Holy Shlitz, Madgael! As always, brilliant and comprehensive!

I've received a bunch of requests of late for the end theme, which is a song called Manic Reprise off my rock opera Sniping From Samasara. It's in someone else's hands getting a monstrously sloooooooooow mix, but if people are serious about getting it I guess I'm going to have to light a fire.

*cough*

... You still getting that music together for me?

Sorry, I was just kinda wondering...

Funny you mention that... I actually found a ton of my recordings today while cleaning the guest bedroom. :)

Hey, Rone: "Emu Love Volume" plus a couple of covers are done and sent. I sent them to the AA address, because I couldn't remember yours. It's one file, and about seven minutes of low recording quality.

Ed forwarded it to me.

You made a viable song out of a song length palindrome and it sounds good, vital, hooking. I'm blown away. I'll record it the next time I get with a certain set of guys I think would be just right for it.

Thank you, Shiny!

Episode 24! Boop Beep... Boop... Beep... Boop...

Next month, Pantheon Press will be releasing a new line of OGL products based around Nobis, a new fantasy setting. We asked Pantheon for a sneak peak at their first couple releases. Bright, intriguing stuff… makes me think of Dangerous Liaisons as a D&D setting. Editor-in-Chief Jason Keeley and contributing author Rob Trimarco agreed to speak with us about Nobis, so we can give you a taste of what’s to come.

Listen in to find out how you can win one of two copies of the setting. We also announce the winner of the Scarrport contest.

My new request: How about a Dave Gross interview?

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

Fun stuff guys, but I have to admit the announcement of Craig winning something...again...was the best!

Also, someone needs to point CourtFool to this podcast. They were talking about Hero.

Oh and great episode too guys as always. :)

Another good podcast, guys. I hope you end up playing this--I want to hear how it went. Michael Satran seemed very excited about his scenario. I also liked the crow that kept cawing at the beginning of the podcast.

I'm looking forward to a Blammo/Foxbat comic from you and Hugo too.

I'd love to talk to Dave. We've only written back a forth a few times in the 90's. Is Dave just writing novels these days, or is he still doing game design or game related fiction?

Thanks, D :) Yeah, pulling Craig's name was a shocker. The guy's got the gift!

HERO system fans might like this last episode and the Gestalt episode (which comes in two versions, one for OGL and one for HERO).

Cool! I'm really hoping to get run through Foxbat at Gen Con, and yes, the Blammo/Foxbat strip should be a hoot. Plenty there to work with, comically.

Yeah, there are crows chiming in, aren't there? That could be an ill omen! And... and... if you take the R out of Mike's surname you get Satan! What is this Foxbat up to?!

Though I'm early, I really want to wish you guys a wonderful first anniversary!

Here's to many more!

Shiny, I have them ready to load in and send. All of 'em.

I found a paper bag full of every demo I've ever created. Who knew I'd previously batched them? I took the bag with me on the drive up to a Chatham motel recently while visiting my grandparents and I accidentally left the bag in a drawer there. Can you imagine the sound of my screaming upon realization during that long car ride back to NY? The motel just sent it back yesterday. I can't tell you how stress free and less cluttered I now feel. I shall bombard thee! Commence the sonic pelting!

Daigle, thank you so much. :)

Thanks to both you fellers for being a part of the show, as well.

We wrap up our first year on the air with a special show. In Episode 26 of Atomic Array we spotlight Dogs in the Vineyard. D Vincent Baker’s Dogs in the Vineyard is not a new game - it came out in 2004, grabbing the Indie RPG of the Year and Most Innovative Game awards. Deservedly so. Dogs is one of the best games I’ve ever played and it was a blast getting the chance to speak with the author. My recent experiences with Dogs were so compelling that we asked my Dogs GM, John Stavropoulos, to join the conversation and quiz me about the game and how it plays.

As you can well imagine, I had no shortage of words…

Composing the theme for this show gave me an excuse to spend an hour fiddling around with the steel guitar I never learned how to play. :)

This recent podcast is wonderfully timed. I just finished running a long campaign, so I get to take a break and be a player for a few months. Brandon, the guy in our group who is going to run the next thing or two was just talking about running Dogs last week. We had the choice between it and CoC, and while we chose CoC, I'm pretty sure we will play both very soon. I was kinda interested in the game from what Brandon was telling us, but after listening to the podcast, I'm certainly looking forward to playing Dogs. Thanks for the well-timed podcast!

Can we make requests for who you interview?

Callous Jack wrote:

I know they've been asking for e-mails during the Open Design Podcast for interviewees. In fact, if you send an e-mail to their contest (in which you are also supposed to identify someone you want interviewed), you could end up with a signed copy of KQ #5--signed by James Jacobs. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put the contest e-mail address, but here's the regular contact info on the website: link.

Thank you, Daigle. I'm glad for this serendipity. Brandon mentioned that he played Dogs a couple days ago. Although I impatiently want to hear about your first impression of Dogs, I don't want it to come at the cost of hearing you died prematurely on your big CoC adventure. That ain' no way to go, man.

"I strangle the tentacle! I STRANGLE THE TENTACLE!"

Callous Jack, the show is booked through the end of the year, and we spotlight the games that we really like, or the ones we see that excite us and make us want to play. But if you have any suggestions, please fire away. I always want to know about any of the many great games I've missed.

In Episode 27 of Atomic Array we preview Geist: The Sin-Eaters.

Nothing informs life more than the shadow of death, and there’s no better way to learn about White Wolf’s newest game than to speak with one of the creators. Matthew McFarland is a contributing writer to Geist: The Sin-Eaters, a ‘Storytelling game of Second Chances’. White Wolf gave us pre-press copies of their new game, and Matt came on to talk ghosts, geists, gamers and gorgonzola (which one do you think I made up?).

Rone that last link to the Quick-Start Rules is broken (also on the AA Homepage).
Will listen tomorrow *hopefully* in the car, else it will be Monday :(

Longer's better remeber... you still had another good ten or so minutes to go into until it's too long for a CD. ;)

The quickstart link is fixed, Thanks Craig. The Game Cryer review will go up soon.

8 1/2 minutes of spare time and I didn't use it?! Why... I could have opined! ;)

Rone, you need to put all your rants into a book, like Edward Abbey or Henry Rollins.

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

This was a really awesome show.

I listened to it in the car today while driving back and forth through central Texas on a completely bullshit day at work, and the show was clearly a highlight to my day. I was totally interested in the game and want to check it out, so success!

Your rant was awesome as it was a more focused version of a story you've told me before. I have to say, though, the outtake bit at the end was hilarious. Solid gold.

You bastards sound like you will be busy during GenCon, but I'm totally looking forward to seeing you guys in a few weeks.

I'm really glad you liked it. I'm always a bit uncertain how people will react to a longer show.

Gen Con days are going to be workworkwork but my nights should be mostly free. As I already know my schedule to come I sure we'll see much more of each other than last time. Wanna hit that out of the way Indian restaurant up again? I kind of remember where it was.

Geist sounds like WW have come back to capturing my attention again (didn't get Hunter or Changeling, but still wouldn't mind). I'll definately have to take a look see at it when it releases.

Thanks! Did you hear that part where I was trying to say White Wolf and Wife Woof or something came out instead? Oh, the shame. I knew sucking on marbles during the interview was a mistake.

I really look forward to playing Geist. I'm trying to see if someone will run me through a game at Gen Con. The only book you need is the WoD corebook, not the other faction books, but this book does tell you how Sin-Eaters interact with said factions, in case you want to include them. I think our guest, Matt, runs an all-inclusive WW world where all factions exist, but then he prolly gets all the books for free. ;)
