Garroth stabs his foes damaging the moving corpes who fails to land a blow once more on the bobbing monk. Jax fails to land a blow and takes a gash across his chest5hp The 3rd undead hammers away on the door.
Ok guys new round

Garroth slices at his foe taking the undead things head off with a brutal slice, it plummets toward the ground below as the now limp body hangs in the air, the magics that gave it unlife gone.
Synatria dives at the zombie at the belly door but misses and takes a slice as he passes 4hp and feels a cold burn from the black mist coming though the cracked door2 hp while Joyelle puts a bolt into the things eye but it seems as if the mist around it empowe it somehow and it pays little mind. Jax hammers away at his foes doing no real damage as the thing cuts into the dangling changling 3hp On the top deck Traige is brought up to speed by Haedric
Ok guys new round, 2 undead left below and one is not longer bashing the door thanks to Synatria and Joyelle

Synatria gasps as the mist touches her. She freezes, then glares at the zombie.
"NO! Not again!" She lunges, full of anger.1d20+1+4 (action point)=19, 4 damage.

Garroth sees the one fall, only to notice one other shrug off a nasty crossbow bolt. "You failed in life, and now you fail in death!" he bellows as he lets loose with a vicious dagger blow to the undead.

Jax takes the head from his foe with a savage slice, the headless corpse floats in the air like a macabre marionette. Joyelle opens fire but misses the mist covered undead, both Synatria and Garroth land solid blows on the mist enshrined foe only to feels strength leave them as there hearts slow and the air escaped them from the mists cold embrace 5hp each The Undead menace heedless of dangers pulls a glowing crystal from his satchel "Now you all die !' He bellows in a cold voice
Ok new round folks. Triage you may go for the last round and this one as well Synatria you and Garroth may take AoO's on the last undead but will take damage from this mist
| Jax of Cyre |
His mouth gaped in terror for a moment at the appearance of the crystal. He struggled against the rope but soon found it wasn't long enough for him to reach the undead at the bay. His eyes narrowing he threw the dagger in a desperate attempt to sever the rotten hand from the corpse.
1d20+6=19
1d4+3=7
"Synatria, assist Garroth in pulling that crystal outta those cold dead fingers!" He barked hoarsely.
Can you aid another on disarm attempts? i'm not sure...but that's what i was suggesting.
| Synatria Silven |
Synatria doesn't even cry out as the mist touches her again.
My action depends on whether Jax succeeds. If not...well, they all have fly tokens on their belts, right?
Synatria glares at the zombie as he pulls out the crystal. However, her eyes narrow. She ignores the crystal, and slices at his belt, where she knows/hopes the fly token is.
She provokes an AoO for attempting a sunder, first of all. Note that she has 7 hp. left.
1d20-3 (light weapon)+3 (Action Point)=20, Damage 1d3+0=3.
I figure that's the most damage I can deal anywhere.
If, however, he succeeds and severs the crystal...
Synatria smiles grimly. "I think we shall not die from your hands, abomination!" She slices at him once more.
1d20+1+4 (Action Point)=23 (natural 19), Damage 1d3=3. Critical Confirm 1d20+1=21, Double Critical Confirm 1d20+1=11. Total Damage for Critical 4, Total Damage for double critical 6.
I swear I'm not making this up.
| Garroth Ur'Than |
Garroth grimaces as the mist touches him, and he feels its effects. However, realizing what Synatria is doing, Garroth also aims his AoO at the thing's belt and token, hoping to send it to the ground with its crystal ..
last action point (1d6=3) [ooc] attack = 19, damage 5
| Synatria Silven |
Well Jax will hit, but do little damage, And yes they have the tokens on the belt. Humm Your first attack is an AoO is your 2nd one also aimed at the belt?
Hmm...I'm not sure, I forgot about that, sorry. I guess it's aimed at the belt too. Can't hurt.
| Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Qrick thinking by Synatria and fallow up be Garroth sends the Zombies belt loose and the undead soldier plummets to the ground below the crystals glow marking the way with a flashing light. Both however feel the bitter bite of the mist leaking from the hold4hp but for now it seems the battle is over

Back on the ship, Daurros corners the kobold. "Can you fix the hole in the ship? If so, do that first. After that, you've got some explaining to do."
Synatria cowers before Garroth's anger. "I-I can fix it, I think. I'll need to go back out there, though. And if the mist touches me, I'm not sure I'll survive it again."

Hmmm ... noticed I may be confusing my Seeker PbPs ...
Garroth yells over to Haedric. "Can the ship fly with the hole in the hull?"
| Haedric Korvin |
"All the lift comes from the ring, but..."
Knowledge(Engineering), will this still fly? 1d20+7=20
| Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Yeah the ship can fly as long as the ring is fine. The damage is very, very, very light just a few cracks in the belly door. But as the mist is gas like and well black ya can see it leaking easy. But no it has no bearing on the ship. Another note airships with full rings(like 90% of them) do not land. they hover floating 10 to 15' from the ring edge off the ground. They do not need crew for this as they just float. The do have anchors and mooring to stop them from drifting. Crew is just needed to control the ship and maintain it.

Garroth's eyes turn immediately into ice as Triage reports his news. He noticeably flexes his fists several times, and seems to be trying to keep his anger in check. Finally, he speaks to Synatria. "You will place all of your weapons on the deck in front of you. And you will be placed under arrest and turned into our superiors when we get back to base, in order to face a court-martial. Would someone please bind her?"

"Don't touch me. I did a stupid thing, it's not treason." Synatria glares at them defiantly. Then she hears what Joyelle says and looks astonished. She quickly grows angry.
"So. You didn't trust me. I suppose I was marked the minute you saw I was a kobold! Or was it that I'm a gatekeeper?" She spits in Garroth's face.| Garroth Ur'Than |
Garroth calmly wipes the spit from his face, although it is quite obvious he is only barely succeeding in restraining himself. "I did not accuse you of treason. However, your actions very clearly endangered the lives of your squad-mates and the mission itself. Karrnath has a new weapon of some kind, and we need to get it back to base for our people to analyze it. Gross incompetence is a court-martialable offense.
"Although, the fact that you immediately lept to the conclusion you were being accused of treason is telling. I believe an old Cyran poet said, 'Thou dost protest too much.'"

Synatria glares. "It was no Cyran. It was a goblin of Darguun. And all my assumption tells is that I do not trust you to act fairly. Indeed, it would surprise me greatly. You're nothing but a bully, and bullies are all predictable."
She stares at him with total fury in her beady silver eyes.| Jax of Cyre |
Busy tending to his own wounds, Jaxon largely ignores the conflict at hand. Once he wraps a particularly grievous gash across his upper arm he stand's swiftly and walks to the middle of the group calmly." I wont be having this squad fall apart after we captured an unknown Karnath airship and an experimental Karnath weapon and sent a load of those deadheads to their graves."
He is smiling widely now, His hand moving to rest across Garroth's shoulder." What a victory we have on our hands." He shakes the monk slightly, perhaps trying to jar a smile from his angst filled head.
Turning to the Kobold he frowns."Joyelle was simply following an order from me Synatria. That's what must be done in order to function as a unit. Orders must be followed for the best of the mission and Cyre." Moving calmly towards her his face looks a bit more firm now-The smile all but gone now."Garroth is right I'm afraid. You have endangered the mission and all of us. I'll have to ask you to remove your weapons and give them to me."
Jax takes another step forward now. "I trust you not to use your magic against your comrades, so I see no need to bind you. I recognize that you have made very stupid mistakes but i will not send you on a suicide mission to repair those doors. I hope and believe that perhaps you have learned a lesson from all of this and that you can be a better soldier in the defense of Cyre. But That's not a call that I or Garroth or any of us here have the right to make. You'll have a fair trial once we reach base Synatria. "
Turning Swiftly now to the rest of the group He looks first to Garroth " Get a hold of Cyre with that Squawk stone and inform them of our... unique situation."
"This mist is leaking out pretty slowly but i doubt it's infinite. It'll stop eventually...But we cant just fly this into camp and let the mess flow through and turn our wounded into boogie men or whatever this thing does. I suggest we drop anchor a safe distance from any large population-And let it all air out. Once that's done, We'll take this thing home and let the eggheads have a look at it."
| Synatria Silven |
Haedric goes back to glaring at Synatria. "Kid, shut up. Either take that rage and direct it at just one thing, or shut up before one of us get sick of it and throw you off the ship."
Synatria's glare changes to a look of annoyance. "I'm older than you, you moron!"
As she hears Jax speak, she hesitates. "Alright. But why take my weapons? I'm not going to use them against any of you! I don't like you all, but I helped you against the undead. When I got the fly token, I could have just fled! Instead, I decided that I'd take out the undead. So, I see no reason why I shouldn't keep my weapons."| Garroth Ur'Than |
I get the feeling KC likes to antagonize my characters! :-)
Garroth, who would have absolutely no issues with dumping Synatria overboard, decides to remove himself from the discussion before he acts on that. Retreating further back on the deck, he will remove a sending stone and contact the base, informing them of what happened (including Synatria's actions), tell them they are proceeding to base, and then waits for a reply/additional orders.

Well, he's so easy to bait, I couldn't resist!
I'll bet the DM is just watching with bated breath, hoping to the gods that Synatria won't run away and separate the party! Or, worse, start fighting the others (though she'd lose, she has no spells except mending and has no weapons but a dagger)| Garroth Ur'Than |

Well, first with Rolly, now Garroth ... certainly livens things up! Maybe the next PbP with you I'll build a kobold-hunting ranger; that should really get some conflict going. :-D

Yeah, and I'll make a ranger-hunting kobold.

"It's just regs, Synatria. A soldier under court-martial isn't allowed to bear weapons. It's the same standard for everyone."
