It might be best for those of us who are going to list what events we are signed up for, either as players or DM's, so we can better organise any get-together. I'll list mine now.

Friday, 2pm: Star Wars Saga Event
Saturday, 9am: PFS
Saturday, 2pm: PFS
Sunday, 9am: PFS
Sunday, 2pm: PFS

This leaves Friday or Saturday night as possible dates, as it would seem Sunday is difficult for people. Though I'd happily do something on Sunday with those who can make it.

I'm happy to meet up with people on any day. I think it's going to be difficult to find a day when everybody can get together.

Saying what we're doing is probably helpful, now that GMing slots have been confirmed.

So I'm doing:
Thursday, 2pm: Player in PFS (Hydra's Fang Incident)
Thursday 8pm: GM (In Fear No More)
(Friday 9am: Possibly GMing some Classic RP game - probably Conan)
Friday 2pm: GM (Living Forgotten Realms)
Friday 8pm: GM (Living Forgotten Realms)
Saturday 9am: GM PFS (The Silent Tide)
Saturday 2pm and 8pm: GM (Living Forgotten Realms)
Sunday 9am: GM PFS (Murder on the Silken Caravan)
Sunday 2pm: GM (Living Forgotten Realms)

Dark Archive

I'm doing:

Thus 9am: GM LFR
Thus 2pm: RPGA desk monkey
Thus 8pm: GM LFR
Fri 2pm: GM LFR
Sat 9am: Playing The Silent Tide
Sat 2pm: GM LFR
Sun 9am: GM LFR
Sun 2pm: Playing The Frozen Fingers of Midnight

So Friday and Saturday nights are free at the moment.

Liberty's Edge

Playing Frozen Fingers campaign Fri at 1400 and Silent Tide Sat at 0900, so Friday evening is best for me.

Thursday: 9am GMing Pathfinder The Silent Tide
Thursday: 2pm Playing Pathfinder The Hydra's Fang Incident
Friday: 9am Playing Pathfinder Murder on the Silken Caravan
Friday: 2pm Playing Pathfinder The Frozen Fingers of Midnight
Saturday: 9am GMing Pathfinder The Silent Tide
Sunday: 2pm Playing Star Wars Saga Edition The Betrayal of Darth Revan

And if any World of Darkness game pops up I will be playing that.

If I had the Latest Shadowrun rules I would play that, Sadly I let myself get behind on that RPG :-(

I am good for any night but Sunday

With all the posts on here I might have missed it, but is there a consensus now? I want to book soon, so it'll be useful to know. Cheers!

Yeah, Friday looks like being the best day for most people.

Scarab Sages 1/5

Yep, Friday's looking like the 'official' (loosest sense of the word) meetup day. Has the added advantage that if we find somewhere good for both hanging out and for gaming, we can always just do the "Same time, same place" for Saturday and Sunday :).

Though how many of us will be around on Thursday night? Paizo boards quiz team anyone? :)

Tempting. I'm running a game from 8pm so won't be able to make it myself but some of the people I'll be there with should be able to.

Hmm... above was me, should really remember to log in as myself before posting things when using partner's computer :P... though we're both attending the same slots so hey!

Sovereign Court 4/5 5/55/5

Sounds good to me. Reading has several bars that stay open beyond midnight for those that don't have an early start but they tend to sting you at the door or at the bar for the privelage.

I'm up for a wingding on Thursady night or Friday night but I'm probably gonna turn into a pumpkin at midnight ready for the 9.00 slot the next morning. A beer and a meal and a yak would suit me well. How about a curry? Garden of Gulab is pretty good and walking distance.

My DM slots for Pathfinder are --
Slot 2 2.00pm Hydra Fang
Slot 4 9.00a, Murder on the Silken Caravan
Slot 5 Frozen Fingers of Midnight
Slot 7 9.00 Silent Tide
Slot 8 2.00 Hydra Fang

On any evening when you're not partying I can recommend the Cthullu games that are being run in the evenings if you want a complete change and some VERY good Keepers. "Lunatic takes over the Asylum" is especially recommended for Nick!

Dark Archive

I'll probably be around on Friday night, that's certainly the most likely time for me anyway, and might be around on Saturday night -- not sure yet, depends what else is on.

I'm voluteering a bit (on reception, not GMing) but only in the mornings, so other than scuppering me for two of the PFS modules there's little impact, my current schedule is:

0 wed eve - reception gopher
1 thu am - reception gopher
2 thu pm - Hydra's Fang
3 thu eve - quiz
4 fri am - reception gopher
5 fri pm - Frozen Fingers
7 sat am - reception gopher
10 sun am - reception gopher

The least-inconvenient-for-the-most-people seems to be Friday evening.

As for what & where I suspect we improvise nearer the time according to last minute numbers & whims. Although several things have been suggested there dosn't seem to be any concensus.

Pencilling in "something" for Friday evening seems like the way we're going.

I like the comprised post! Thanks for doing that!

So aside from picking a location now and rough time...how should we do a who's who?? I was thinking of doing a folded blank card in front of my character during my game days with my character name on them...can just throw this handle on it as well...on the bottom somewhere.

Just a thought.

Here's the PG12 part of the top rated urban dictionary entry:

Snizzle ceases to exist around the age of 25 years old, often younger. At which point becomes a Frazzle.

Damn, Id like to taste that snizzle!
That is one fresh snizzle!

But I don't think the above was his interpretation of snizzle, that would be rather rude and vile ... uh wait, were talking about Nick. ;-P

Dang, forgot to comment.

Kaiserslautern would be half an odyssey for us as we'd have to come by train. Talk about gas prices, I decided long ago that I rather spend my money on a convenient located residence than a car.

Would Frankfurt be ok?

What about Angel Gabriel's suggestion? Curry and then find some seats in a bar on campus (so those of us who are running stuff that evening can try and meet you later)?

I doubt we'd need to make any reservations (at least not this far in advance).

Last year they provided a map but it didn't have a key if I recall correctly.

But there were plenty of signposts and the desk volunteers were happy to direct people (I think my wife spent a lot of her time doing that last year).

Generally with UK conventions they're smaller and people tend not to go off campus very much. In general, given the time of year they probably wouldn't need a reservation. But looking at the numbers who have said they are interested there's probably about 12 people who have said they are interested on here. Add in a few places for partners and friends so perhaps about 20 places?

I don't know Reading at all though so can't personally comment on the quality of any places.

It's easy to find your way around. Finding the university main entrance is the only key (ie. not the halls of residence entrances). Once there there's loads of parking.

Hi,

I just finished compiling the Gen Con UK programme and prior to it going to layout it had a map in it of the relevant areas of the campus (the main central areas where the gaming is going on). It doesn't have a map of the entire campus because Reading has a huge campus but it does have enough to find the game you're looking for
