Okay. I'm still not planning on going 4e. But I have to say that I really like the way WotC has formatted its .pdfs for Dragon and Dungeon e-zines. Easy to read on my computer screen - no need to scroll up and down a page - it's all there.
WotC did something right here.
I know I'll be a minority with this next statement, but I'd like to see Paizo take a similar approach with its .pdfs. Granted, the problem is that Paizo's .pdfs are replicas of its hardbounds.
But as a twist, the way the Star Wars Saga Edition books are crafted, if Paizo eventually went to that size and style, .pdf replicas would fit the computer screen perfectly.
Just thought I'd throw this out there.

Gotta agree, that's one advantage of online delivery I've seen WOTC capitalize on.
It's also made me wish to see other pdf products formatted in that way, so you're not the only one, but I really don't see it happening with Paizo. It's too much to ask to have a landscape format for pdf but keep the hardcopies in standard format.
And besides, the point is moot for me; I ultimately prefer having the actual book in my grubby little hands!

I can't STAND reading pdfs. I hate them with a passion, though they are sometimes useful so a necessary evil.
The widescreen, landscaped format, though, is very easy to read. I've found myself actually forgetting that I'm reading a pdf, which never happened before. This is, of course, balanced by the fact that they no longer will look right if printed. I'm not sure where I stand on that.
Best case scenario would be they do double the work and make a landscaped version for me to read on my computer and a portrait version for me to print from. That would be amazing. No chance in Hell, but it would be amazing.

I spend at least 3 hours a day, during the work week, reading PDFs. Things like the amount of content, page layout, font size, etc are certainly nice. I tend to read PDFs on a several different PCs, some that can support 1600 x 1200 display, others at 800 x 480 (!).
The biggest things for me are full support for searching, accurate page numbers (i.e. PDF doesn't begin on page 0) and bookmarks/indexing. After I've read through the content once, the PDF becomes more of a reference tool and less a book.
The other thing that bugs me is a PDF with composite art (B&W, Line, Color, etc) with a resolution of less than 300 DPI, but I can understand how that kind of thing is a luxury (file size, etc.)
I'd also like to mention that PDFs and Online Delivery are the shape of things to come. Paper and transport/mailing prices are only going up.

I don't like it.
Most use of these articles will be at a table, reading from paper copies. The format is great for your screen, but not useful when most will actually need it to be useful.
IMO :)
I actually did like it, but I agree with you that it doesn't work for paper. Maybe if you could switch between the two formats.....

Before I made a fool of myself I checked the enworld homebrew board and I was not disappointed:
Linked for you! looks pretty damn good.
