As we go through our day we sometimes come to a realization that there are those around us who are important enough to us that their presence in our lives brightens and brings joy to our sometimes joyless lives.
Now I am not sure about most of you but I sometimes forget to mention this to them; I say that 'I tell them they are my friends or loved ones all the time therefor they should know.' Well guess what? They are not mind readers...So this thread will allow us to mention those we know....some of which actually read these boards and serve as a reminder that we should appreciate them more.
First Up:
I realize that most of you know this wonderful woman from her time here on the boards or got the wonderous opportunity to meet her in person at GenCon 2007 but there is so much more to this dynamic woman that needs to be recognized:
We met more then a decade ago and became friends; through the course of our knowing eachother we both have had hard experiences which would have knocked most people flat on their asses but not Lilith...She has recovered from those in no small part to her tenacious and twisted sense of humor and direction. These qualitites are quiet infectious with no cure in sight. (not that I would want one mind you) She likes to look on the bright side of things no matter how she feels inside. Oh do not get me wrong. If you step too hard on her toes she will not hesitate to let you know about it....Oddly enough though it takes alot to get her to say you are no longer her friend and oddly enough I have never heard her say that about anyone. Anyone who has been on the recieving end of one of her Random Glompings knows the joy that can bring to an already bad day.....and if you don't...Ask some of the people on the boards or ask my co-workers....Or....Be her friend. She is smart; funny; and talented.
We have been a couple for a decade next July 4th and that is the day we will be a wedded couple. Now as there is in any couple there is always strife. Two people living together under one roof for long periods of time tend to get on each others nerves. Such is the case with the two of us...There are things that we both do that drives the other person into a frothing rage that would make a Beholder proud and a Berserker run in fear. However; and this is big However. Without her in my life on even one of those bad days I would be crankier then ever and one unhappy person.
Now I will Sing some of her Rated PG Praises:
1. She makes one excellent cup of coffee.
2. Her sense of humor even at it's most twisted forces me to laugh even when I do not realize I need to.
3. Her sense of loyalty is unmatched anywhere by anyone I know.
4. Her compassion for people she cares deeply about is unrivaled.
5. Her tolernce toward my idiosyncracies.
6. Her tolerance and understnding in general.
7. She loves me no matter what. (I Hope Anyway :) )
8. Her tolerance of my sometimes bad cooking.
9. Her wonderful Sheperds Pie!!!
10. Her thoroughly pleasent Sausage and Apple Stuffing
11. Her delectable Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Pie.
12. Her devious GMing which has left me sweating profusly after a gaming session.
13. Her incredible wit and sense of timing.
14. Her smile.
15. The fact that I am her 'Squishy' and not just her boyfriend :)
16. Her incredible intellect and talent. (Her doodles blow most peoples extensive art work away)
17...wait....oops if I put down a 17 then it will no longer PG!!!!
There are three points of evidence which exemplify all the joys of liz better then I could ever mention.
1. When we were first getting together I was worried that I would not meet her expectations...Her reply: "I will love you no matter what and will accept you both good and bad." She has never once given me reason to doubt her statement.
2. When my mom died some years ago liz stuck by me through it all. Arguably the toughest time of my life.
3. I have recently gotten in touch with family on the east coast who I have never met...That's right...Never met!!! Liz knows I want to meet them and she OFFERED to pay for the trip!!! I will say this again as it is important...She offered to pay for the trip. Now regardless of the surrounding issues that have arisen concerning this and despite the fact that I would be expected to pay her back for this she has offered to pay for the trip. No matter how any of the surrounding issues turn out the offer was exceptionally appreciated and will never be forgotten. How many people we all know would do something like that??? In my life...Only one!!!
In Conclusion I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the Presence of Lilith in my life no matter what happens and would find myself wholly and completely lacking if she were not.

Dude! That is awesomely sweet! I've enjoyed having Lilz as a friend and can't wait to see her again at GenCon 08. It was rad that she got to go last year after her surgery and I know that you were very concerned for her health. I bet she was blushing after seeing your post.

Not telling you anything you don't know but......
You are a blessed man. My few interactions with her on the messageboards over the last couple years have left me with smiles on my face, warmness in my heart, and a serious case of Glompitis. To have that around, face to face, on a daily basis for 10 years must be truly fantastic.
Best of luck with married life and don't forget to post your Paizo Registry page, maybe some of us can toss some gear your way in congratulations. ;P

Funny that this Post reminds me of my life, our story is very close.
My girls name is Lisa(Oji) on the boards. We met back in 1991 through friends, although I was in a relationship with a younger woman, there was something about Lisa we had a connection and kindred spirit. However she was married. Time rolls by 1992 my younger girlfriend informs me shes pregnant, our relationship was kinda rocky however this sorted out that mess for awhile. I worked my bum off, provided everything from support,time,energy, everything a woman could want.
1993 she gives birth to my son Ryan, everything goes well he's a healthy boy. As time difts by I'm so busy with work I fail to see that this woman is cheating on me and hanging out with her nefarious slut-bag friends, We seperate for a few months then like a fool I try again cuz hey this is my little family. We go maybe six months then one day she tells me she's moving to New York with her friend, she tells me she has fallen in love with another man, a man in jail WTF!!!.
Ok beyotch I'll see you in court cuz listen honey you ain't draggin my boy off on your whore tour of the world. Bam in your face I win full custody cuz my sh!ts together. The Judge did't care for her so called reasons to move to New York without anyone there to aid her and well her whole family backed me up. She spends two-years waiting for this guy to get out of jail, my sons like 2 1/2 when she leaves.(Oh yeah when he gets out he runs off with another woman! Karma Police!)
During this time I go through two small relationships myself although nothing comes of those. I focus more on my son anyway. Fast forward 1997 I run into Lisa at Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire(I did see her off and on during years between at summer events such Barbques we had a lot of the same friends.)
She was going through a divorce,we hooked after the fair had a few date and fell in love, she finished school She's now a english teacher with a Masters degree, she is awesome!We've been together ever since my son refers to her as mom and we've seen his birth mother from time to time as she wanders in from god knows where! In all this time I've gotten $80.00 from this woman as child support!in 14years!
My son got a few gifts from her on his birthday (when she would remember) but nothing that really met anything to him. She recently has made contact again(After 3 years of silence!), I don't deny her from seeing him, but I let him decide he's a man
now not alittle kid and that's how she treats him, sad really a mothers loved can't be forced!.
So Lisa and Ryan our the most important people in my life and what would I be without them, I don't even wanna think about that. We've been together a 11 years this May, so I'm gonna marry this woman for she truly is the greatest person I know such a big heart, warm smile and the most giving person I've ever known! My mother died in 2002 and that was indeed a dark time for me and Lisa really helped me through it all.
Thanks for your story man, congrats to you and Lilith she is one of the coolest chicks on the paizo boards and very helpful and funny Lilith keeps it real. This has got to be the longest post I've ever did.
