Things missing in Beta - will they be in the final copy?

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Liberty's Edge

Whilst perusing my Beta.pdf to find information on one of my player's character's deity, I noticed that information on the deities is lacking. Will Paizo include some basics in the final edition, or simply direct us to a supplement?

Also, I recall that there had been talk about a section on exotic weapons and future weapons, i.e., firearms. Still in the works or no?

Liberty's Edge

maybe Pathfinder's Campaign Setting, definitively in Gods and Magic, that will be published in October...

depending the god there could be some information in some of the Adventure Paths or Other books that have been already published

believe me... i am in the same case... i am waiting for my goddess to be explained :D

The Beta (and the final RPG) are designed to be setting neutral. While there are some examples of deities that Paizo has included as samples, the purpose of the book is not to describe the pantheons and firearms of Golarion. For these, check out the Campaign Setting or Gazetteer (though firearms aren't in the latter).

We might include a little more information about the deities in the final book... but not MUCH info. The PFCS and the upcoming Gods & Magic will be the place to go for that stuff.

I wouldn't expect much more about the deities than you'd find in the 3.5 PH and DMG combined, but there will likely be more than just a chart.

We plan to "sex up" the class and race descriptions and chapter introductions with more flavorful writing between now and the final, as well.

The Beta is an attempt to get the rules down so we can playtest the crap out of them. Right now that means a tight focus on rules.

Hilarious that less than 10 minutes after getting home from the airport from Gen Con both James and I are on here answering questions. :)

It must be some kind of addiction.

In retrospect, I realize that my comment above could be misconstrued to say that I think that the Beta is full of crap. So let me add a preemptive disclaimer: In no way was I implying that the PFRPG Beta Playtest is full of crap or crappy to any degree. In fact, I love the Beta as much as the rest of you.
