Umlo |

Umlo hunches over catching his breath, the slightly overweight Dwarf's laboured breathing suggests he may have had too much ale already today. With an unplesant heave, the contents of Umlo's stomach expell to the dirt beside the dead Warchanters severed corpse. "I do not remember eating that" the dwarf mutters, as he attempts to kick dirt over his exposed stomach contents. Wiping his beard of vomit he scans the horizon watching the goblin retreat. Pleased with himself he puts his waraxe away and attemps to bandage his wound.

Devrin Vallis |

Korpiklanni Horsekiller |

Coming unsteadily to his feet, Korpi, panting and bloodspattered, throws rocks and flaming bits of wood at the fleeing kinsmen "Run! Run or I's burn you too! Run! Hee hee hee!".
Once the vanish from sight, he pauses and listens for the sound of more of his kinsmen's song and then charges off in that direction with a shrill war-cry.
Perception 14

Kyran Semnir |

Clarification of earlier post: Kyran wants to get the goblin off the gnome, but not kill it or harm Fern. To this end he's going to put the little beast in a full nelson, which he hopes will prise its arms off of Fern. Once that's done, he'll fall over backwards, and roll across the ground (still grappling the goblin) to put out the flames.

Chris Banks |

All AoOs have been resolved. Thus far, nobody seems to have had much luck with them.
Devrin has no luck in killing the cursed goblin, but Kyran manages to wrench the cursed creature loose and forcibly introduce him to the dirt. The flames are soon extinguished, though accompanied by a great deal of pitiful wailing. Grond's swing, alas, just convinces his target to run even faster.
It takes a short while for the goblins to get clear out of sight, pursued by the rocks and threats of Korpiklanni. During this time, Umlo is able to bandage up his wounds and do a bit of looting, though it's debatable how much of the warchanter's gear is usable by him. Others are also able to get a breather, perhaps putting their time to good use.
However, Korpi soon brings an end to the respite, dashing off to the west in response to the sounds of singing and frantic barking.
Congratulations. Kyran now has a captive, if rather badly burned goblin. Two, if one counts the one with the broken leg. People have a couple of rounds before Korpi goes haring off again, and Devrin may dispense the clerical healing if he is so inclined.
Umlo has spent his time doing some rudimentary first aid and looting, and has acquired a small-sized whip, dogslicer, shortbow and 20 arrows, along with a potion of cure light wounds and 20 gp, none of which was particularly well hidden.

Kyran Semnir |

Kyran looks at the burned goblin with a surprising amount of compassion for someone who has just witnessed a goblin raid. He realizes that he needs to alleviate the poor creature's suffering before it'll be any good as a source of information and, despite how nasty the typical goblin is, it's suffering, and that doesn't sit well with him. He calls over to Devrin "Would you mind bringing the one with the broken leg over here, too? And try not to make his leg any worse." To the group in general "Would someone please find Sheriff Hemlock?"
Heal check to do something about the painful nature goblin's wounds: 24 (d20= 19 +5 heal) Heh. NOW I get a fantastic roll on something.

Kyran Semnir |

Quick note for GM convenience: Assuming that he can get the burned goblin's injuries salved and the broken-legged one's leg set, Kyran's going to question the goblins and hand them over to the Sheriff. To restrain the two of them, he'll probably have them sit with their backs to a wagon wheel, run the rope through the spokes, and tie their wrists together. That'll keep them from going anywhere but won't hurt them any.

Umlo |

Umlo would not mind some healing, if it does not come he will follow the little Goblin running off to the west where the sound of more Goblin singing is heard, He calls to Grond in Dwarven, "I think more of the little green freaks are to the west, you can hear the singing". He yells to the priest wearing the Desna gear and the other man playing with the goblins by the wagon, "Tallfolk you gonna see if the rest of the town needs us?" Umlo takes out a throwing axe and heads off after a round of waiting to see if healing will come. He casts a glare at the woman named Fern, "you best keep your distance witch, you have a licence for your craft?" with a clumsy lift of his belt to pull his pants up he heads west. Umlo spends the round he waits for healing putting the looted gear in his pack.

Grond Aardde |

Grond watches the fleeing goblins get away followed only by his Dwarvish curses. He watches with disgust as the others deal with the goblin captives and eyes the so called goblin ally. When it runs off followed by Umlo's call about more goblins to the west he shouts, "Figures tha little rat be knowin' exactly where his kin are lootin'." Hefting up his warhammer he jogs along with his dwarven brother and in Dwarvish says, "Let's get 'em."

Devrin Vallis |

Devrin channels the divine energy of Desna through the wooden butterfly hanging from his neck. The area around him fills with a soft green light, little wisps of yellow and red whirl around the area. All those still living feel the blessing of being touched by the divine.
Channel Energy - heal 1d6 to all within 30'. Hopefully targeting himself, Fern, and the dwarves. If the goblins captured by Kyran are within the range, he'll let them be healed as well to save the paladin time.

Kyran Semnir |

Fern is almost inconsolable.
Screaming and flailing, her rage builds. She will lash out with her spell at the next goblin to so much as look at her.
Kyran looks at the gnome, visibly bothered by her suffering and concerned by her fury. Is there still an attack going on?

Kyran Semnir |

Barring word to the contrary from the GM, I'm going to assume this attack is still in full swing.
Something in Kyran's countenance shifts from nurturing to hard as iron. He glances around to see if anyone the goblins took down had a better weapon than his handaxe.
Perception check for anything that does at least 1d8 of base damage (morningstar, heavy mace, longsword, battleaxe, heavy flail, warhammer, bastard sword, greatsword, greataxe, earthbreaker, sawtooth saber, etc.): 2 (d20=1 +1 WIS) ...never mind.
Not seeing anything and brushing flecks of ash from the recent blaze out of his eyes, Kyran moves off after the dwarves, handaxe at the ready.

Chris Banks |

Devrin's healing washes over the group, fixing up some of their injuries, and providing a little relief to the goblins as well. Not that the one with the broken leg is going to be able to walk anytime soon. Kyran soon has the pair tied in place. As long as there's somebody to watch them, they won't be going anywhere. And as if on cue, a pair of guards comes into sight to the north, apparently sent to help get things under control. The sounds of battle have begun to die down; apparently things are being brought under control.
Korpi is in danger of outdistancing his nominal allies, and is the first to arrive on the scene of a decidedly one-sided fight. A mounted goblin is just thrusting his weapon deep into the side of a large wolf hound. His mount is a hideous creature; something like a hairless rat the size of a large dog.
Six goblins caper about at a distance, shouting encouragement and singing as their leader dispatches the hated dog. A well-dressed young man cowers behind a barrel, surely knowing it will be his turn next.
Korpi, Umlo and Grond may act in the surprise round. The others are a bit further behind, and will arrive on the scene and act on the following round, should they so choose.
Character status: Umlo is on 10/11 hp and Devrin on 7/10. All others are on full. Bless remains in effect for 2 more rounds.

Umlo |

Since Umlo has his Throwing axe out he hurls it into the Goblin riding the rat-dog thing...
Ranged Attack and Damage
Attack 18 +1Dex; +1BAB; +1 Goblin; +1 Bless=22
Damage 5+4str=9
"Arrggghhh Torag make my aim true and strike down this abomination" Umlo grunts as the throwing axe is hurled toward the goblin rider, arcing end over end in a perfect spiral its trajectory heading straight for the rider's chest...

Korpiklanni Horsekiller |

Korpi gives a cheer along with his fellow goblins as the dog falls. He may hate them, but he hates the filthy dog just a little bit more.
A moment later he launches himself at one of the capering goblin with another inarticulate shriek, hacking brutally at the creature's neck.
Using Power Attack. Atk 17; Dmg 7

Kyran Semnir |

Once his dagger connects (or misses) the hairless rat the goblin is riding, Kyran will charge, using the smite he never used earlier.
Attack: 21 (d20 = 12 +1 BAB +2 STR +2 Charge +3 Smite +1 Bless)
Damage: 8 (1d6 = 3 +2 STR +2 Charge +1 Smite)
Post faster, guys! :)

OOC
Its kind of hard Timespike, we are in the surprise round only. Grond, Umlo and Korpi get an action... we are waiting for Grond now. Somehow, you have provided 2 actions in 2 rounds that have yet to happen in rounds 1 and 2... Since we are still in the surprise round.... The good news is though is that Chris will know what to do for your guy in those 2 rounds....

Which was pretty much my point.

Grond Aardde |

Grond watches the mounted goblin slay the dog and shouts, "One life for another, Erzeugen Flamme!" He thrusts his hand out palm up as a swirling ball of fire appears there. Rearing back he flings the small fire ball at the goblins horrid mount.
Range Touch Attack (1d20+5=12)
Cast produce flame
Q: what is the terrain like around here, is there any grass or shrubbery and are any of the goblins in it?
I would love to post more often but in RL I work 60+ hrs a week, have a 3 yr old, and a pregnate wife. So much to do so little time.

Umlo |

Umlo pulls out his other throwing axe and hurls it at the rider if he is still up, if not he will throw it at one of the Goblins on foot. "Eat the steel of my axe you little waste of flesh!!" the hurled axe flies through the air with a bit of a wobble.
Attack and Damage roll.
Attack=12
Damage=5
hey no worries Grond real life always takes precedence

Chris Banks |

Town streets, no significant foliage or shrubbery.
Unprepared for an assault, the mount rears up as it is engulfed by flames, its rider hard-pressed to stay mounted. The axe he takes to the side doesn't help, but he keeps his seat, beady eyes focusing on his attacker. Korpi, meanwhile, ruthlessly hacks down one of the capering goblins, the rest realising that they have a fight on their hands. Still flush from their victory over the dog, they counterattack.
Korpi easily sidesteps a clumsy blow from the lead goblin, while the leader directs its horrible mockery of a dog at his attacker, howling "Stupid dwarf! Joprikki kills you!"
The yellowed teeth of the dog analogue miss their target, but Umlo finds himself dodging right into the path of the goblin's horsechopper, suffering a vicious slice to the leg (6 damage). Further attacks are interrupted by the arrival of the group's reinforcements.
A more formalised initiative order here, for convenience. Probably should have been doing this all along.

Grond Aardde |

Glaring at the rider, Grond unleashes another acid dart at the mount.
Range Touch Attack (1d20+4=22)
I just dont have any luck rolling damage with this new ability.

Devrin Vallis |

When he gets the change, Devrin charges the nearest goblin (not Korpi) aiming a sideways slice with his starknife as he nears.
atk, dmg (1d20+3=11, 1d4+2=6) +2 for charging.

Fernriddle Grumblefork |

Fern wouldn't have brought her crossbow with her, so she instead will resort to her chill touch. Touch: Attack 6, Damage 5
Swiping out at all the horrible creatures that come too near, Fern's grip pulls them toward an icy death.

Korpiklanni Horsekiller |

Atk 22; Dmg 7
Korpi, covered in gore and howling a savage battle-cry, leaps at one of the remaining goblins, again dispatching it with brutal fury.
As he stands on his foe's corpse, he feels exhaustion beginning to come over him; he's fought hard and its been at least an hour since his last real meal.
Next round Korpi's rage ends.

Chris Banks |

Grond's acid bolt fizzes into the mount's side, with little visible impact. Devrin fails to strike his own foe, taking a cut to the arm (2 damage).
Leaving Umlo to their leader, two of the remaining goblins attack Grond, seemingly preferring to deal with the weak mage rather than their frightening and blood-spattered kinsman. It is a fatal mistake for one, as Grond backpedals out of the way of their strikes, leaving Korpi to bore in from the side unopposed and slay one of the pair messily.
Umlo's remaining axe hisses through thin air, as the goblin leader ducks sideways. Though still bleeding heavily from his earlier wound, his eyes gleam with triumph. At least until Kyran's dagger slices into his mount's throat, causing it to drop with a gurgle.
Fern finds the swiftly moving goblins far too difficult to get any sort of grip on, though they seem a bit preoccupied to attack her in turn. One seems to be sneaking up on Korpi in somewhat exaggerated fashion, with the apparent intent of stabbing him in the back.
Egged on by cries of "Kill him, Boss-gob! Wear his beard as a hat!" from one ardent supporter, the leader jumps clear of his falling mount and directs what is clearly meant to be a finishing blow at Umlo. The blow has the desired effect, cutting deep into Umlo's side and dropping him (8 damage). Despite his triumph, the leader seems a little unsteady on his feet. It looks like the fight's taken a lot out of him.
Umlo is on -4hp, and will need to make a stabilisation roll this round. Five goblins and the leader remain, but Kyran does have that long-delayed smite coming in this round...

Umlo |

Grond Aardde |

Seeing Umlo fall enrages Grond and he curses the goblins in dwarven. He swings his warhammer with the might of Torag at the goblin that just failed to harm him.
Warhammer attack roll (1d20+3=14)
1d8+2=6 Damage Roll

Devrin Vallis |

Devrin sees Ulmo go down and immediately moves close to his side, sidestepping reality for a moment to avoid being caught by nearby goblins. Once there he summons Desna's will into his holy symbol and cures the dwarf.
Use Dimension Hop to travel 10' to avoid AoO, then move to Ulmo's side and convert Command into cure light wounds (1d8+1=8)

Umlo |

Umlo dreams of an anvil and smoke and the feeling of a hard day's work. The anvil is strong, he notices a butterfly land on the anvil, as Umlo reaches to touch this magnificient creature a cool feeling rushes to his extremities and fills his lungs as if he had just taken his first breath again. Consciousness rushes back to his mind his sight coming into focus. His mind hears a scratchy voice say "wear his beard as a hat" he sees a human kneeling over him with a radiance. Awkwardly Umlo states "Thank you". Umlo stands pulls out his Dwarven War axe and states to the Goblin rider, I think I like my beard where is is (Chris I am at school can you rool attack and damage for me).
I am on a plane today until 1 am eastern time tonight I will post soon after I land THANKS for the first aid and healing guys

Chris Banks |

Just catching up with the initiative for those who've posted so far.
"Yeah! Let Stumpy die!" one of the other goblins chimes in. Grond's angry blow barely misses the goblin in question, who skips hurriedly back out of range, unfortunately becoming tangled with one of his kinsmen in the process.
A chant goes up from the remaining three goblins, including the one 'sneaking up' on Korpi, "Kill the dwarf! Smash his brains! Kill the dwarf!"
Thanks to the short hop afforded by his travel domain, Devrin reaches Umlo before Kyran, patching the dwarf up nicely (back on 4 hp).
The vengeful dwarf draws another blow from the goblin leader as he rises up, but in his weakened state, Umlo manages to bat it aside with his axe. Unfortunately, his own blow is ruined by this move, leaving the pair stuck glaring at each other for the moment.
With this failure of their leader to follow through on killing the dwarf, the goblins look a little confused about what to do now. Still, it won't be long before they overcome their indecision and get stuck in once more.
As Umlo's already up and about by the time his turn rolls around, Kyran may select a new action. Korpi and Fern's actions are still to come for the round.

Korpiklanni Horsekiller |

Korpiklanni Horsekiller wrote:"No! Let Stumpy die!"Kyran shoots Korpi a withering glance. "I wouldn't let you die."
"I goblin! He a Stumpy!" Korpi shouts, turning to the other goblin 'sneaking' up behind him. He's tired, but not too tired to slash at the other goblin's throat.
Atk 24; Dmg 7 Rage is over so I'm now fatigued.

Smite evil. Goblin leader. Handaxe. Attack = 19 (d20=13 +2 STR +3 smite +1 BAB)
Damage = 9 (d6=6 +2 STR +1 smite)
"Strike you down, murderous beast!"
If he's far enough away to charge, he'll do so, making the attack 21 and the damage 11.
Egads. I rolled maximum damage on a smite and it came out to NINE. I feel so pitiful...
