You had mentioned in your email that we could make a bigger version of the temple sword. If you'd just like it longsowrd-sized, that's cool with me.
I'd prefer the standard (longsword-sized) temple sword, but we can make a bastard sword version if you want. Found treasure will more likely be longsword-sized, though.
hey - and cross-class skill don't cost double ranks. Takes a bit to get used to. I have adjusted my skill ranks (23 skills at 2 ranks each = 40 level 1 and 6 level 2. Right?)
Sorry, still not right. :(
No skills have any ranks starting off. You get 10 ranks (6 +3 Int +1 human) for your ranger level, and 6 ranks (2 +3 Int +1 human) for your wizard level, for a grand total of 16 ranks. You divide those among whatever skills you choose, class or cross-class. No skill can have more than 2 ranks (equal to your HD), and class skills gets a +3 class bonus (cross-class skills get no bonus, so no double cost). BUT you must have at least 1 rank in the skill to get the +3 class bonus.
So at the most, you can have 16 skills at 1 rank each, OR 8 skills at 2 ranks each, OR somewhere between the two.
Also, there have been some skill changes from Alpha to Beta (for example, no more Theft skill). Take a look back at Beta and make sure you're using the Beta skills.
Based on your original 1st level Alpha skill selections, I recommend something like the following:
Heal (2 ranks, +3 class, + any bonuses)
Linguistics (2 ranks, +3 class, + any bonuses)
Perception (2 ranks, +3 class, + any bonuses)
Spellcraft (2 ranks, +3 class, + any bonuses)
Stealth (2 ranks, +3 class, + any bonuses)
Survival (2 ranks, +3 class, + any bonuses)
Swim (2 ranks, +3 class, + any bonuses)
That is 16 skill ranks, your total at 2nd level.
All of your other skills (class or cross-class) only get your ability bonus. Of course, you can adjust this, by dropping a rank in 1 skill and adding it to another, but you had at least 1 rank in all of the above when you first created Indo.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

HA!
So, there are no cross-class ranks and there are no x4 ranks at first level. Got you.
I am sorry about the hold-up. Obviously I haven't made time to read my book yet, just checking out class features and other changes as they've come to me.
Hopefully everything is right now.
Right, the +3 class bonus replaces the x4 at 1st level.
One last problem:
You've got 17 ranks of skills listed, but you only have 16. So drop a rank out of one of your skills, please.
And your 1 rank in Linguistics learns you a new language.
And finally, can you just add a note to your "Special Rules" that you're using the UA combat wizard variant? And list your chosen favored class? (I believe it's wizard, right?)
It's easier for me to remember these things if they're written down. :)
And that should do ya!

I'll get Skittle levelled up in the next 24 hours. The added HP will be nice - he's fun to play, but he's been taken some beatings.
Tio, my thoughts are with you. I've been trying to think of something uplifting, and was drawing a blank. However, life provides its own answers. I do a lot of estate planning work, and I've heard two stories in the last week or so about couples who were not supposed to be able to have kids, and then did. I can't, of course, say that'll happen, but I would say, just keep your hearts open. Life is a strange adventure, and no one ever knows where their road will take them.

Sorry guys, my internet has been down for the last few days, so that's why I haven't been posting. Unfortunately, it's still not working, and I don't really have internet access at work (mainly because I have a "workplace" per se). Hopefully it will be back up by the beginning of the week, but you never know - I'll let you know when they finally fix whatever problem they're having so I can post regularly again.
As FW would say,
Cheers

Guys, sorry for the long absence. I cannot believe it took a week to repair whatever problem my ISP had. Unplanned internet outages are no fun. And unfortunately, since I'm a teacher, I don't really have an office with a work computer.
But I'm back online now! And I'm updating the game thread even as we speak.
Liet, Skittle - any progress on leveling up? You get more hit points... :)

Hey guys, I have someone interested in joining the game. I haven't heard from Shane (playing Pindara) in some time, and thought you might like another arcane caster (or perhaps a fighter?) to round out the mix.
Let me know what you think - I don't want to kick Shane out of his spot, but I don't want to keep running Pindara waiting for him to come back. If he does come back, I willing to run with 7 characters.
Thoughts/comments?
Larcifer
Hey guys I would be the 7th guy. I am already in a game with French Wolf and have played in a game he has ran. (Ingrahild Hammerstrum and Vladimir Wilhelm) So FW you should have an idea on my posting habits. I am open to taking over Pindara, I am also open to a new character, I thought I'd pose the option to the group as I do not want to step on Shane's toes if he is just offline due to some unseen reason. If we decide I make a new character, is there a hole that needs to be filled? Anyway wanted to say hi, and that I am looking forward to this opportunity to game with you guys. Thanks :).
French Wolf

Larcifer - you are most welcome. I can vouch for you.
As for your character, this is what we have.
Skittle - a gnome ranger
Indo - a jungle fighter/minor mage combo
Pindara - human sorcerer
Bedu - dwarf bard
Liet - human cloistered cleric
Lotus - human rogue
So you see the field is wide open, if Pindara returns. Otherwise an arcanist would be good.
Perhaps ancientsensei can let us know about Steve and if he gone for good or not?
Cheers

A while back I saw a post with Rob's Iskandria feats and such does anyone have a link to this? Thanks in advance, and if I do make a new dude up is it level 2 or 1? much appreciated!
Here's the link to the original thread with all that info.
Some things may have changed since the conversion to Beta. I'll let you know any changes based on what you choose.
Use PF Beta rules, 20-point buy for abilities.
2nd level, but average 1st-level starting gold

Hmmmm. I've actually considered bowing out. The game is certainly fun, and I like the characters alot (especially Bedu), but I feel like everyone's always waiting for me to post. Work & life have been nuts, and I'm in a couple of games. The only problem has been decided which game to cut out. I also feel like Skittle hasn't done much other than take a couple of beatings, so maybe this would be a good time for me to step aside.

It's up to you, Billzabub. To be honest, I would like to see more posts from you (and a couple of others). I try to post at least once a day, and I'd like my players to make an effort to do the same. Anything less means less enjoyment for those who do make the effort. But I certainly understand how life can get in the way, and I don't want to force people out of a game they're enjoying. Unfortunately, this game is heavily-focused on dungeon crawls (exploring ancient ruins and so forth), where there's a lot of action, and so a lot of posts are required.
Again, it's up to you. I just wanted to let you know my thoughts. Just let me know what you decide.

Hey sorry for the delay, Open call is killing me! I will do a savage Human or Elf Wizard, from a jungle tribe, not very Civilized and worships dinosaurs, a favoured servant of the Rainbow Serpent, but he has not been introduced to the organization. The Rainbow Serpent favours him....Unless that is way too left field Rob, let me know.
I am assuming the rainbow serpent is a coutal(spelling)???

Hey here is Hammurabi the former Charlatan now jungle hermit, please feel free to look over and see if he fits the Iskandria feel. Also please make sure I did not miss anything thanks guys and eager to start.....
Larcifer:
Also, although you have left the order, the Charlatans might not so easily be willing to relinquish you. If you ever meet up with them and they recognize you, there could be problems...
And finally, as a former Charlatan, you have no ID papers and are an unregistered spellcaster, so you are considered a dangerous fugitive in Iskandria. You might want to see about getting some forged papers ASAP, as the law can check ID on anyone and arrest anyone without it. Just want to make sure you understand where you are story-wise in the campaign.
Regarding the Rainbow Serpent, there isn't really a god called the Rainbow Serpent, although there is an underground resistance organization called the Order of the Rainbow Serpent. Couatls do exist in the Viridian Jungle, however, so you could certainly have had a vision of one, or even an actual visitation! If you want to tie it to your worship of dinosaurs, that's fine, too. One interesting point: You may have noticed the snake motif in the current adventure, and couatls and nagas are sworn enemies. Perhaps there's a connection...
Your character looks mostly good. Here's the few issues I found:
Skills: Look fine, but can you please write out an explanation of your skills, such as: Appraise +9 (2 ranks, +3 class, +4 Int). It just helps me keep track of things better.
Please specify your Craft skill.
Handle Animal: if you want, you can take a small dinosaur as a familiar for your arcane bond instead of your glaive. Of course, waiting to find and train one is fine too.
Linguistics: The Beta version of the Charlatan of Almudin feat replaces the +2 Decipher Script bonus with a straight +2 bonus to Linguistics.
Languages: I hadn't really thought of giving the Charlatans their own language, but if you want to have a secret language like Druidic that only they know, that's fine. And you get 4 bonus languages for your Intelligence, so pick another language too.
EDIT: Feats: Whoops! FW is right, Weapon Focus has that pesky +1 BA prerequisite. You can take it at 3rd level, but for now, you'll need to choose another feat. Sorry.
Traits: No, we're not doing traits. The Iskandria bonus feat replaces those.
Class Abilities: What are your 2 prohibited schools? Based on your spell choices, I'm assuming Enchantment and Illusion, right?
Please list which ability score you're enhancing with your specialist bonus (it doesn't matter now, but it might if you take some ability damage).
Spells: Unfortunately, I'm restricting all spellcasters to core-only spells. So please replace blades of fire and critical strike with 2 other spells from Beta.
Equipment: You might want to purchase a spell component pouch, if you're planning on casting any spells with material components. :)
Also, how old is Hammurabi?
And that should do ya!
Coming into the game:
Pay attention to the game thread, and I should be able to introduce you in a day or two.
Let me know if you have any questions!
DM Iskandria
Hey guys I had a chance to adjust Hammurabi, please check to see if I missed anything. Thanks guys!
Everything looks good! Thanks for making the changes I requested. I'm especially plpeased you're playing a Charlatan - I was thinking of bringing in a DMPC Charlatan, and now I don't have to. I also like your choice of Charlatanic Theme - looks pretty cool!
And one final thing:
DM Iskandria
Guys, I've talked to Radavel and he says he needs a break from the game. I'm not sure if that means he'll just be away for awhile or if he's dropping out of the game. Still haven't heard from Shane, and as you know, Billzabub is having trouble keeping up as well.
For the moment, I'll keep DMPCing their characters, but we may need to see about recruiting more players. Then again, Larcifer's about to join you, giving you a party of 4, which is enough. I've been bumping up the difficulty of things a bit for a party of 6, but we could easily go down to four, and you'd get more XP!
Just think about it and we'll move forward from there once the current encounter(s) is/are resolved.

HI everyone I just thought I would pop in and say that of you're looking for more players I would be interested In joining in
I'm not opening it up for new players yet, Kevin, but keep an occasional eye over here (or in Gamer Connection) if I decide to do so in the near future.

He co-wrote one of the Pathfinder Society scenarios (#10 Drakwald Manor).
Tio, you and me both need to get writing!
Cheers
Apparently so, he wrote it with Shane Cotten, another of our PBP (although semi-retired)...
I already downloaded the magic item creation rules for Beta.
