Once Runelords is Over

Liberty's Edge

Does anyone have any advice on wrapup once Runelords is over. My Crew will most probably want to keep playing into Epic Levels. Anyone know of any intersting higher level adventures once Runelords is over

Yeah I want to know the same thing we could work togther to try to make some great epic stuff

I was thinking about having them take on the World Wound

Liberty's Edge

why not to ship into the eye of Abedengo? i have the Theory that inside there its the mistery of what happened to Aroden...

If they're bored, let Mhar out. }>

The worldwound's indeed a nice place for high-level adventurers to get the want for slaughter of lots of monsters out of their system. They might even beat back the chaos a bit before they're all messily slaughtered!

They've dealt with one Runelord, but all seven had plans for coming back. Now that the runewells went active it might not be long before Alaznist makes an appearance, for instance.

What about some excursions into Leng or Kadath?

What about trying to solve the mystery of what happened to the lost colony? I have some ideas if you need them.

I'm at work right now, so I don't have my notes with me. I will post them up when I get home.

I look forward to it.

Thanks for the Advise Folks.

Worldwound and the Eye are both good choices.

I'm not certain that Paizo have published any high level adventures yet, for Golarion, if that's what you're looking for, so I'm afraid that it is likely a case of homebrew something yourself, or adapt something else from another source, such as the pages of Dungeon magazine.
That said, there are posters on these boards able to assist with ideas (and to argue over minutia of the setting, whilst you look on in bemusement) if you're looking to homebrew.

If you wanted to continue with the Giant motif and not design from scratch, Dungeon published an epic level adventure about an evil clan of cloud (or storm?) giants in a floating cloud fortress years back. I think it was called "The Storm Lord's Daughter" or some such. I'll have to see if I can dig it up to see if it could easily be tied in to the Runelord theme.

Are you referring to The Storm Lord's Keep? It is in dungeon 93 and is an adventure for level 21.

Also as been stated I think 6 other Runelords could make a heck of an epic campaign, ESPECIALLY if they all were to awaken, and learning that one is down and someone is gunning for them, they teamed up.... Now there's some epic stuff.... And consequently what I hope happens in my campaign when I get to run RotR :P

It's not exactly epic, but I have toyed with the idea of either a vampire lord who seized control of the Lost Colony, or maybe a psionics adventure with the colony having fallen under the control of mind flayers or intellect devourers. There could be an entire culture that has grown up worshiping psionic abberations. Or maybe they became Elans and cut off all contact by their own will. I have actually been researching some of the stories about the lost colony of Roanoke and been seeing what kind of Golarian spin I can put on them for ideas here.

Team up? Hell no. They'll want to reinstate Thassalion - with their respective realms being the ruling province. They'd fight among themselves with reawakened armies and arcane power while at the same time wreaking havoc in the region of former Thassalion and around it.

Players would have to content with marauding armies of giants, magical creatures, dragons, golems, and who knows what, to take out the runelords one at a time (that way, it makes more sense for them to be encountered alone. If they really teamed up, they might stick together and go for the PCs as a team. And you don't want 6 high-level-to-epic wizards and their respective bodyguards to come for you together. )

That's true, but I could see team ups and betrayals, secret pacts, etc. coming into play making it "Who's doing what?" kind of play with the pcs both enemy and ally for all of them at one point or another, with betrayals abounding.

Depends on how much conversion work you want to do.

Dig up the old Bloodstone Wars series of adventures (I think it starts at 16th, though they are 2nd ed), at the very least cheap PDFs are floating around.

Modify the location and let the PC's go. You will find some truly epic stuff in those adventures.

But like I said, there would probably be a bunch of conversion work.

That's the one. I checked the Dungeon index.

Now I wonder which box its in...
