He takes the food you throw and does not eat it right away but carries it back into the area of the huts.

"Toll collectors! This is getting very civilized here," complains Larjen.

Continuing down the path, you are approaching the bandit camp. How would you like to proceed? On horseback? On foot? Charge in full speed? Sneak up slowly? Send a scout in first? Go in as a group?

Male Human Fighter (2)

I vote for 'Go in as a group on foot as quietly as possible.'

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

Agreed. We could barely cope with a few of them, just rushing would be suicide.

I'll need 'move silently' rolls from everyone. What are you going to do with the horses?

Male Human Fighter (2)

1d20-6=-4
Horrible.
[-4]
Kornelius makes clanking noises.
The horses should be taken care of.

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Move silently - [10,-1] = (9).

Yaja's studded leather armour creaks as she hefts her trusty crossbow.

"I will try and provide ranged cover for you all. We should tie the horses out of sight perhaps."

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

move silently: move silently (1d20+5=12) Uema cautiously moves with the group into the enemy camp with his oak staff at the ready.

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

Move silently [10,6] = (16)

Lion quietly moves forward, fists at the ready.

Here is a map of the bandit camp.

The guards across the bridge have heard something. There are two of them and they wear leather armour and carry shortswords. They are coming towards you but have not seen you yet.

There is a pen with pigs and a place for horses to run around in.

You see another hut that is also guarded.

Take some time to make plan both about how to handle these guards and how to take over the camp.

Also, you should probably make a roll to 'hide check' if you decide to do that.

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

hide check: Hide check (1d20+4=7) not hiding

Uema whispers to his companions " I am going to pretend to have escaped from a boggard attck, when the guards come jump out at them" Uemala drops his staff and starts limping slowly, crunched over down the path. [ooc] Bluff: Bluff (1d20=16)

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Yaja readies her crossbow and steps as quietly as possible into the shelter of the trees. She holds her aim, ready to fire when the bandit guards come within 30 feet.

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

Lion lurks with yaja, ready to charge when they come in range(60ft).

Male Human Fighter (2)

"Good plan. They might believe my armour clanking was the sound of fighting."

Kornelius attempts to hide amongst the trees.

The guards walk forward and when they see Uemala, they laugh and say "Hey look, we don't even have to hurt this one. He comes already hurt for us!".

They walk towards the 'wounded' monk.

At the last second, one of the guards sees the three people hiding (Larjen stayed back with the horses and Ogre for now) and tries to grab his fellow bandit's arm to warn him while drawing his sword with the other hand.

Surprise Round 1 -- All of you get to attack. Make it fast or they might call for help.

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Yaja aims at the guard drawing his sword and lets fly, aiming for his throat. "Be silent" she says darkly as she releases the trigger.

[12,3] = (15), damage [7,1] = (8)

She reloads her crossbow.

Male Human Fighter (2)

"HA!
Take that!"
1d20+4,1d10+3=[11, 4], [7, 3]
"Take a bit o' that!"

Kornelius has now grabbed his oppoment and is pointing his sword at his oppoments mouth.
"Don't you DARE say anything!"

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

attack;stunning fist Stunning fist (1d20=18) +2 for STR =20 damage:damage (1d6 +2=8)
Uema launches his fist into one of the guards fase.

Between the arrow, the sword, and the fist, the guards were taken down quickly and quietly. You glance back towards the camp. It doesn't seem like anyone saw you. You can see that two guards are standing outside one of the huts but they have not looked your way.

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Which hut are the guards standing next too? Need to have some idea of range if possible.

They are standing in front of a large hut near the horses. The horses may also block your shot if you try a ranged attack from where you are.

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

Lion wispers his plan to Yaja. "Look, if I may suggest a plan. If me and Uemala swim across the river behind the pig pens then we could easily sneak up on the guards, Kornelius, though our best fighter, would have to hang back and charge if and when things get nasty, as his armour is far to heavy to sneak. Yaja, if you could get cover behind the bridge then you would have free and unseen fire with you're crossbow (he's only being this polite because he likes planning battles)."

Is this possible?
Can we swim the river?

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Yaja relays Lion's plan to Uemala and Kornelius.

Lion of Irori wrote:

The river is not too fast. You will probably be pulled downstream a bit but make it across. You will have to make a swim check each.

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

"Great plan, I'm in." Uema whispers. Swim check (1d20+2=9) Uema follows Lion quietly into the river.

Male Human Fighter (2)

Kornelius says
"Great!"
I am happy about the charging part.

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

Lion heads towards the river.
Swim Check [9,6] = (15)

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Crouching low to keep herself from being seen, Yaja moves quickly to the side of the bridge and readies her crossbow.

Irori guide us all.

Uemala and Lion get into the water near the bridge. The water is not very deep and they don't need to swim very far. They come out of the water rather muddy near the pig pen.

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

Uema stealthily moves past the two pens and stops exactly behind the large hut. url=http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1565912/]Move silently (1d20 +5=23)[/url]

Uemala Neddam wrote:

Okay. What is Lion doing?

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

Lion follows

Move silently:[16,6] = (22)

Both Lion and Uemala manage to make it behind the hut without being heard or seen. Well, the horses have heard and seen you but they aren't telling anyone.

It is difficult to hear anything from inside the hut over the noise of the animals but you can make out a low, pained moaning from within.

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

There's two of us and two of them, so they're flat footed? ( say yes)

"Uemala, suppose we both hit one guard at once and take him down? We can signal Yaja and Korney to take out the second one as we move. Then we can mop up guard two and check out the moaning in the hut, Unless you have any better idea's."

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

If the hut is made of something we could break quietly, like straw, we should break a small hole. But if it's not, let's go with Lion's plan. If I need it: Search;Attack;Damage (1d20=9, 1d20+2=12, 1d6+2=5)

Uemala Neddam wrote:

The hut is made of a combination of straw, mud, and sticks. It could be cut through with a dagger or sword but not quietly.

The guards are busy in conversation with each other and can be attacked by surprise.

Was that your attack roll for one of the guards, Uemala, or for the hut?

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

The attackroll is for the guards, since I don't have a dagger.

Lion?

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Lion will be attacking in about 7 hours time. I dare not roll for him - I'm bound to get it wrong. Just a thought on this. It might be helpful to have some saved rolls so combat doesn't grind to a horrible halt due to time zones?

Yaja wrote:

Let's get 4 initiative rolls and 4 perception rolls from everyone. I'd rather not start making assumptions about attacks though.

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

Perception being what in this case? I didn't think we were Alpha on this one ... if so I'll need to change my skills and so will Lion.

Male Human (Shoanti) Monk 1

inititive rolls

1d20+2 ?¨ [16,2] = (18)
1d20+2 ?¨ [2,2] = (4)
1d20+2 ?¨ [1,2] = (3)

In the meantime Lion jumps out and does a swift combo on the guard

Flurry of blows
1d20+3 ?¨ [12,3] = (15)Damage:1d6+3 ?¨ [2,3] = (5)
1d20+3 ?¨ [9,3] = (12) Damage:1d6+3 ?¨ [1,3] = (4)

Uemala and Lion catch their foe by surprise and both land a hit or two on him. He falls to the ground unconscious.

The other guard, surprised, turns and gapes.

Yaja wrote:

1d20+2 ?¨ [3,2] = (5)
1d20+2 ?¨ [9,2] = (11)
1d20+2 ?¨ [1,2] = (3)

extra init roll
1d20+2 ?¨ [18,2] = (20)

Cool. That was fast. Kornelius is at school for another hour but Yaja can take an action now.

Female Shoanti (skull clan) Cleric 20

As Uemala and Lion spring from hiding and floor the first guard, Yaja takes careful aim at his gaping colleague and fires.

1d20+3 ?¨ [11,3] = (14)
x-bow damage (1d8=7) (in case that's a hit)

She looks triumphantly across at Korney. "Looks like the plan is working - ready to move?"

M Shoanti (Human) Monk/1

Spotchecks: 1d20+2 ?¨ [10,2] = (12)
1d20+2 ?¨ [15,2] = (17)
1d20+2 ?¨ [9,2] = (11)
1d20+2 ?¨ [6,2] = (8)

1d20+4 ?¨ [6,4] = (10)
1d20+4 ?¨ [7,4] = (11)
1d20+4 ?¨ [3,4] = (7)

Initiative: 1d20+2 ?¨ [2,2] = (4)
1d20+2 ?¨ [11,2] = (13)
1d20+2 ?¨ [7,2] = (9)
1d20+2 ?¨ [13,2] = (15)

Attack: Attack flurry of blows (1d20+2=20, 1d6+2=4, 1d20+2=13, 1d6+2=8)
In case the either guard is still standing.

After his first strike Uemala follows Lions lead and unleashes a furious attack on any guard that's still standing!

Male Human Fighter (2)

Kornelius fires his borrowed short bow (1d20+1=20; 1d6=5).

Between Kornelius and Yaja, the second guard is down without making a noise.

Yaja wrote:

"Yep. I forgot to ask Lord Kerrigan ... We are getting rewarded, right?" says Kornelius half-jokingly as he follows Yaja.
