Kael and Brother Seamus,
~As Arien tells his tale, a pompus, pampered noble passes by him and then shakes his head sadly~ More of your tall tales, Arien? No one really believes you. I for one think that your tales are all made up as a way for you to get attention and money. ~he sneers and drops a few coppers at Arien's feet~ There. Keep quiet with your tall tales and let us drink in peace! ~Arien mumbles~ Sorry, Lord Granger Flitwick! I will keep it down. ~but he still gets the coppers anyway~

DM Sharoth wrote:~like she is going to keep this little fast talker out?~Idiah,
You can wake up at anytime. You are in a room with Merian and Priapus (if Merian lets him in, that is).
You mean the one who refused to answer her question and then tried to push past her into a room where there is a woman who was recently attacked by people Merian doesn't know?
You might be surprised.
Priapus |
Priapus and Merian,
~Ixnay purrs in delight while in Priapus' arms and then looks at Merian and tries to get free to see an old friend. Ixnay remembers you, Merian.~

Yeah but I have a nice cuddly ball of teeth in my arms just trying to get to see you.
Plus when you notice I am doing no harm well it just makes it easier.:)Aldan |
Aldan,Tess winks back at you~ Anytime Handsom. Just give me a call if you need anything.
After Aldan finishes his dinner, he'll signal the waitress that he's done. "Say, I'm new around here, and don't know much about the lodging. You wouldn't mind showing me to a room, would you?" He smiles slightly.

~Tess winks back at you~ I can show you where the rooms are, but I can't leave here for too long. My shift doesn't end for anotehr two hours. ~she escorts you to where the rooms are~ Here is a good one. Nice and clean. ~she smiles at you~ Perhaps we can meet after my shift for a few drinks, handsom?

Merian steps forward to block the gnome's entrance to the room after an answer like that, but Ixnay's presence in his arms stops her, and he ducks past. Listening to the gnome's words, she decides he likely is a friend, and Ixnay's purring reinforces that. As the psuedodragon wriggles free and flies over to her, she catches it, stroking and scratching as she crosses the room to the woman and the gnome. "That wasn't much of an answer, my little friend," she says, handing back the pseudodragon. "I am Swordlieutenant Second Merian Benvalla, if tht will loosen your tongue."
DM Sharoth |
Is this 'fight' happening in the dining area? I'm sorry, it seems i've been oblivious to the other PC's actions till now. What does my character see happening in the dining area?
~The "fight is actually happeneing upstairs in one of the guest rooms. You hear the gnome mistrel talking to a woman. Tess smiles and pulls you past the quarrleing people.~ That is one of Lady Chauntessa's friends. Let us leave them be.
DM Sharoth |
Kael and Brother Seamus,
~you two notice a tall, regal woman with white hair coming down the stairs. Everyone greets her with profound respect and she then goes to the bar to talk to the bartender. She smile at the 7 and a half foot tall Half-ogre and asks how are things. The Half-ogre smiles a tootheless smile and says all is good. She then peers aroudn the room, checking everything~

"I'll be waiting." He smiles. After getting settled in the room, Aldan is going to ensure that his belongings are secure from would-be thieves. Then he'll take out some paper and scribe some notes for the next couple hours.

It seems you have the words to stop Priapus from speaking at all~looks at the tall woman with jaw dropped clutching Idiah with fear in his eyes~

you see Arien turn his head and give an almost paranoid look over his shoulder before resuming his talk~ I am telling you, I WAS taken captive. I was a candlemaker in Canorate, when my wife and daughter died. ~he hold sback a sob~ I then sold my shop and became a monk. My order sent me here to do some research into the history of Castle Whiterock. I was take captive on the journey here na dsold to some orcs. ~he gestures to one of the waitresses~ Some more beer, Tess! ~Tess rolls her eyes and then says "sure." before going off on other duties~ I was beaten and threatened with being sent "down below". I managed to escape and coem here. Why will no one believe me?As Arien tells his tale, a pompus, pampered noble passes by him and then shakes his head sadly~ More of your tall tales, Arien? "Well, my shady friend, we shall find more information, reliable or not, should we ask." Brother Seamus reaches over to Arien's table and taps it quietly. When Arien looks over, Seamus gestures to an empty chair at our table.
"What order? Where were you taken? Tell me more about the slavers."

Aldan,
~about one and a half hours later, you hear a knock on your door. You open it up and it is Tess, who has washed up and changed into some non-barmaid clothes~ I talked to Valarie and she said that she would take my last hour. I got clean and came up here to see if you would like to come with me downstairs?

"Food, for thy time. Better than food, for honest details."
Brother Seamus,
~Adian looks at you as if he has gained a moment of clarity. He shakes his head as if to clear a fog.~ Food sounds good, but so does some drink. ~he looks like a sad, broken man at that moment~ I joined the Order of the Dawning Sun as a novice. We were dediacted to the preservation of lore and knowledge. Our order had once had a monastry called Clynnoise in this area over a thousand years ago...
~You all hear a mocking laugh from Lord Granger Flitwick~ Lies! ~says Lord Granger~ He is just trying to get free food and drink from you two! Don't be so gullible!
~Adian flinches from Lord Granger and gives him a fearful look~
Idiah |
The sound of arguing reaches her ears and Idiah wakes up. The pain in her back seems to be greatly diminished. She turns her head and tries to focus on what is happening.
She is in a bedroom, and a gnome and a woman...a different woman than before? are arguing. There is also some kind of dragon-lizard purring in the gnome's arms.
would I know what a psudodragon is, or should I roll a knowledge check?

Idiah,
~Ixnay jumps down from Merian's arms and saunters over to you, purring all the while. You can almost tell that there is a keen intellegence behind those lazy eyes. She jumps up on the bed and looks at you, almost as if she was verifying that you are ok, and then she snuggles up to you, purring even louder, if that was possible~
Idiah |
~Idiah strokes the scales of the creature, and thinks about the state of her own scale mail.
It will have to be repaired.
"Hmmph," she mumbles. The gnome is right next to her now and she wonders if she should say anything since he looks like he is starting to get upset.
He's smilng at her.

Brother Seamus |
" Lies! He is just trying to get free food and drink from you two! Don't be so gullible!"
All right. Change of plans. Flitwick may be right; he may be a fool; or he may have a very real interest in our not finding out what details Adien might be providing. We don't know whom to trust. But we can't find out during this interview.
Seamus turns to the nobleman and inclines his head in hat he hopes is a proper bow. He replies, "Be that or be it not, this man is answering my questions. I would think that a Lord wouldst know courtesy and wait his turn to speak. But, if His Lordship is so hungry for his own chance at bread and meat that he must needs give his statement now, my colleague would be happy to see His Lordship to a private room and direct victuals therein."
Seamus has not actually claimed to be on official business, but that's the clear implication. Bluff.
Brother Seamus |
To Kael, in Undercommon: "That could have gone worse. Thou mightst wish to keep an eye on His Lordship."
To Adien: "Apologies for the disruption. Thou hadst joined the Dawning Sun as a novice. Where wert thou stationed?"
Seamus is trying to draw the long version of the story out of Adien. At times, he'll stop and ask about a detail: when did this happen, where was the attack, how long was the man held prisoner, what kind of work did the orcs have him do.
It's not an interrogation; Seamus doesn't go back and ask the same question in different ways. But he's trying to give Kael enough time to see how much of the story is reliable.
DM Sharoth |
Brother Seamus and Kael,
~After Lord Granger's words, Arien is hesitant to talk for a while, but after some food, he does start to talk. He talks about his wife and daughter, but after a while he stops that because he is almost to tears. He then talks about his hope to help learn of the fate of the monistary that was lsot. Eventually, he comes to the point where he starts to talk about being captured and sold to the orcs. About his mistreatment by them and then how lucky he was to escape. He mentions his fear of being sent "down below", as some of the slaves had been, never to return.~
