How do I grab the depictions of the characters from the PDF of the adventure? Whenever I use the "select tool" it only creates box-like shapes. But many of the pictures I want to show my player are not box-like and using a box captures some of the surrounding text. Anyone know how to better create these visual aids?

I have had no problem pulling images from the pdf's with a grab tool in in the current version of Adobe Acrobat. They are usually a square but the background is transparent so I only get the image and nothing else. Are you using the arrow cursor or the hand? Even if you grab text, you should be able to erase all but the parts you want with an eraser tool in any photo editing program.

Well, I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 and under the advanced menu is an option called "Export All Images." I just tried it for the first time and sure enough the directory I pointed it to now has a copy of every image in the pdf as individual jpegs. I had to do quite a bit of cleaning as every line and border and background in the document is an image. But once I got rid of those I am down to the art that matters.

How do you grab the art without the backgrounds? If I use the Select Tool to copy the pics, when I paste them into PaintShop, their transparent black background becomes visible and is a real pain to get rid of. Is there any way around this?
Note: I'm not very good with PaintShop so if there is a technique to it, please provide a step-by-step walk-thru.
