Is it just me or has Order of the Stick been off the chart good recently? There's been like 10 (at least) in a row where I was like "I have to see the next strip now!!!"
...
Agreed. Usually I am on the edge of my seat for general gaming funniness. Lately it has been WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!!
lots of discussion on the different strips here: gamer life.

So translation of the video im the guy on the right in the foreground and Scott is the teacher and this is what he did to me for asking about the experiance.

sorry about the long delay guys. went on vacation and thought I would have internet while I was there. It was pretty hectic and I did not even get to see most of my friends. (at least he got his wow minis *wink*).
It was a lot of fun though the race I joined my siblings for (Ragnar Relay) was a killer. I was nowhere near prepared for the 1400 foot climb, especially considering the last time I was at 5500 feet (starting point for leg three) I was in an airplane *grin*
hope you all find it worthwhile to stick with this savage tide.

Who is this plasticrack addict? And how did you end up being supplier? Or were you just the mule in this case? We can only pity both of you.
hope you all find it worthwhile to stick with this savage tide.
Indeed.

OK will do this weekend.
The run is worthing doing once if you are into that sort of thing, or more if you are really into it.
The game is the best minis games I have tried, though after several failed games anything would be cool. Definatly something I will talk more about O:) hopefully DK can share this.

to create a character:
4d6 drop the lowest number six times. Repeat this three times, and choose one of the three sets of six. I will be present for all such rolls.
Races:
PH standard races except for half elves. Aventi (Stormwrack), Bullywogs (Races of Faerun), lizardfolk, and phanatons (Dragon 371) live in the jungles surrounding the city and the exotic port is not surprised by these races. ECL must not bring the character over the current level allowed for the character. Half elves, get a bonus feat like their human ancestors, but unlike their human ancestor it is limited to a skill feat (e.g. acrobatic or agile) on account of the skill point bonus humans also get. A dex related feat is also an option to represent the elf parent.
Classes:
Standard PH classes with some alternative variations. Also the swashbuckler (complete warrior), scout (complete adventurer), and warmage (complete arcane), favored soul (complete divine) all make appearances in the NPCs so are also a choice. Prestige classes will be just that: a prestige. Not every character will be able to take a prestige class (d%), so if you want one, please talk with me ahead of time and expect to play a level of standard class first. They will likely also be limited to DMG and Stormwrack. I will have a complete list of all the classes and prestige classes found throughout the Savage Tide available by the time a replacement character is needed.
Variations on standard classes also exist. Barbarians can get one exotic weapon as a martial weapon, but some martial weapons will become exotic for them. Wizards can choose to have a staff as a familiar; that is a staff that increases in power like a familiar would (see Dragon 331 for more info). Finally the paladin who does not want a mount can choose an alternative ability (PHII). Clerics and others may want to know the common deities of Sasserine. Wee jas and Kord have been competing churches for centuries in Sasserine-but they have been blamed for the fall of Sasserine. Worgul (Olidimarra in disguise), Pelor, Farlanghan and St. Cuthbert are the next most common. A triumvirate of sea gods Ospem, Procan and Xerbo are also worshipped. Vecna and Nerull are rumored to have followers in the city as well. Druids, rangers, wizards, paladins, should see animal companions below.
Finally there is a prestige class unique to Isle of Dread called the Totemic Slayer. If you are interested the pre-requisites include Alignment: any nonevil; Skills Knowledge (nature) 8 ranks, Knowledge (planes) 2 ranks, Survival 2 ranks; Base Attack +4, Special, the recipient must undergo a ritual conducted by an Olman holy man and the Church of the Whirling Fury. At certain levels they gain totemic powers such as Sea Turtle (DR).
Skills:
Pirates are a common encounter. Swimming, climb, balance, rope use will make ships much less challenging. Sailor, Boatwright, fisherman are likewise good choices. 5 ranks in a craft or profession skill will be enough for a character to ignore the cost of living even when adventuring does not pay. There is a lot of time between many of the adventures so these skills might also provide some interest during the down time. Knowledge of the sea, jungles, geography will hopefully also show up in the party. The isle of dread has a lot of animals on it.
Feats:
Standard PH, but completes and Stormwrack will be OK if pre-approved. Characters can take a district feat as a bonus if a decent backstory is completed. District feats can be found in the Savage Tide player’s guide which can be emailed to you or downloaded from their website (paizo.com/store/paizoexclusives). Some non Sasserine district feats exist for characters from other areas. (see below **) If anyone is interested in getting a bonus feat, they can also take a disadvantage. The three Eberron feats related to action points are also an option. Again barbarians and half elves can get certain bonus feats.
**other district feats (options for bonus feats not related to Sasserine)
As survivors of a shipwreck there are a number of NPCs wandering along with the party unconcious or out of their wits. though if you have reason to be on the savage island I will work with you on that part.

Are there still spots open? And if so, is there anything needed? I'm not picky in what I play.
Khez, my man! Curaigh is of course in charge, but I'm sure there's room. The most recent PC posters are Urdok and (my) Amar, wizardly and clericly types. Our melee guys have kind of disappeared. Haven't had a rogue since I joined the game. I'd say there's room for any class. With you, Rimrock, and Shiny I'd think we'll be sailing.

Curaigh |

Hmmm... I can go Fighter (haven't done one in forever), or I can do another rogue. Oh... What are the alignments like i the party so far?
Am I right in thinking this is 3.5?
Yes 3.5. I do not remember the alignments of the party, but the monk is at least lawful.
I will change the game to fit the characters so please play what you want to. Yes you can bring in Abe (jaden was originally from fakey's hollow at a different level. :). Currently we have an ooman cleric, dwarven warmage, and a lizardly monk.
I think that is three new folks. We have room for one or two more, but also enough we can start when you get ready.
Welcome...

Khezial Tahr |

Wait someone wants to play a gigantic meat shield who can get scars instead of me??? Sign him up quick lol
HAHA! Well, I can go fighter, or I can port over my Rogue from Fakey's campaign (check my profile for Morganst). I may have to wiggle thing about some (he was made in pathfinder), but the basics are still good.
I think I'm leaning towards fighter, especially since it's been ages since I played one. But i can easily play either.
Oh... What level are we staring at?

Curaigh |

Amar is sixth level. I imagine Curaigh would start you off there.
Curaigh -- not trying to step on your DM toes. Just trying to speed their entry to the game. Just let me know if I cross the line.
I will let you know so no worries. I appreciate the help.
Yes, level is either six or for those who like overly complicated games roll 1d4
1=5th level
2=low 6
3=high 6
4=7th level

Khezial Tahr |

Ok,
I'll whip up a fighter then. I'll post all my rolls from invisiblecastle then (if that's cool) choose one and start tonight.
If you guys prefer, I can go rogue (I can transfer over morganst form the same thread Abe is from). Since we have another fighter and a pally, if you guys would prefer that, I have no objections to playing one.

Curaigh |

KT: my only recommendation is to play whatever character is the most fun for you. Everyone you have mentioned is fine and will all be welcome. I will change the game to fit the character you want to play (less fighters=less hp on villains or less rogue=fewer deadly traps) Again key word is FUN! O:)
R: yes standard $ is fine, plus I will create one item for your (likely to be my superstar entry last year :). Abe is a pali right? Since Leo is your mount I would like him to stick around. I know you can summon another mount. How would you feel about a cringor/battle cat moment?
both: yes invisible castle is fine though it looks like the spoiler below is hiding the code [dice1d20 + 3; 1d6 + 2/dice] which I hope is a randomizer: here is my test on that theory 1d4 ⇒ 1
EDIT: it worked.

Urdok |

So i know we are having a very important conversation regarding the game, but... I BOUGHT EGG NOG TODAY. I look forward to my first drink of this wonderful ambrosia every year. In my world God made Adam, Eve, Chuck Norris, then Egg Nog his last, final, and greatest creation!!!

Curaigh |

You still got room for one more?
Aye Shiny welcome aboard! Gen rules are above, but ask if you have questions eh me droogy?!
As an aside I want to pre-apologize to Fakey's folks for not living up to his standards. You will still have fun though O:)
Urdock: Matt and I finished a carton each whilst carving pumpkins this weekend. (he would not touch my light and I did not want allspice in mine :) YummY.
I also found a recipe for nog, and will be trying it one of these long weekends. *grin*

The Eldritch Mr. Shiny wrote:You still got room for one more?Aye Shiny welcome aboard! Gen rules are above, but ask if you have questions eh me droogy?!
What would I have to do to recycle this character, other than leveling down and converting from PF flavor to Greyhawk flavor?

Sweet, I was hoping to keep Leo. The cringor/battle cat idea sounds awesome.

Curaigh |

Curaigh,
All done the fighter, but it occurs to me I never asked about starting gold, or magic items. How do you want to handle that?
standard starting gold for level 6. do not sprend it all in one place. For simplicity's sake I want DMG, but my table top ST uses the Magic Item Compendium so if you see something from there let me know and I will approve or not.
Also I will be creating a magic item specific to your character. I call this a monkey paw item. These are rewards in my campaign for good RP, but everyone will get one to start. O:)

Curaigh |

I will reread master thrower before approving (some PCs can ruin ST). I am not familiar with paragon, so what class is the 3.5 closest? I like the concept though. Relic hunting is a perfect reason to join an expedition to the forgotten lost savage Isle of Dread especially if one is too arrogant to recognize its dangers. :)

Halga Biir |

Should I do fighter or Barbarian? Any one in the group have an idea?
I'll begin tonight since I should be finished with my moving..
Either will work fine I think. I'm doing a TWF fighter. Curaigh is molding the adventure around what we're playing. So, as he stated "play whatever is the most fun for you."
BTW, I'm done.

Curaigh |

Yes!
Or...
maybe...
a barbarian/fighter!

Looks good, but for hp. You rolled 4d10, but are sixth level? Also I do not think you added your con bonus to hp.
for all: max hp on levels 1, 2, & 3.
Also, you should roll three sets of six, but Halga is done so do not worry about it.

D'Oh! I'll fix the HP and add the Con bonus. I have the other stat rolls as well, I'll post them up later on. I only posted the one I used.
