Black Tom |
As you continue your criss-crossing the woods and the more urban-oriented of you start to grumble rather audibly, you suddenly hear a clear voice ring out: "Are you lost, perchance?"
Spinning around you spot a young fair-haired girl with twin braids and faintly elvish looks standing a short distance away. Remarkably enough she is flanked by two pet wolves that growl at you.
Juliare |
Juliare smiles at hes sister-of-race :
" No , thank you but we were actually looking for you . I'm Juliare and me and my companions are trying to win the reward for the bandits. The woodcutters nearby told us of you and we hoped you could tell us what you know of this forest . "
Juliare |
What do we want to know ? Everything , I Guess :) What are the dangers , the places to avoid , what kind of creatures live there and so on . About creatures , we met some green creatures with spears some time ago . would you know what they are , they didn't speak any language known to us .
Clark Freeman |
Clark is careful not to approach the girl and her wolves. "Gilda is a beautiful name. And these are certainly marvelous animals. Are they more pets or friends?"
Untrained diplomacy check 1d20+3=8 Somebody get this angry wolf off me!!
Brock Brightmore |
Brock turns his head sharp at Thrakhir and puts his hand on his shoulder,
"Be kind Thrakhir. We have learned of two peoples we should stay away from, and we might be able to be figuring out where the bandits are not hidings, which might help us find where they be hiding. Being rude wont help any of us."
Brock smiles to the Dwarf, but its a quick one. Then we turns to the girl.
"Sorry for me friend he is worried bout the people who might be attacked next by the bandits, just as we all be. Can you be telling us of the places you know there nots? and where would you hide if you weres a group running from the law? Or is it the West you be thinking for sures?"
Brock smiles at her his hand still resting on his little friends shoulders.
Black Tom |
"Oh, I don't really know where the bandits are, but I doubt that they are on this side of the river. I don't cross it much. Chauncy and Bing don't like water and it's not safe to go alone. Don't mind them, by the way. They don't like strangers much, but they don't attack people except on command.
They could be hiding near the Duskmoon hills, of course. I avoid that part of the forest. It's full of monsters and I'm not ready for them yet."
Petra Pasmal |
It's nice do meet a sister of the divine practise.
Have you by any chance seen a despicable half-elf, a sadistic halfling and a human ugly enough to pass for half-orc who wanders the forest in the company of a zombie dwarf with bright orange hair?

"Er, no. I'm sure I would have remembered them."
Black Tom |
"Oh, there are all kinds of monsters near Duskmoon hill. Orcs, goblins, ogres, you name it. There are even some undead, especially at night.
The river isn't that deep. I'm sure you'll find a crossing.
And gribbons are some sort of magical creatures. Little nasty flying monkeys. Feel free to eradicate them if you spot any. They don't belong here and they hurt the other denizens of the forest."
Black Tom |
"Oh, the river comes from Duskmoon hills of course." She looks at you patiently and tries to speak slowly. "The Duskmoon hills are to the west, there." She points. "The river flows east, so the part of the forest across the river lies to the south, like there." She points again, in another direction.
"Are you sure you should be out here alone?"
To clear up the confusion, you are still in hex 506.
Juliare |
"Ok guys and Petra , here is how I see the situation .
Either we go back to the inn now , either we try to find a place around to sleep . If so , I'll try to hunt something for our supper tonight
What do you want to do ? The second choice would give us more time to explore tomorrow but might be slightly more dangerous . "
"At least, thanks to Gilda here , smile at her , we know there is a section of the forest we won't need to explore "
Petra Pasmal |

A little danger is fine by Petra. Let's camp in the woods.
Juliare |
Damn , I hoped Gilda would offer us hospitality

Black Tom |
Sorry to lose you Haun. Brock has been a lot of fun to have around. But if you get any time to spare, be sure to check in on us in summer.
After a few uncomfortable hours Brock suddenly rises and declares: "Sod this. I've got pine needles in places I didn't know I had. Sorry, guys, but I'm going to the inn."
The rest of you might want to reconsider your sleeping arrangements.
Juliare |
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ! Sniff !
You'll be missed but I understand Real Life must come first . Hope you'll come back this summer and It was indeed a pleasure to play with THE ROCK:).
Clark , you are promoted to Meatshield n° 1 ...
To be realistic , Juliare would not let Brock go alone in the forest but would most certainly guide him to the inn .

Sorry to see you go, but RL has to come first. Until we meet again...
As for Clark being the primary meatshield, here's hoping he lives to get some more hit points, eh?
Petra Pasmal |
As I've said before, Your posts as Brock have been really fun. Be missing you.
After a few uncomfortable hours Brock suddenly rises and declares: "Sod this. I've got pine needles in places I didn't know I had. Sorry, guys, but I'm going to the inn."
We had better follow you to the inn then. A pint and warm bed might be a better idea than the forest.
Clark Freeman |
Many sympathies - RL has taken a toll on me lately too, and I can very much sympathize! Here's hoping we see you again in a few months!
Kirwen nods. "Yeah, I wasn't too hot on sleeping out here in the first place."
"I don't think dividing the party is a good idea, especially if our outdoorsman is not with the camp. I vote we at least camp closer to the inn."

Finally, someone talkin' some sense," Thrakhir states bluntly as he he stands up and starts packing up his gear. "I have leaves in places I didn't know were existin'."

Clark looks at the dwarf in all seriousness, digesting the comment, before chuckling. "You know, somehow that strikes me as rather uncomfortable." He proceeds to pack his gear, too.
So does this mean the aforementioned first-watch excitement will now find us on the road?
Black Tom |
As you pack your stuff and lumber back to the inn, you hear some ominous fluttering of wings afar, but you don't stop to investigate.
As you reach the inn late at night, the innkeeper raises an eyebrow at the state of you. "Did you get lost in the forest or something?" he chuckles, but he does give you a 50% discount on your rooms, on account of the late hour.
As you reassemble for breakfast after a leaf-less night's sleep, you consider your options again. Where do you want to go next?

The plan for today is to move through hexes 605 , 504 and then to explore hexes 404 , 403 and 402 . We'll see where that will put us then :) Survival 25
