WoTO Author Signing

Hey folks! For those of you going to GenCon next week, I'd just like to point out that our booth will be hosting an AWESOME author signing for Worlds of Their Own on Saturday. In one spot, you'll find:

Ed Greenwood
Mike Stackpole
James Lowder
Paul S. Kemp
Greg Stolze

How's that for an all-star lineup? Plus, though he'll be elsewhere in the hall, R. A. Salvatore will be at GenCon as well, so you could always grab a copy of the book and go track him down. Last but not least (okay, probably the least), I'll be around, as will Erik Mona, so if you want to come talk Planet Stories, stop by and say hi!

The author signing will be Saturday, 2:30-3:30 at the Paizo booth (#2221). Hope to see you there!

Can I send a lackey to get my copy signed? :D

I can see the personal inscription now:

"Dear Lackey and/or high eBay bidder..."

Wow. What an impressive line-up! I'll be by, for sure. (Though I think I may be True Dungeoning around that specific time)

I think you will. ;)

I'm glad someone knows my schedule. :) I have yet to piece together my itinerary but it's probably a sound idea.

Any chances of Paizo getting some signed editions for sale to we unfortunate few who cannot attend the Convention?

I would gladly pay a surcharge for a signed copy; and I'd pay ahead of time, too.

I still need to as well, lest Lou gives me s@%~ for double booking something.

More on topic, this is something I will sadly miss, which could be best for everyone. I'd probably just make an ass of myself.

If you don't display your marvelous manmaries to someone famous, it will have been a wasted trip, and you know that, dude. Come on! Head in the game!

I'll be True Dungeoning with you too, Daigle and The Jade....are we all in the same party or am I going to have to hear your pitiful screams of horror from afar?

A better wizard True Dungeon has never seen! WE MARCH TO GLORY! (and I thought we were all in the same group)

By the way, I just talked to Jim Lowder, and it sounds like R. A. Salvatore might stop by and sign some copies ahead of time, so if you're lucky, you can show up at the booth and get a copy signed by six of the authors instead of five. Not too shabby!

Woot! Nice!

As much as I detest Andrew Turner as a Human Being, I like his idea.

I'm not sure how possible it is - if all the signed copies at the convention sell, they sell! - but I'll see what I can do about getting some for the website.

Thanks, James!

The effort itself is much appreciated!

Thanks to everyone who dropped by at the Gen Con signing or picked up Worlds of Their Own at the show. The book is so new that the signing was my first time seeing the printed version, and I'm really, really pleased with how it looks. I hope you all enjoy the contents as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you.

Cheers,
James Lowder

James, I have to say, I've only read the introduction so far, but I loved it. I really enjoy your insight into various aspects of publishing, especially shared world fiction (I know I've raved about your essay in Len Wein's Unoffical X-Men before, and your intro here was no less insightful).

I've thought about the subject--the pros and cons of writing in shared worlds--quite a lot, and some of the material in the WoTO intro dovetails a bit with the essay I wrote for The Unauthorized X-Men. Thanks so much for letting me know you enjoyed it!

Cheers,
Jim
