Liberty's Edge

The Acrobatics skill description says that Acrobatics checks suffer a +5 TN penalty if you move "normal speed or greater." Does anyone know exactly what that means?

I think TN stands for target number(someone out there plays too many other game systems). Its basically saying you are raising the DC, only its a target number instead because its not a flat check like disabling a trap.

Ah, bugger. Yeah, "someone" would be me. I meant to type "+5 DC" - the problem I'm having is, what is "normal speed" here? If I have someone with a speed of 30, can I go up to 25 ft without triggering the penalty, or is "normal speed" anything over "half speed" or something?

For most characters that would be 30', 20' for gnomes, dwarves, and halflings or characters in medium armor. I'm guessing it's normal or greater just in case you are hasted.

Ah, see I answered without looking at the alpha itself and I just figured the 'TN' had slipped in the book somewhere and was the problem.

So I guess I answered the wrong question. But it does sound like Dennis has it, I believe that 'normal speed' is going to be whatever the character can normally move without double moving, running, or being magically altered(I normally view it that haste's 30' would cause the penalty if you made use of it, but a monk naturally moves faster).
