It is easy enough to find small pots and such, nothing the size your looking for, climbing to the water below and filling buckets is a full round action, coming back up be a move action. Note this will put you 2 full rounds from now. No roll needed for the clock it will put out 1d3 points of fire/round it will need to make a save for catch fire it's self. Lamp oil is hard to put out like that last time I tried it it stuck to the blanket.

Bean wrote:

Bean looks around for something to put the fire out with (if he doesn't see anything on a free action check he'll use his cloak).

1d20+7=11

what sort of roll do you want for putting the fire out (probably with his cloak, ack!)

"Make sure your cloak is soaked before trying to smother the fire, I've heard stories about oil fires where they need to be both wet and smothered to extinguish such fires," Reg mentions to the others.

GM

Wetting the cloak will also take 2 rounds as you climb the 15 feet down to the water below. Do keep in mind that the croc is bleeding and something got that halfling

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

could we just push the burning stuff into the water pit?

GM

The burning stuff would be the bed, cheat and junk that littered Lamms room. By this point it's been going 2 rounds. Putting it out without magic or help at this point is iffy to be honest. Bean and reg can cut the time down to 1 round[per water bucket] working as a team but the water has dangers

"Let's do it one of you push that croc in to distract them whilst we're getting the buckets filled!" Reg says grabbing a bucket and moving to fill the first bucket of water.

"We need a chain here if we're going to put out that fire!" Reg explains.

M Human Sorcerer 1

Keen is wondering what's taking everyone so long... and does a quick search of the room above where Teelos was killed.

Male Human Fighter/1

Placing a firm hand on both Bean's and Reg's Shoulders, Elric's Voice Booms." Let's not be ridiculous my lads, there aren't any buildings close enough to be damaged, and once the building is sufficiently burnt, it'll fall to the water below putting itself. It can't spread. If either of you want to join the fire brigade, you can do so once we get out of here. I suggest you come along." Elric moves past them, tugging them just for a moment in his direction before moving to exit.

Reg doesn't resist but he can't help feeling he should have prevented the fire in the first place.

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

Bean nods at Elric's words, "I suppose you are right, and we must take care of those children, they must be worried about everything that is going on. Let's go Reg, there is little left we can do here."

GM

The group hurry's from the building ushing the children to safety. You watch as the building is consumed by flames and stats to fall into the water. Not many folks seem to mind, however a yell of fire can be heard and it seems someone. But the street seems eerily silent . You have a feeling it's like something is happening and you do not know what. But change is in the hot humid air

Actions?

Keen

Spoiler:
You manged to find 12 gold and 32 silver while ransacking the place

Reg makes sure everyone made it out, before helping with the kids since they'll need a new home.

M Human Sorcerer 1

Keen's face is bright, not quite cheery in the firelight. For the first time a bit of a smile plays across the corner of his lips.

"Lets head back to the fortune teller's place and see if we can't unravel this a bit. I'm curious who her twin is and why she didn't tell us about it."

As he heads down the street back towards the Seeress' place Keen takes a look around to see if anyone is paying unusual attention to him or the party: 1d20+3=11

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

"We should get the children something to eat, I imagine they are hungry," Bean suggests.

Male Chessentan human Paladin/Rogue 1st/1st
Bean wrote:

"I agree," Reg nods back and checks his belt pouch noting where he's stored his money.

M Human Sorcerer 1

Keen pulls out the silver he found. "I found this on my way out, along with some gold, I was planning on dividing everything up when we got back but we can take care of the children first. Are you planning on caring for them all or was there somewhere you were going to take them? Perhaps leave them at an orphanage and donate some gold for upkeep?"

Keen shrugs, not much more than a kid himself he's pretty clueless about what to do with the lot.

Loot related

Spoiler:
FWIW Keen has little interest in hoarding the treasure. Here is an inventory of what we collected, most of which is in his bag:

  • A dagger and handcrossbow of excellent quality
  • A small wooden box, with a well used harrow deck (Reg? or Euph?)
  • A narrow teak cigar case inlaid with tiny bits of jade ,
  • a 2-pound gold ingot bearing the Cheliax coat of arms,
  • a miniature gold crown
  • a fist-sized scrimshaw carving of a kraken with garnets for eyes
  • a silver ring bearing the inscription “For Emmah—the light in my nights,”
  • a highly realistic and highly scandalous ivory figurine of two entwined succubi,
  • a masterwork shuriken,
  • an adamantine arrowhead,
  • an abalone-shell holy symbol of Shelyn,
  • a tiny glass tube containing some kind of oil,
  • an obsidian wand, (Keen)
  • a crystalline vial containing a silvery substance,
  • a bejeweled brooch with a broken clasp

12 gold and 32 silver

I miss anything? Keen isn't very good with money so maybe when we get back someone can appraise?

GM

Whats the plan. The kids could be let lose, or taken to a city run orphanage or even the red knights temple. Let me know what you guys plan to do and we'll get this arolling

Female Air Genasi Wizard 1 (Conjurer)

Seeker;

Spoiler:
As V spent a while with the kids, are any of them of 'odd' heritage? (mixed or monsterous blood) as if there's a child unlikely to get a home if it's taken to the orphanage she will take it in.

The Red Knights sounds like a plan for the children, Euphegenia needs to take her charge back there so she can make some inquires. Someone should also let the authorities know what we have done, scum bag like Lamn probably is wanted by them, so his death might be worth a pat on the back.

We also need to bury our fallen halfling.

M Human Sorcerer 1
Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote:

Keen doesn't see much downside to the kids getting loose....

Keen will let Reg and Euph take care of the children and see if he can track down somewhere to arrange for a funeral for Teelos. Maybe Elrick or Bean can go with him?

Can we assume he is able to find somewhere and make the arrangements without incident and meet back up at the Seer's house in a couple hours? The funeral will likely be the next day I'm guessing?

"I don't have a lot of coin beyond the coins recovered from Laam, perhaps we should sell some of this stuff to pay for the funeral and make a donation to the orphanage? Anyone know what this stuff is worth?"

Appraise checks I guess then

Dm:

Spoiler:
The Shelyn item I believe sounds like a holy symbol as I think there's a deity in Golarion of that name

Reg will be helping the kids as from his point of view he was in similar state to them not that long ago and feel obliged to make sure they're okay and check on them after all they're going to need someone to rely upon them rather than just dump them on just a church's benevolence...

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

there is, the closest god to shelyn would probably be either sune or sharess (imo). Which temple was I staying at locally?

"If some of the children go to the Red knight I don't mind, though I think the local temple of (sune/sharess whichever one I'm staying in) may be able to house a few too if need be." Bean offers, "Does anyone know who the halfling worshiped? I would like to make sure he gets the proper blessings for his faith."

GM

As you come to the edge of the docks you can see something horrible has happened. Korvosa is in flames. Smoke rises on the horizon. The frantic clang of alarm bells sing out in harmony with a multifarious cacophony of screams, the clash of steel on steel, moans, and even the periodic detonation of arcane power. A wing of Sable Company griffon riders swoops overhead, angling toward Castle Korvosa at a breakneck pace. One of the badly wounded mounts rains blood down on the street around you before it succumbs and crashes headlong into a statue, taking its rider and itself to a bone-crunching demise. The others in the flight do not pause to check on their fallen ally. Amid the chaos, the voice of a Korvosan herald cuts through the din: “The king is dead! Long live the queen!” only to be shouted down by ragged cries of “Hang the queen!” and
“The usurper whore must die!” Through an alleyway, the party even spots a contingent of The order of the blackhand clad in dark iron armor and horned helms pursuing a small gang of what appear to be looters. The city has gone mad while You battled Gaedren in his lair it seems.

Ok what is planned here? you splitting up or staying as a group. And I can't believe I missed the holy symbol, make it Sune.

V

Spoiler:

two of the children seem to be a bit of outcasts.one has reptile like eyes and the other a girl two fingers on each hand. A birth defect perhaps

Female Air Genasi Wizard 1 (Conjurer)

V remains quiet for a long moment as the others discuss what to do with the children "I believe most of the children are more than capable of deciding whether they wish to go to an orphanage or not." She concludes "Although these two" She points out two of the children on the edge of the group "will be coming to live with me if they wish it"

Offering no further axplaination she looks out over the sights and sounds indicating chaos "But first I think we need to move them all to somewhere safe. Who's home or place of work is closest?"

M Human Sorcerer 1

"We should go to the Seer's place."

Male Chessentan human Paladin/Rogue 1st/1st
Keen wrote:
"We should go to the Seer's place."

"I agree if nothing else it would make a safe haven whilst we wait out the insanity before us," Reg nods back.

Reg will help the group head back but will stay with the orphans to make sure they're okay so if they're left at the Red Knight's temple he'll stay there whilst anyone else heads on to the Seer's place.

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

Bean looks around him at the chaos, "Yes I think the seer's house would be a good place to start for now."

Bean helps corral the children in the appropriate direction.

Male Human Fighter/1

Elric growls at the open chaos. Not since his days as a mercenary had he seen such things. He took two steps forward towards his shop before looking back."I must protect my home and shop." He says simply in a booming voice before proceeding towards his home.

Female Air Genasi Wizard 1 (Conjurer)

"To go alone would be unwise" V informs the tall man flatly. "If you wish to keep an eye out for your property it may be a good idea to take another with you"

"Does our route to the Seer's place go past either of your shops?" Reg asks.

Male Human Fighter/1

"V You're welcome to come along, as are any of you who wish to follow." He tells the group."Mine and V's shop are very close and it might be best to take the children there in the current state of things. With all the chaos-traveling with a large group of children, it would be easy to lose one in the condition Korvosa is in. And we certainly don't want that. Once It calms down a bit, we can take the children to a safe place, as that is our priority, and then we can visit the seer." It's a lot for the somber man to say, and for a moment, he seems surprised at the flow of words. Deciding to act in the best interest of the group, He waits there for a response.

"Fair offer, how about the rest of you?" Reg nods as he looks at the others for their reaction.

M Human Sorcerer 1

Hakeen glances at the children with passing interest then returns his attention to the growing chaos in the city, his eyes lingering on a burning building in the distance. "The Seer's, the blacksmith's, it makes little difference to me, Laam is dead. We can puzzle out the Seer's problem later."

Hakeen moves to follow Elric.

GM

As the group makes it down the chaotic streets, there is a laughter , a sinister laughter as three small winged devils swoop down toward the group cackling and mocking calls as they fly toward the children

"NO YOU DON'T!" Reg hollers launching himself between the plunging devils and the children.

Attacks the first two making sure he's between all three and their intended targets, his shortsword attack rolled a 16+2 for 18 to hit devil#1 and if that does hit does 3+2 for 5pts of damage, the second attack which is on devil#2 with the dagger rolled a 10+1 for 11 to hit which undoubtedly misses however since Reg got to react before their first round does he get an opportunity attack on them or do they just don't count their Dexterity to their AC and would Reg's Aura of Good help in any way? boy am I full of questions today?!

Male Human Fighter/1

Elric shakes his head and turns to strike the dastardly demons.

1d20+5=18

1d12+4 =16

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

Bean casts Divine Favor then moves up to intercept one of the devils.

M Human Sorcerer 1

Keen will use his wand of Magic Missile to zap the closest one. Then closes in on the nearest one.

Magic Missile (1d4+1=2)

Euphegenia shakes her head at the folly of humans, "such short lived, easy to ire creatures, never would you see Dwarves acting so."

The swooping creatures catch her some what by surprise and she takes up a defensive position in front of the children, readying an attack if any get in range.

"Bah imps! This city be a den of evil!"

I assume they are imps from the art work in the Korsova city guide book.

GM

As he wicked creatures swoop in, Reg moves forward and attacks seemingly unable to hurt the fiends. tow of the creatures fly toward reg, one jabbing him with it's barb2hp two others go after the children two scream and one collapse after being stung in the neck. Elric moves forward slashing one mighty with his ax, the fiend screams, as V and hakeen both blast at the monsters with no effect.

Just then tiny dragons come screeching from the sky they barrel into the imps in groups of 3 biting and stinging the outsiders. blood and wings fills the air and the group must jump back or be caught in the fray, soon the imps take to the sky with the dragons close behind them. SO your left in a empty street with two injured children and chaos all about

1. reg ya can only take a 5' step and two weapon attack as it is a full round action. The aura of good does not make your weapons good aligned so no it wont help there sorry. Euphegenia it might be the same pic I stole it from the blog, V I want for ya

Ok what now?

Female Air Genasi Wizard 1 (Conjurer)

Chanting a few words V calls upon the planes to protect the children, summoning a protector into their midst. Her, some may argue unorthadox, choice is that of a celestial monkey.

Have the stats for it in V's profile, I can roll for it or you can I'm easy either way but I'm thinking a smite is in order.

GM

Well one is injured badly from Elric and the dragons(sounds like a 60's band) but they are flying off, so up to you

Female Air Genasi Wizard 1 (Conjurer)

Well as V believes in Vengeance she'll launch the monkey at the injured one, if nothing else it will make her feel better.

Thanks didn't notice the 5' step and wasn't sure how the aligned weapons thing work since I have always assumed it was the wielder's alignment that decided the weapons' nature.

No, but by raw any supernatural attack you make, say smite would be both lawful and good for over coming aligned DR

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

Seeing that the children are injured Bean gets them together and uses his wand to heal their wounds, and what is left of Elric's and Reg's wounds too.

(using 4 charges, 21 left)

1d8+1=6, 1d8+1=6, 1d8+1=6, 1d8+1=5

I goofed, I've cast one more spell than I got for today. I blessed earlier, cured light on elric, and did divine favor last round... the easiest solution I got is to turn that divine favor into a touch of good used on myself. Sorry about this, I got my profile updated so it won't happen again.

Male Human Fighter/1

Elric places his axe on his back and Picks up two of the children."Let us make haste!" He shouts, running off towards his home and shop.

M Human Sorcerer 1

Keen follows Elrick, keeping an eye towards the surrounding areas for other surprise visitors.
