Buliding a Scale Model of Divided's Ire

Savage Tide Adventure Path

Our group was lucky enough to have played with the scale built model of Dragotha’s lair. It made quite an impression on us. Well now I play on making several scale models for our group starting with Divided's Ire. My question is does anyone have any good websites they know of for supplies or any books that can help me out with the model building? Also looking and counting the squares for Divided's Ire it looks like that thing is going to be 8 foot by 5 ½ feet is that right?

The diagram of the wreck thread has some good suggestions. Do you have a lot of lego?

If you are just talking about the prison floorplan, then I think you are a bit short. Can someone check my math?

The scale on that map is 10' squares. I did a rough count (sure I missed a few) and arrived at 1000' by 720' for the size of the prison.

1000 ft / 5 ft/inch = 200 inches = 16.7 feet.

similarly
720 ft / 5 ft/inch = 144 inches = 12 feet.

Cheers!

Yeah that place is pretty big. It would be tough to do a scale 3-D model of it. It has a lot of rooms too, which means lots of walls. I think in someways it would be tougher than trying to build the wreck.

Check out this website-

Go to World Works Games

They have alot of models you could use.

Thanks guys. I thought my mah was off but I didnt know it was off that bad lol. I will keep looking in to it I hope to make it though. We have several places we play so we have plenty of room. It looks also like I could just build pices at a time or talk with my DM and see if there are just some places that have nothing in them.

You might consider making (possibly with this) the following three pieces (mounted on 8.5"x11" boards):

1) A 10' wide, 55' long hallway lined with 15'x15' jail cells
2) A 40'x 55' room
3) An intersection of a 15' wide hallway and a 20' wide hallway (with a room of various size in each of the four corners).

By combining these three pieces in various ways, you can create a (suitable enough) 3-D representation of most areas in the Divided Ire. It doesn't have to be a perfect match for the other players to enjoy it. You can then plan with your DM for any special areas desired.

I did something similar when I ran barrier peaks.
