INITIATIVE ORDER -- ROUND 2 summation:
KELIWYN 27 -- shaken, misses
BAAS 21 -- ACTED; taking charge
IXIUS 20 -- retreated
AMBUSHERS 19 -- can't get a shot
GIRALLON 15 -- ACTED; killed hippogriff
cHUOL 10 -- RIP
FIPPIN 10 -- on his way down the stairs
SYKALA 7 -- lightning.
Keliwyn misses a big, easy, and very angry target, and Sykala just makes an angry target more angry.
Behind you, you hear a familiar voice, "Makin' new friends?". Faruq grins his big, dumb, toothy grin as he pulls out his falchion.
INITIATIVE ORDER -- ROUND 3:
KELIWYN 27 --
BAAS 21 --
IXIUS 20 --
AMBUSHERS 19 --
GIRALLON 15 --
FIPPIN 10 --
SYKALA 7 --
Correct me if I am wrong, but Fippin has taken himself off the bridge.

Fippin |

I had been holding off on my posts a bit since I was near the end of the round. However Fippin's plan was to stay at the top of the stairs and fire with his bow. If the big nasty gorillon comes he might bolt, but at least he has the expeditious reatreat active for now, so it will give him some extra speed.
Round 2 (If I can still shoot): bowshot into melee 1d20+2=12
Round 3: bowshot 1d20+ 6=24
actually that should be only 20 since he's firing into melee I think.

Ixius |

Keliwyn of Korvosa |

Keliwyn moves so as to give himself a clear shot at jumping off the bridge and attempts another shot, but misses big time (again).
Sorry folks, work is busy and I haven't been able to check as often as I'd like.
Can I get a solid idea of where everyone is? If I'm not mistaken, the big monkey hasn't take much damage, correct? At least, certainly not from Keliwyn.

Bray Abbitt |
I am staying close to Sykala and between her and the Girallon. If the Girallon is within striking distance, I will strike him. Otherwise I am reading an action to hit him if he comes to me.
Raging, overhand chop (1d20 8=20, 2d6 11=16)
GenCon was a blast. I highly suggest it for anyone who has not gone. My buddy that tagged along and I have both gamed since the early 80's and this was our first. You gotta go at least once. My GenCon notes are at: http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/community/gaming/gamerLife/genCon2008N otes&page=1#697821

I'd like that as well. I believe that the party that advanced has retreated to join the party that hung back. They are represented on the map by the red dot. Fippin has moved back to the top of the stairs ... about 80' back? Faruq has moved to join the party. Correct me if this is wrong.
At the beginning of this round, the Ekujae are on the second floor of the building to the party's left. They have not been heard from for a round. The girallon is at the green dot and has just finished tearing apart a hippogriff.
The girallon doesn't take time to lick the blood and feathers off of his claws. Being stung by the nasty human with the lightning fingers pisses him off greatly. He covers the 25 or so feet between the party with a few loping strides and slaps Sykala hard enough to almost knock her from her feet.
8 points of damage.
The wild elves in the building above you knock the plane of glass out of the windows on the second floor and begin firing at the party. Ixius, Baas, and Keliwyn each are hit.
They avoid firing at Sykala as they don't want to hit their pet. Ixius and Keliwn take 2 points each. Baas takes 6. None of the thistles stick.
If I'm not mistaken, the big monkey hasn't take much damage, correct? At least, certainly not from Keliwyn.
The big monkey has taken a lot of damage actually.

Sykala |

Sykala's head snaps back from the slap, she turns back to see Baas land a final blow laying the beast low. She licks her own blood now trickling down from the corner of her mouth. Her piercing blue eyes glittering dangerously she growls out, "Now kill elves." With that she circles around to an entrance and tries to enter the building.
Keliwyn's up again...

Ixius |

Ixius moves to within range of the shooters and tries to burn them.
If that is not possible, then he fires off two arrows at the elf with the least cover.
Ranged rapid shot attack (1d20+3=19, 1d20+3=23)(- whatever cover penalty)
Crit damage (1d8+2=9, 1d8+2=5)
Wow! Great rolls!

Keliwyn of Korvosa |

Nice - I really wanted to know who was between Keliwyn and King Kong, but Baas just made that irrelevant and it's good to see that Ixius clealry has the mojo rocking.
When Baas pounds the big four armed gorilla into the dust, Keliwyn drops his bow, draws his rapier & dagger, and moves toward the door of the building where the archers are holed up.
Keliwyn is looking for the door. Is it open or closed? If it's closed, he'll open it quickly & carefully, using the door itself as potential cover, to get an idea of the layout inside.

Fippin |

On his next turn Fippin will take move up to the entrance of the building the elves are in. With his expeditious retreat spell active he can easily cover the distance with a double move. He tries to stay as close to the wall as possible to make it so that the elves can't get a line on him.

You decide. They are in a building that might suffer some damage or even catch fire. Also, as they are partially protected, they would get a bonus to their reflex saves for half damage.

There is a door at the front of this building. It is closed but the handle has been busted off and it is not locked. It was obviously forced open at some point.
The building appears to be some kind of office. Maps of the river have been pegged to the walls. A sheet of slate on a table has some numbers scribbled on it. A set of stairs to the second level is on the far left side of the room. There are no Ekujae in this room but some blood on the floor shows that whoever used to occupy it did not abandon his post willingly.

Are the stairs open or enclosed? I'm looking for a bottleneck, where Keliwyn can force them to fight one or two at a time.

Open, to let the breeze through. The stairs are only 3' wide, so they would have to come down them one at a time. It is probably the bottleneck you are looking for if they come down.

Sykala |

Keliwyn will be happy to follow or lead Sykala, whichever she thinks would be less likely to interfere with her spell. He speaks with her in whispers to decide the course of action.
She whispers back, "Follow. I get rid arrows. You. Baas. Go kill. Not good have bows when close. Ixius wound or kill one. Get that one first if alive."

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

As Ixius fires up at the window, two arrows hit one wild elf and he falls back quickly. Whether he was killed or wounded you cannot tell but you've never seen someone take an arrow in each eye and still pose a threat before ...
Keliwyn, Fippin, and Sykala enter the building and quickly make for the stairs.
Baas follows somewhat hesitantly.
The Ekujae remain silent.
Sykala climbs the stairs to the second floor just in time to see the Ekujae exiting through the window. One dead wild elf lay on the floor, an arrow in each eye.

Sykala |

She turns back and yells to Keliwyn and Baas, "THEY GO OUT WINDOW! Go back down bridge." She will change into an eagle and follow them out the window (she will change once they are below the window so they don't know this eagle is in fact Sykala).
I am not sure where we are on initiative or whether we are even following it at this point but fit this action in whenever you feel it's appropriate.

Speaking is always a free action, right? ... Hehehe .. You remember the bad guy's monologue in Gamers that kept getting cut off? ... The turning into an eagle will happen the end of the next round. I'm keeping the same initiative order.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Does Ixius see the elves that jumped out the window? I'm guessing the window was on the side of the building opposite him.
That's right, you were outside. They climbed out the side window that they'd been firing out of earlier. They know when they are beat. When they hit ground level, they will attempt to escape by running down the bridge to the end you did not come from.
Let's say that when this round begins, the elves have just come out of the alley between this building and the next. They are about 20' away from Ixius and attempting to flee. Initiative goes to Fippin, Keliwyn, Baas, and Ixius. Sykala is patrolling from the sky.
INITIATIVE ORDER -- CHASE 1:
KELIWYN 27 -- ???
BAAS 21 -- 'street' level
IXIUS 20 -- 'street' level
AMBUSHERS 19 -- 'street' level
FIPPIN 10 --
SYKALA 7 -- flying high

Ixius |

Ixius shoots at one of the fleeing elves.

Baas |

Bass will attack the closest opponent (charging if possible).
Raging Overhand Chop (1d20 10=14, 2d6 11=20) (additional +2 if I can charge).
btw, is the guy I subdued still out?

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

The one's who were knocked out are still out ... they will heal at 1 hp / level / hour unless PRPG changed that.
Baas' blow takes another one to the ground. Ixius' shot with the bow wounds one but he continues to flee.
The elf that had hid behind the ballista survived the hippogriff attack with little damage and is not pointing a ballista in your direction. He shouts in Elven:
"Back to your nests defilers of the green!"
Fippin missed with his arrow.
I rolled for Fippin.
Ixius:
The ballista does not seem to be tense enough to have been loaded.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

The elf running towards the ballista is taken down by shots from Ixius and Fippin. The elf pointing the ballista at you leaps back behind the ballista and disappears from view.
Other than the laboured breathing of a battle weary party and the cry of an eagle overhead, you hear nothing.
Sykala:
The elf is trying to climb over the side of the bridge.

Fippin |

"I think the one that most likely would have been able to speak their tongue was our brave companion Chuul. I certainly can't, but I do have a prayer that will allow me to understand what he's saying, it just won't let me speak the language. I won't be able to use it until tomorrow, so I think that in a few minutes we should get this one securely bound and take him to the boat. We must also take Chuul's body with us, and see that last rights are properly performed."
"However, before we do that there are more pressing issues. There is still one more, I'd hate for him to go find some friends or start picking us off while we're on the ship. Sykala and Bass, why don't you do see if you can find him, and Ix and Keliwyn and I will keep tabs on this git and cover you with our bows."

Sykala |

The eagle dives and hits the elf with lightning.
Rolls with real dice since Invisible Castle seems to still be down. To hit(roll6+5)=11 Damage(roll2+2)=4
XP so far = 2215. With fast advancement, you are about halfway to a level increase.
Ooof! Not as far along as I was imagining. After the Dragonnel being worth 600xp I was thinking we'd be next level much quicker. Unless I am misreading and that didn't include this encounter with the girallon and 6 elves. Not a complaint mind you just talking out loud and seeing just how fast "fast" is. And no, I didn't think we were going to make a level yet.

Sykala:
No reason to apologize. I didn't get around to answering today. Unless I've missed a fight or messed up the math, that is the correct number. Note that you have been earning XP in the 6+ party members column of the Beta's XP table. Now that you have lost one member -- whom I had lunch with the other day ;-) -- the progession should accelerate.
