It’s the first time it’s every been #1 and #2 in the same state, and the first time the same state had to play each other.
I grew up in West TN but went to UT…I guess I’m cheering for the Vols.

Maybe it's the first time in TENNESSEE that it's been #1 and #2 in the same state, but UNC and Duke have played each other several times over their rivalry when they were ranked #1 and #2. They are both in North Carolina.
BTW, glad to see Tennessee won. Memphis was getting too big for their britches.
Actually...the Tennessee/Memphis game was not very well played by either team IMO. It was an exciting finish, but neither team played to their potential.
