Update:
We have confirmed offers up through Pathfinder #21.
Wow! Paizo rocks hard! I mean the company, the workers, and most importantly, the community! This is inspirational. I wish it was like this everywhere.
I keep imagining one of the Paizo employees standing in a superman-like superhero pose, yelling "Paizonians, assemble!" lol

HOLY SMOKE GUYS!
This is really inspiring and humbling!
I go tomorrow to St. Louis to see about going back to school. Ugg school loans at 40! There's a school there that has a two year Respiratory Therapy program.
I had planned on doing Radiation Tech, X-rays and stuff and later work up to CAT scans and MRIs. But I spoke with the recruiter at the hospital and there is a glut in those fields. I figured it was still imaging, just a different type...
But with Respiratory Therapy there is a severe shortage of techs. Just about guaranteed a job, according to the hospital recruiter. But I have to get the education first. And I would live two years away from my wife. That would be real hard to do.
So, I am going to see what happens. Nothing is set in stone.
Then there is always the Prison Guard job. Good money but not exactly what I had hoped to do. But you do what you have to do.

For what it's worth, my wife once spent a year in France working. (I was doing field work in the Caribbean when not runnung lab analyses on the samples, so I didn't even get to visit her during that time.) I know that doesn't make it any easier, but the point is, however hard it might be at the time, it's not impossible, and in the long run it's unlikely to damage your relationship, either.
Best of luck, whatever you decide.

Hey Krome, I'm a St. Louis resident myself. If your in the area and need any local help feel free to drop me a line either through here or email. Wild0ne(at)aim.com Even if its only a place to crash for the night versus spending a night at a hotel. And.... on the off chance you end up being in the area long term, a gaming group to play with :) we play D&D 4e and Pathfinder on alternating weekends

Krome, I'm looking for a job too, only I just graduated with a BA in English. I think it is awesome that you are considering going back to school and working in medicine, despite all the hardships of loans and living away from your wife. I don't know if I'd have the courage to do that. I think it is WONDERFUL how members of the Paizo community have volunteered to pay for your Pathfinder products. You are a very valued member of the messageboards. Keep on posting and enjoying Pathfinder!

Krome, don't undersestimate yourself or settle! I 'finished' my BS in 2004, after a looong absence. Just paid off the loan this year. The biggest thing it did for me was wake my brain up. It's a good feeling.
Best wishes!

Krome,
Sorry to hear about your recent job issues. Hope things are on the right track now.
Recently there have been a number of posts/ threads claiming the community is not as friendly as it once was etc. Well I think we can put that one to rest. Like all family's we fight but when it matters....
To those who have helped out with Krome's Pathfinders, I salute you. You are very classy people. I only wish my finances alowed me to do the same. For now I'm afraid the best I can do is offer my best wishes.
