Upgrading weapons and armor?

Question - you can purchase masterwork and magical weapons and armor according to the rules, but can you have a masterwork piece of armor or weapons upgrade with a +1 magical bonus, or are you required to sell your masterwork item and purchase a magical one?

I asked Josh this Sunday at Gen Con, and he said you don't need to seel your MW stuff, you can simply pay the difference in price to enchant it. It would probably be good to have this (and other clarifications) updated officially into either an FAQ or an updated PFS guide pdf.

Yes, you can simply pay the upgrade cost to go from MW to +1. Yes, this is being added to version 1.2. Yes, I like saying yes.
