Tikaani is going to try to trip the guy one more time...

I randomed what order the AOO hit with dice Anju's swing makes the man duck out of the way, leaving him with his weight low for when the wolf trips him. He falls prone and then Keth finishes him off the bonus for attacking a prone enemy allowed you to hit.

Did Arius' spell put the crossbow gusy to sleep? and can we see a new map?

Map

Branahm steps toward his fallen opponent and utters a prayer to Torag. The flow of blood from the man's wounds stops.

Branahm takes a 5' step and casts Stabilize.

Arius' spell goes off, and both guards fall to the ground, snoring.

Liz Keth and Arius

Spoiler:
You hear creaking on the boards above your heads

sorry this took so long, I had a few measurements to make

Anju will tie up the two guards much like she tied up Lamm. She seems to be getting used to this sort of thing.

Takaani Looks from the hallway to the doorway that you entered from, seemingly confused. His jowl up and teeth bared.

Liz: You see a 10X30 foot hallway at the final ten feet a set of stairs rises to the second floor.

Spoiler:
At the top of the stairs is a handsome young man in the livery of the Korvosan Guard. He Carries a longbow, and has a spear proped against the wall next to him. He looks at you with a snear and says your not the guard

Branahm and his brother help Anju tie up the guards until Elizabeth signals for them to follow.

Elizabeth takes one look at the man and smiles. "That's correct I'm not. An don't expect your friends to help you either. They are currently a little indisposed." With that, she throws out her free hand and a bolt of Acid splashes out towards the man, striking him in the face.

Branahm runs toward the guard, drawing his warhammer, and swings it toward the guard's bow.

Branahm attempts a disarm attack on the guard. Cap, you can decide how to handle the guard's AoO, but here is Branahm's opposed attack roll:

Disarm attempt on guard with crossbow (1d20+3=11)

If the Bless is still running, that should be a 12. Branahm will charge if he must to reach the guard, assuming that he can combine a charge with a disarm attempt.

The Archer on the stairs aims at Liz, preparing to fire as her second acid dart flys over his shoulder. At the last second his gaze tightens as he changes his aim - shooting his arrow through a ring in the wall and lodging it in the handle of the butcher knife that was discarded by the fallen guards. "I'm not a killer - Leave me alone, we're just feeding the hungry... I don't want to hurt you!"

[ooc]Good thing he rolled high on his perception check as he was checking Liz out... he rolled 2 natural 20s in a row to hit.. I doubt Liz could have taken 7 damage and 50% spell failure on verbal spells until healed - that was the critical hit I drew just to see what it would have been[ooc]

Deserters? pshaw! who do you think is helping more: the Guard, who beats the hungry in the street when they grow too large in number and become unruly, or those of us who left the guard and are trying to do something about the hunger? as you can see, the Diplomacy failed

Branahm keeps his eye on the disarmed guard, but does not attack.

"Verik, if you really want to help the poor, think about the consequences of what you're doing. Disorder only helps the Queen--it gives her an excuse to consolidate power over the city by claiming that the Guard is incompetent. And if you think things are bad now, just wait."

Diplomacy/Aid Another (1d20+6=16)

Here's another +2, Keth.

But otherwise people starve to death and that's not helping the poor either if they all die! What is more important in the long run keeping confidence in a crumbling system, or protecting those who would otherwise die!

Branahm notices that the disarmed guard is nervously shifting his weight and flexing his weapon-hand

Branahm braces for a possible attack.

He'll use total defense to boost his AC for this round.

"Verik Im through talkin. We are trying to help. If you can't see it, then we best get to fightin and give the victory to the Queen...for we both know thats what she wants!...and May Gozreh have mercy on both of us!"

Keth eyed the warrior hoping he would come to his senses..but fearing nothing good would come of this...he made sure he had a good grip on shield and axe.

Verik chuckles and fires at his new target (Arius) hits dc 11 for 7 points.
