Eric Zylstra wrote:I think that would be best. I'll delay if that's ok with Cap.Anju, you could always delay if you don't want to risk getting caught in the spell. That'll allow you to retain the option to act later in the round if necessary.
Arius will target his Sleep spell right between the two men; he'll try to catch only them in the 10' burst if possible.
Thats fine no one is shooting at Arius right now and he can place it to hit the two without having Liz in the 10' circle

Thanks for the map update.
Cap, I'm not sure what the initiative order is at the moment given our new opponent. Would you mind clarifying the order as well as the status of the sleeping guards (tied vs. untied)?
Liz, Keth, Anju, and Garth, it seems as if we have the initiative at the moment, so my preference would be to follow Liz's lead and push forward. What say you?

Sorry to hear about the job, Keth. I'm glad that you found something else quickly.
Yes, Sorry to hear about the hard times, Dread. Let me know if you need any more time to finished getting situated - I can NPC Keth if you need it (although it seems like you got back on track pretty quickly)

Hey, Cap--Arius is ready to respond to Verik, but should he wait for his turn in the next round? I'm wondering if the exchange has taken enough time for the other PCs to have an action.
If so, Anju's up. If not, let me know, and Arius will continue blabbing.
It's Tikaani's turn but I'm wondering if I should attack or not. I'm thinking of having him trip either Verik or the unarmed guard. If we trip Verik that would make it easier to pummel him with non-lethal damage so we can still bring him in alive.

Verik's on the stairs still just as a FYI

I think I'm gonna pass on Tikaani's turn this round. I don't want to mess up any chance of changing Verik's mind.

Just letting you know, tomorrow will pretty much be my last day postin' (give or take a quick dip here and there before the 27th) until 5th of January.
Have a good Chrissy and a Happy New Year and I'll look forward to PbPing with you all again next year.
yeah - the next week is going to be hit or miss for me too. I think the GF has 14 days off, and I'm with her 10 or those..

I'm in a similar situation. I'll check when I can, but will be busy entertaining family from tomorrow night till about New Year's.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
Same here, I've already taken quite a beating. I've taken up a part time job in retail for the holiday alongside my regular job so yeah...no time to do anything >.<
Happy holidays and a happy new year to all!

Cap,
Since it's the beginning of the year, this seems like a good time to say thanks again for running the game. I have two pre-gaming-age kids and a time-intensive job, so this currently is my main outlet for RPGing with other humans.
Thanks for the kind words, and I have to say that if any of you start up your own PBP game, I'm willing to write up a character and give it a go

I was waiting for a "Soylent Green is people!" moment with the meat, but here's a new theory: The meat is drugged with something that will make people more aggressive/more suggestible. Does this sound as if it's worth checking out?
I do find it interesting that the only room that was actively searched was the office though

Everyone who hasn't read the RPG superstar entries, Craig (Liz's player) made the top 32: linky congrats!

Okay, here's a proposed plan:
1) finish shaking down the guardsmen for information;
2) with luck/Diplomacy, getting Verik to 'fess up to his backer;
3) taking 20 on a search of the other rooms to collect any evidence or clues, using people with decent Perception (i.e., Arius and Liz); and
4) taking the captives back to Kroft.
What do you think?

Regarding order of searching:
Updated map
How about B5 (the animals?), followed by B1 (the kitchen), B3 (the meat room), B4 (the room with the prisoners), and then end up with B2 (the hall) and the stable? My understanding is that Liz and Arius already searched B7 and B8 in the upstairs.
Of course, if we hear or see any signs of live captives or remaining guards, we should probably go there first, as well as keeping guards on the prisoners and doors open so that we can hear each other.
Opinions?

Anju et al.:
I'm not all that attached to any specific order, but I would like to make an early check of the animal and kitchen areas with at least a quick sweep in case that there are any more captives there for "processing." I think that Anju already did a quick inspection of the meat storage area, and I think that she or Tikaani would have noticed anyone there in a sack.
We can follow up with a more intensive search in whatever order that you'd like.
