What version of GIMP are you running now? I just upgraded, and had to re-learn everything again they changed so much!
Um, is that other program (for vector drawings) also freeware, like GIMP?
Cuz if so, please lead me to the link so I can check it out?
Thank you!
Inkscape. Also improved recently, I checked that one out today, too.
Check this one out, made with Adobe Illustrator. Why didn't he just take a picture?

reposting from 'need players' thread,...
Hey Pat, hope your feeling better.
Would you prefer us to move our chatter over here?
Get well soon!
LAters,...
Sounds like a plan. I was hoping to write little intro vignettes as soon as I find the time (and I'm not hallucinating whist puking) I will give it some thought once I see what you guys have for background..
Naridre Ro'Arisahshe
Background:
When she hit adolescence things changed. During an especially brutal 'lesson' she suddenly erupted with psychic power. It was enough to hurt her master, but not kill him and knowing that he would kill her if she was caught, she ran for her life. She had the advantage of a headstart and managed to get away. However she ended up alone in the wild without any equipment, food, or even adequate clothing. Somehow she managed to survive for several weeks before she was found by a passing adventuring company. One member of that company, a xeph psion named Majeed, took her under his wing and taught her to use her abilities.
Her upbringing taught her to fear everything, but part of her still rebels against that, and that part now resides in her psicrystal where it can best encourage her, enabling her overcome her fears when necessary. She is currently searching for her mentor, Majeed. He disappeared one day without a word of farewell and she is worried that something has happened to him. When she went searching, she found a portal to Sigil. She is overwhelmed by the city and doesn't know where to even begin looking.

Nice! Ok, I am working on getting this going. Lynora, you will have to help me with the psi stuff as we go along. I have never done it in a 3E setting, but I am really stoked to give it a try.
No problem. I'm just happy to get to play my favorite class :)

OKay, here is the blaster-caster. I need to finish him up, spend his money, double check stats (I think I used the wrong HP guide, there are 4 or 5 of them) and I seriously need to condense his background and personality sections! (I started writing another book) But he is basically complete. I need to write the background on the generalist Wiz. I'm leaning towards this one right now, though two sarcastic personalities in the group might get a little overmuch. (or they might be a great comedy act, who knows!?)

I kinda like this guy already!
Lady Bethany Archaise
Lady Bethany is getting there. She's pretty much done except for her main stats. I am just waiting on some info from Pat (no rush, please get better first!) to finish her off.
Background is coming along, but you guys are going to get an abridged version unfortunately. Pat will get the whole thing, though if any of you want to see the full version just drop me an e-mail (make sure you tell me who you are though). I should have it finished over the weekend and depending on when I get the info from Pat (once again, no pressure) I can finish her up pretty soon after that.

We going with Justin? I can write him in pretty easy, but I want to make sure he's the PC you want to use Rags.
Ragadolf
Yeah, let's roll with Justin. He's a little different than my usual Mage-of-all-seasons, (The other is the ultimate Wizard swiss army knife, you'll see!) And I think he'll be fun to play.
With your kind permission, I'll go ahead and finish my other and post his profile too, I'd like people's opinions on the character (Both Rp and stat wise) and if Justin bites it, I'll have another ready to go! (Here or in another game.)
Thanks Pat! get better!
EDIT- WHich formula are we using for HP? I used the 'Racial' because it gives you the most HP, adding hp to first lvl based on your race. But I seem to be a bit higher than the others average, especially for a caster.

I think we did 'Double for 1st then Standard if I remember correctly

Lovely! Thank you Pat! (for both posts!)
Thank you all in advance for letting me play with you!
No problem Rags, I think your play style will compliment this game extremely well.
As an aside for everyone: If you ever need to send me private correspondence you can always send it to:
spamreef[at]hotmail[dot]com. Just if there is something you want to talk about that is more sensitive than spoilers can cover. Also, please put your name in the subject or post that you sent something here so I know to look, it's my main email for commercial use, and gets a lot of traffic.

Got a quick question nothing that big or serious but just want to run it by you first.

As far as things for Isaac to do on the side, I kind of consider him like the roomate you have in college that you never see: he's just always out, with a completely different schedule from you. Only comes back to sleep and even then not that frequently. But he pays his share of the rent and he leaves you alone and isn't a jerk when he is around. That's kind of Isaac's relationship to Sigil: he would stop in, see his ladyfriend and a few other people and then he would be out again once another job came up. The routine's fallen apart and he's had to realize just how little time he's really spent in Sigil even though he's "lived" there for a few years. He's not Clueless, but he's not really well-lanned either.
He would likely keep an ear to the ground on the subject of Alissa, out of concern for her and a real desire to just see her again at least once. And he's been trying to get in the Godsmen's good book and maybe learn a few new things about the philosophy, maybe do favors for more senior members so they might sponsor him. He can also translate for someone trying to understand the ratatosk. He's also interested in naturalism: planar biology, things like that. So if he can scrape the jink together, he would go to some lectures or classes or just check out some books on the subject.
Ragadolf
Ack! That was a lot less fantabulous than I hoped it would be! I pretty much wrote myself into a corner there!
(Good thing I can claim that it's all part of Justin's "Charming" personality!) ;P
I'll get the hang of it, I was just way too busy/distracted today, and still wanted to get it in there!
going to get some sleep tonite, I'll see you all tomorrow, (When hopefully I will correct/ finish all of the things on my PC sheet!)
Laters,...
Ragadolf
SOunds great, thx.
First I need to fix my character! HP, shopping, et all (The other guy was much easier, He had the craft wonderous item feat, and made a lot of his own gear!) ;P
BAsed on the book(s) that I based the character on, I can provide a few NPC ideas, baddies as well as 'friends' if your interested.
Laters,
Patrick Curtin
Vulcan/Drazek: I looked at the Dark Speech feat. It looks ok, but it is VERY evil. Besides the CHA damage, if you use it in the hearing of others you stand the risk of gaining a reputation as a diabolist (not that in Sigil that's anything really bizarre). Just to let you know your character's reputation can be important in this game, so I wouldn't use it in public venues unless you want to proclaim your alegiance to the Dark side.
Patrick Curtin
Lynora/Naridre: There is an interesting NPC that our player Niel (who had to bow out) had brought in who was a psion: Quint, an 'experiment' of an illithid scientist trying to clone psionic blue goblins. He is basically five blue goblins that share a single conciousness. I'd like to save him, he was kinda an interesting idea. Later in the game we might have to introduce you, he/they could help you with your training ..

How do you calculate hp for 2nd Level and above? Do you take max hp, half (average) hp, or do we roll (using IC or another dice roller)?

Sounds good. I liked Quint. (Yes, I read well, most of the thread...I skimmed the last 500 posts or so.) I think that Naridre would get on well with him. Having been an experiment I think he would probably understand her better than most.

Heh. Dummy that I was I have never written a game 'bible' of all the NPCs and places I have created. I am facing rereading my ponderous prose and jotting down notes ..ugh ..
Hey, if you want to write up a short description for each I can be persuaded to draw some pencil head shots, maybe a full body thing for the important NPCs. I don't know much about layout, but we could look into making a pdf or something.

Yay, Excel Spreadsheet!
I have many an Excel Spreadsheet and/or Word Doc full of lists about absolutely nothing!
