Evansville, IN... I can get down to Murray, KY in about 2 hours...
still don't know that seeker would want a hug from me though... maybe my wife, but I don't share her.
aww your no fun. Yep thats right at 300 miles or just shy of 5 hour trip. still that makes ya the closest player by a huge amount i think.

I wanted to give you a lot of advanced warning, I am away on holiday for 8 days starting the 19th December, I am also away for a few days at new year.
We go to a small cottage on the side of a hill at the base of some mountains, there was never any internet there last few times I went, so I doubt it will have it this time.

My thoughts on this:
1. We have a 'man on the inside now.
2. Get elric in there before he causes them to bleed to death with his rancour alone :D
3. Have a follow up group that can save everyone's butts if something goes terribly wrong.
I'm going to play up the "donate to an orphanage" angle to get us in the door then let the fighters have at it, with the mages moving in behind us they can immediately target trouble spots without having to worry about not getting hit themselves, and Teelos can use the confusion to make the most of his rogue talents (i.e. random sneak attacks), and help sneak children out if need be.

Euphegenia |

(first post got eaten so I'll post it again, frigging post monster)
Euphegenia has posted her thoughts, just for the record, she is built to take a beating, that is why she has 25HP at 1st level.
So if you ever need anyone to hold a position while the others do there thing, she is your girl (or women of a certain age in this case).

Abraham spalding's Bean |

(my turn to feed that stupid post monster!)
I realize, that's part of the reason I'd personally want her coming in second, she can fill the gap if anything happens and I don't have to worry about it...
and largely my selection was role playing centric this time, Reg knows the most about the workings of this place therefore offers great combat ability and knowledge, and Elric is a bruiser wanting to bruise something... normally I would go with Euphegenia with those two as the front line with Bean as "second string" with Teelos and our two masters of the arcane, but Bean is a better talker than Euphegenia and thus gives us a better chance to get our foot in the door, in my opinion.

Sorry I've been quiet. Things have been a little hectic and I think they'll continue to be, especially with Christmas, my birthday & New Years so if I don't get around to posting for a while feel free to move V around (same goes for Whisper Seeker)

From Jason,
Sorry everybody. I am military and due to changes in my work I have lost access to my unrestricted internet. I will be unable to post for the foreseeable future. I had to give my sister my username and password for the forums, just so she could post this for me! I hope you all understand and that the game goes on uninterrupted. My apologies for being unable to hold up my end. Have fun.

still here... what where they playing? For me that's the big question, if we just lost our frontline or all of our arcane power then yeah one replacement would be nice.
Yes I suffer from gamer's disconnect syndrome some, until yesterday I only knew another player at our weekly tabletop game by his character's name... and we've been at that game for a year now. It's just one of those things that never came up... and given enough time I tend to forget anyways.

So we have Sorcerer (Keen), Cleric (euph), Cleric (Bean), Fighter (elric). I think we'll be ok, Hakeen doesn't mind getting his hands dirty and the clerics will likely get in on the fighting too but overall I think we're alright. If we stumble across a rogue we won't say no.

Reg Darkwintre |

ok we have lost one player, if I do not hear from kayos and hopeless by tuesday gonna mark them as out as well.....
ok that leaves 4 would you like a replacement if we have 4 ?
Whoa!
Sorry about that had spent so much since I last posted it removed the highlight which I was using to remind me, everything okay?Hope everyone had a great xmas and new year!

Welcome back Reg.

I think the fighter twohander could be fixed by 1. allowing the fighter armor training to count for shield and armor , and two better shield feats.
However the new twohander feats stack with power attack, if ya use the old one ouch
the channel I like but maybe they get it too often, and undead should not flee, think I will change the flee to shaken

Reg Darkwintre |

My feelings:
1) Fighters using two handed weapon are scary now, they might of gone too far.
2) The curing is slightly too powerful, have more than one cleric in a group and any encounter becomes a nightmare to challenge them.
Apart from that I like it.
What worries me is what they planned to explain why this is so!
I've just noticed that the Celestial Sorceror can actually heal good aligned targets once per day with their Heavenly Fire routine, it has no effect on neutral aligned foes so is the smite evil of the sorceror class except they can use it each round against evil foes if I understand that properly.

Abraham spalding |

On the paladins...
I'm playing one in another thread, I grabbed 18 Str 16 Cha and left everything less around 10 (wisdom is an 8) first feat was Extra Smiting, second was overhead chop with power attack coming in at 3rd level (when we get there)...
So far without smiting, I'm +5 to hit, 2d6+8 damage... at level 3 I'll be looking at: +4 to hit, 2d6+14 damage on "normal" targets or +7 to hit same damage... level five will bring in weapon focus.
However I look at it and remember that around level 10~15 I'll not be able to get full attacks in regularly (more than likely) and even if I do I'll have to be careful with the power attack (using beta power attack does make it more dicey), if I had a way to get to them without giving up paladin levels, I would be interested in the Rapid Blitz and Bounding Assault feats, but I doubt that will be happening... Maybe I'll try and get a Long Hammer from complete Warrior (? Adventurer maybe?)...

Celestial sorcerer's ability isn't that great, the damage is 1d6+1/2 level and doesn't work on neutral targets which is pretty limiting. The fact that it gives them ranged healing is quite nice though.
Paladins are maybe a bit crazy good against evil outsiders and dragons, but against neutral creatures they are like weak fighters.
Rangers are similarly awesome against their favored enemies. The dex bonus to damage is pretty nice, combine that with composite bows and weapon properties and archers are going to be really effective, even more than previous.
So much depends on the enemy you are facing.
