Wait, it's SUMMERTIME?
I work for a college, Isn't there supposed to be a break, or at least a SLOW period for a little bit?!? What happened?!?!?! ;P
Thanks for the update Messier Wolfe, I shall persevere with my good friend and await your return!
Hope you have fun without DnD! (I'm sure you'll think of something!);)

(Bump) ;)
Just letting y'all know that I'm still here.
I presume from our mutual silence that we are on sabbatical until our fearless Wolf returns? Or do you want to continue the RP mode? I'm good for a casual conversation regarding 'evil intent/use' vs 'evil items' ;)
Either way. Hope everyone is doing well,
Laters!

Stupid board monster.... Why does he only strike when I don't copy the text? Oh well here goes again. A little shorter though.
Work has been extra busy with the boss going on vacation. He has been going over all kinds of stuff that needs to be done. Anyway, I will get that post up tomorrow. Maybe tonight depending on how tired I am. Sorry about that.

Have fun!
I think that Fazaam is gonna try (harder) to talk Fudrick into taking them. (He would take them, but he's no dummy, getting zapped once was enough! He has the feeling that walking across that floor alone would be an extraordinarily BAD idea!) Fudrick gets good vibes from the 'prescence' here, and the flames and spikes shut down for him. I think that's a clear clue that the goddess is smiling on him! At least, that's how Fazaam's gonna present it to him!

Is there something here that makes at least 3 of us Qadirians?
Oh I wouldn't be mean enough to NOT let Fazaam try to loot those items. I was hedging my bets that Mr. Wolf will let it play out. If the item was there to help us (or maybe curse us?) then he would make sure to leave a way to retrieve it. At least that was my hopes when Fudrick tossed the items back in :) So far my hunch has paid off. Of course now that I have voiced my plan the almighty Wolf may decide otherwise. Hopefully after you make your attempt you will still have your body parts. ;)
Again Mr. Wolf, I would like to thank you for letting us tell the story of your campaign setting.

Cool, I hope he gets back on his PC's feet soon!
Re: my own issues,...
FYI- I am closing on a house next Tuesday. SO, between that, and having to move out of (and clean) the apartment in 5 days, (AND have a daughters B-day party!) on top of all the usual interruptions that moving brings to web-based communication, I may not be my usual chatty self next week.
I will have access to a PC at work, but I need to actually DO work sometime, and I plan on not being at work much next week because I'll be moving! :) Kind of a catch-22 thing,...
So, just letting you all know. I'll be back to my usual over-wordy self ASAP.
Thx for understanding,...

Hello all,
Yes, I'm still here (Sortof)
If by 'here' you mean having evacuated Louisiana again to Oklahoma!
Waiting to see when we can return, and THEN have to wait to get re-scheduled for cable/internet/phone hookup, so i'm still spotty for this week.
But dry. ;)
The move went ok, as well as expected with only one other person helping me move a house-full of furniture!
Will be back ASAP in all of my swashbuckling stupidity,... I mean GLORY!
;P
Thanks all, Laters,

Thanks all, Laters,
Wow, that's right. I'd forgotten you lived near N'Orleans. Hope you're back at home soon.

Thanks Frenchie et. al,...
Checking in,...
New House had only minor damage as best we can tell. Siding pulled off from right under the roof, (Brick house otherwise) and found a few shingles in the yard. Could be mine, could be the neighbors. Found out we are on the same grid as the hospital across the street, so power is not going to be a major concern! :)
Still have to wait till Saturday to get Cable/INet/Phone on at the house. So will be spotty till then as I only have access at work. And THAT has it's own problems!
(My pit pump stopped working, so my Orchestra Pit is a swimming pool, and the roof leaked all over my BRAND NEW cyclorama! sheesh!)
Will be back ASAP, promise!
Thanks for all the well-wishes guys and gals!

Glad to see you're making lemonade.

I had to google Cyclorama. I am guessing it is this?

LOL!
Sorry Guys! I sometimes forget that NOT everyone I know wasted their life on three college degrees in THEATRE! ;P
Yes, Wiki got it basically right, but in 'modern' theaters, the 'Cyclorama' or 'Cyc' is basically just a big sheet that you hang on the back of the stage (Sometimes white, sometimes blue or even natural beige) that you can change colors by shining lights on it. So you can make it a bright blue for a clear, sunny day, or mix in reds and yellows for a sunrise/sunset look.
And yes, I'm not big on lemonade, but it could have been MUCH worse! We'll muddle through.
Now, as long as those storms "I" & "J" stay out of the gulf,... ;P
WIll have full service restored on the home front by tomorrow, should be able to get back into the 'full swing' of things by Monday!

Heh, my mom used to have one of those things. I could NEVER understand (as a child) the purpose of pedaling and never going anywhere! Actually, I still don't understand it!
That medieval torture device can rust for all I care! ;P
Wow,...
Alright, You're gonna LUV this one!
So, since I was switching from my Apt to my new house with the Cox cable service, it seems that they consider me a 'new' client,...
GOOD- because I qualify for discounted 'new client' rates,
BAD- because due to 'Act of God' conditions, they CANCELED all 'new' install services, and didn't bother to tell me! :P
So, not only am I now (After calling them again!) on a waiting list with an UNdetermined amount of time to get my 'new' services installed,... Because they Canceled my 'old' services, I lost my phone number too!
And had to cancel the daughter's b-day party AGAIN, due to post Gustav family problems, no one was going to be able to make it. And NOW it looks like IKE may cancel it AGAIN! SO needless to say, she ain't happy either!
Somedays, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed,... ;P
So, I'll be checking in from work once daily after I get my actual work done.
Sorry guys and gals, but it's not my fault, I swear! ;)
Laters,...
PS- please don't take any of my posts as B!@#$%^&, I am actually doing pretty well all things considered. (I know it could ALWAYS be worse!) I just like kvetching, and you guys are a safe audience for my venting. Thx for letting me! :)

PU$$Y!!!
;P
I was raised in Tulsa Oklahoma, IE= 'Tornado Alley' Tornadoes don't mess with any of this mamby-pamby water damage stuff. They just pick up your house and toss it into the next county! (Or the next STATE if you live in a trailer home!)
Nah, Like i said, I just like to whine. Ike's gonna pretty much miss me now it looks like. As long as I don't lose any MORE shingles I'm ok.
But Thank you all for the well-wishes and kind comments! I can always use more of those! ;)
And since I'm feeling so particularly blessed today, I think it would behoove me to spare a couple of those prayers I'm usually saying for myself for those people on the Texas gulf coast who are about to get wet!
BTW,... Iiiii'Mmmmm BAaaaack!

Genie, efreet. Ghari can't tell the difference.
This is a great game. Thanks, FW and everyone.

TheOcho, nice of you to step in front of the chainsaw for us, but I could have been to blame also. I thought SHulim had said goodbye for us, and, "the atmosphere was over". So I was a little anxious to move on perhaps. How's about we just blame it on PbP conversational lag? In a PbP forum there will always be some amount of cross-talk and some-one posting a move-on action when other still have something to say. Everyone's got to work with it and accept the occasional retcon.
The funny thing about yours was it worked as internal dialogue, or a comment to us, as well as a comment to Firuluz.

Posting this week will be kind of sketchy for me as I am going on vacation for a week starting Saturday. I will attempt to post at night from the hotel, but that all depends on the type of internet access they have. I am kicking myself for not checking on that earlier now that I think about it. Please feel free to DMPC Fudrick if needed. This type port is a good place for Shulim and Fazaam to shine so I was planning on holding back a little because Fudrick is a little overwhelmed at all of this. When he was on the family ship his parents stuck to the better ports because of their morals. Not to mention having kids and women on the ship.
If there is in particular you need from me send me an email. It is listed in Fudrick's profile.

My broadband and me are having a few connection issues this week. I shall do my best to keep on top of this but you may need to bear with me a little.
However I am beginning to wonder if Utak will return. How would you guys feel about Yrar leaving the group, even for while. I haven't heard back from Utak in a while.
Also are you guys happy enough as a five or do you feel the need for a more permanent heavy hitter? The port is a good place for us to recruit a sixth.
Let me know what you all think.
Cheers

Funny, you should mention Utak. If he's not coming back, I would miss the big guy. I just posted with Yrar in it.
As for a heavy hitter, that partly depends on the challenges you set us. Yrar was awesome in the role and I was kind of planning on going the ranged weapon route with Ghari to complement him. (I also felt 2 weapon fighting would kind of cheat in on the swashbuckler theme Rags has going with Fazaam.) But I never had a master-plan long range build for Ghari.
Ghari, as a martially-classed "big hairy human" (as Fazaam would say) is the most likely to fill the role. I'd probably take another level of ranger, go 2wf then switch to fighter. He doesn't have the mass of a heavy hitter, but might be able to make a go of a light skirmisher, not a tank.
All that said, I'd be happy bringing in someone new as heavy melee type, or not. I'm pretty happy with the party and its the group dynamics and the "WTF is FW doing" moments, not the combats that are making the game for me.
| Ragadolf |
As Ghari said,
(Although even Fazaam, while he has delusions of swashbuckler-hood, has no compunctions about admitting that he's NO match for even a light skirmisher!)
I will miss Yrar if he can't make it back. He was great for the role! We have plenty of spell-ish power, (or will have, if Fazaam survives to match Shulim's lvl 2!) And enough of us can pretend to skirmish long enough for most fights. But if you had any encounters in mind involving big, hairy, turban-wearing, Giant Scimitar-wielding warriors,... (Oh, wait we've already HAD one of those!) I can vouch that Fazaam will miss the big meat shield,... er, I meant his large greenish friend! ;P
I'll go with the group on this one. But My theory is, we have the basics covered (Fighter-type, caster-types, sneaky-types, and a healer-type) so we're probably ok as is.
BUT, we also lack the DEDICATED 'heavy-hitters' in each dept. except sneaky. (Fighter, Wizard, Cleric) So the addition of a 'Tank' who can survive a few rounds without much help would not hurt my feelings at all!
As I said, I'll go with the group on it. I'm good either way.
(And if we decide not to add another, we will always have that spot open if Yrar ever mystically returns!)

Thanks for your opinions guys.
Just to let you all know, my son is ill and teething and the net result is I am unlikely to be posting alot. I shall try to keep things ticking over though.
Cheers
teething is tough times with a kid. You just can't get 'em quiet or satisfied. Good luck there.
Who's putting the moves on Yrar?
