Once more, I love the crossover! My two favorite campaign settings taste great together!

Truly! Great work, Mortellan! I love the dialogue and the personalities of the deities, and the humor related to Golarion tidbits is really ingenious! Bravo! You know you're on to something when you can make a Chelaxian dwarf smile and laugh out loud... ;)
I wish you'll eventually publish your strips as a book (graphic novel), because it has the same kind of quality (IMO) as 'Order of the Stick' and 'Knights of the Dinner Table'.

I would have to say that I like the accidental god, Cayden Cailean, the best. Wine, beer, song, having a good time, what's not to like? :) Plus, anybody who takes a wrong turn while drunk and wakes up a deity is gold in my book!

I can answer this one, I believe. Because the strips use IP from WotC and now Paizo, he can't make any profits from them, because that would be copyright infringement. However, doing the fan thing on a website works from that point of view. Which is too bad, because I would love a book form too. :/

What Lisa said. Yeah I don't know why I beat myself up making free comics. Maybe paizo could steal me away from Greyhawk to do Golarion comics. Hah! At any rate I have been fiddling with doing a PDF compilation of my strips, once I learn how to do that better I'll let y'all know.

Thanks Asgetrion! Those are both comics I love (and have parodied) as well and I like anytime someone puts me in their company. Plus I would like to point out to any aspiring webcomic artists that you too can make a popular webcomic all you need is a good premise and good writing. OotS is just stick figures! KotDT is merely copy/pasted! My comic is all the above and the kitchen sink. What makes them stand out is the writing and subject matter.

Very true -- I don't know why I didn't realize it immediately myself (being a librarian who is interested in IP and copyright laws). I think Mortellan could change the names and get away with it, but that would not be the same thing (except for those who knew that, say, 'Torgruth the Lich God = Nerull').

Eh I agree. Especially since it would be a parody comic of a parody comic, how recursive!

Hmmm... now that you mentioned it, your work is actually a parody in a different medium (comic strips). I'm not entirely sure how U.S. copyright laws approach parodies and fair use, but around here I think you *could* publish your work commercially without needing the permission from the original copyright owner (although it would be considered impolite not to ask them). Also, your work shows enough originality to be considered a derivative work, and thus is protected by copyright work as an original piece. However, under no circumstances could you publish a direct comic adaptation of, say, the adventures of Gord the rogue.
Anyway, that's how it would work in most European countries, I think; take it with a grain of salt, though, as I'm not familiar with the U.S. copyright and IP laws (and, again, I'm a librarian and not a lawyer).
