We recently switched my Planescape campaign over to Pathfinder and the monk's player is about to take his first level of the Tattooed Monk prestige class from Complete Warrior. I'm seeking opinions as to whether or not the two classes' levels should stack for the purpose of increasing the character's ki pool. The Tattooed Monk's class description naturally doesn't touch on the subject.
Are there any other tweaks that should be made to the tattooed monk to bring it in line with Pathfinder?

The complete warrior states for the Tattooed Monk: Monk Abilities: A tattooed monk’s class levels stack with his monk levels for determining his unarmed damage, AC bonus, and unarmored speed bonus.
I would say the Tattooed Monk levels count towards his ki pool total. Although I might abstain from adding special "spend a ki point and..." features to the tattooed monks abilities.

Yes, but those abilities aren't the ones that cost ki points. A case could be made, I suppose that the tattoos could be given ki point costs, and then that the ki points would continue to accrue with every other Tattooed Monk level.
My rough guesses would be as follows:
Chameleon, Full Moon, Scorpion, Sun, Tiger - 1
Arrowroot, Bamboo, Bat, Bellflower, Butterfly, Dragon, Dragonfly, Lion, Spider, Tortoise, Wasp - 2
Crescent Moon, Nightingale - 3
Centipede, Mountain, Unicorn - 4

Adding points to the ki pool doesn't also grant the new abilities the core monk class gains at higher levels. The conversion of the tattoos to ki point costs just simplifies the mechanics for their usage.
But a case could be made either way the DM cares to rule it.

I'm actually having a similar dilemma with an Enlightened Fist. His abilities are currently tied into stunning fist uses which can easily be switched to Ki. The thing is, I am loathe to add more of a strain onto his Ki Pool. I feel it's already too small before adding additional ways to utilize it.
To your question - I think his abilities should be tied into the Ki Pool, I just don't think that monk's Ki Pool is big enough.
