings. "Liberty League", "Liberty Brigade", "Liberty Squad", "Scions of Liberty", "Liberty Agents" or even "Lifeforms Intent on Battle, Efficient Rescuing, and Terror-Yanking". ("Yanking"? "Sorry, couldn't think of a better "Y" word. Yawning, yelling? What other verbs start with 'Y'?"))

Yabby, yacht, yack, yacker, yacket, yaff, yaffle, yain, yam, yammer, yamph, yandy, yap, yappet, yar, yard, yare, yark, yarken, yarn...
For the record, I agree with Chris about the passivity of "councils" versus other types of groups, but not enough to make an issue out of it since it seems to be okay with most everyone else.

I'm getting bored of talking about it. I'm out of the discussion now. You guys pick what you want, and I'll be fine with it. Later I'll have some of my PR people form some focus groups and conduct some public opinion poles and we can see how the public has been responding to our name selection. Then we can either leave or change it, and we can get to work on our merchandising.

I would be ok with vanguard
as for council. Well I would see us as a council. We would have meetings, we would work with the public much as the JLA do. There would be press meetings, meeting to discus action or how to deal with this or that threat. Meetings with tech firms and other heroes, meetings to lay out who patrols what area's, meetings to talk about things found out or things that need done.
A super team is not a one man operation, there are always meetings, and planning and talk, more talk and endless talk it seems.
Thats why
1 I am ok with liberty, justice freedom or what ever council
2 I want that big table

We may indeed do all of those things, but our name should be about who we are, not what we have to do along the way. Brigades, leagues - these are things that do things. Councils... counsel. They are about speech - quite literally, all talk, no action. We should have a name that reflects action, not talking.

Shisumo wrote:Sounds good, though I think I prefer the plural (Vanguards) to the singular.A vanguard is a group of people. Someone is "in the vanguard", like being "in a brigade".
In some circumstances yes, but those are derivative of a positional meaning, where "in the vanguard" means "at the front of the attack," along the lines of being "in the bow of the boat." And as such, you can have one person there or several; more importantly, however, each separate unit has its own vanguard, meaning you can have multiple vanguards across an entire army.
