Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

1 to 50 of 52 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

On December 19, Oroboro Games of Bellevue, WA will host an exclusive book signing and Q&A to celebrate the launch of Pathfinder #4. Fans of Paizo and Pathfinder will get a unique chance to talk to Erik Mona, James Jacobs, and F. Wesley Schneider about Paizo’s new home for adventure: the Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting. Erik and company will offer a sneak peek at Golarion, the world of the Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting, including a first-ever look at the world map and art from the Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer (due out this February). Bring your Pathfinder books and your questions for Erik, James, and Wes. Pathfinder #1, #3, and #4 will be available for purchase as well as the Pathfinder: Rise of the Runelords Player’s Guide. (Pathfinder #2 is sold out, though it is available in limited quantities on paizo.com.)

This sounds neat. I think I'll make the trip over.

Thing is, I don't have any books (just .pdfs). Will there be anything there NOT related to signing books? Panels, discussion groups, or anything like that? Will we be sitting around gabbing or be hussled through a book signing line?

I think we'll be doing a Q&A, and we'll definitely be showing off lots of top secret stuff. The map of Golarion, for example.

I'll see if I can't bring printouts of some sort of fancy new sketches or something or other too... maybe the covers to Pathfinder 7 or 8. If I remember...

That's it, I'm moving there!

Seriously, will we, us that live too far to attend, get to see those maps and sketches and secret stuff soon after the signing? Or should we send a ninja squad to take pictures, steal samples and make a report of what was said?

See, those are the magical words that requires people to bring along digital cameras... you know, for us poor souls who live... erm, "out of state." :-D

Man I wish I was closer, not stuck in the snow ridden rockies... CURSED SNOW RIDDEN ROCKIES!

Are you going to post an image on the blog for those of us WHO LIVE IN FRICKIN' CHINA????!?!?!?!?

...or elsewhere.

Okay I'm buying the plane ticket...who's couch do I get to crash on? Erik? James? Ah come on Wes. Pleeeeaasseee.

Hope the signing goes great for you all, and you have a blast. Guess I'll just have to hold onto my stuff to be signed again at next GenCon.

I want to go.. dang, stuck here in NY. :)

I'm very envious. If I had the means, I'd absolutely be there. I bet it will be a blast.

Alas, I must live vicariously through the Paizo blog and any other messageboard threads about it.

Yes, but only because you used 8 question marks and 4 exclamation points, Kruelaid. :-)

Kruelaid: Thanks for figuring out the exact punctuation combo required - you're my hero!

And I'll see if I can't redirect a couple of russian spy satellites there to get decent footage.

So much for my planned surprise entrance of Wolf smashing through the front windows and yelling, "OH YEEEEEAH!!!"

Damn you, Mona.

Not the right number of exclamation points and question marks. Try again later.

~ships Kruelaid a rabbit suit and a box of carrots~ Just remember to take that left toin at Abukoikee.

If I remember correctly I live just "upstairs" from you, i.e. Denmark.

That's what I meant by "out of state." :-)

Erik Mona wrote:

You'd be surprised what a couple thousand miles and a great big ocean can do to your plans of "just dropping by" :( (;-P)

I'm from Saarland, which is soutwest Germany, so it's not quite "just upstairs", but close enough (I'm a Saarländer first, German a distant second. I might even go as far as call myself an European before calling myself a German. It's just the country I live in. But Saarländer: That's a way of life. A destiny. A high and noble calling. An excuse to eat Schwenker ;-))

Oops. I just went to write this event in on the calendar but had trouble fitting it in around the words "wife's birthday" that were already written there.

Ironically, I live an hour and a half away from this shop.

If you write real small, I bet you can fit in "celebrate wife's birthday at Oroboro Games."

Which proves your claim! I have to know it, cause I'm from Saarland, too (from Sankt Wendel, to be exact). So where are you from, if I may ask?

And, yeah, this little ocean between europe and the U.S. of A. is sometimes a bit of an annoyance.

Bergweiler bei Tholey! I only live about 15km away, buddy! Got WND on the plate and everything.

The world's a small place.

I thought I was the only Saarländer here!

In fact, I know from Krashyn, who used to visit the boards until a year ago, that he comes from Saarbrücken. That makes three of us (at least it made).

And right until now, I didn't even know that there are roleplayers around here in the region. Kinda funny that you have to visit an american board to learn such great news. Which is one of the reasons I love Paizo so much. :)

We're a crowd! Time to ask Paizo to give us our own avatar :D (I'd even have some with our coat-of-arms)

Well, the guys I play with are from around Birkenfeld - I had players from the villages around here, but I quit that group when more games were cancelled because of WoW than were taking place (and during those games, 1/4 to 1/2 of the time was wasted with the two WoW fanatics talking about teir game. And since those two were the DMs in that group, we couldn't just ignore them and play on).

Ha. I told her about your offer to host her birthday party, but she's just not geek enough to go for it.

She did, however, give me permission to go anyways, but we both agreed that if I showed up without her after publicly announcing it was her birthday, y'all would never let me hear the end of it.

No, no, Fletch. See, have her come over to Bellevue, go out to dinner beforehand (a nice birthday dinner!), and then have her drop you off at Oroboros, and then SHE can go to Crossroads or Bellevue Square and shop!

It's all about OPTIONS....

BTW, I'll be going...that's like 10 minutes away from me. I didn't know they had a store in Bellevue, though. The one in Redmond closed down.

I got a great Idea...

Set up another Book Signing to support the troops!! (Lots o' D&D players in the US Military), Come here to germany!! And I can work it out with the Book Store on base to set it up for you guys!!

My Wife works for an airline company so maybe I can get you guys some cheap tickets to Germany.

My Wife works for the DV Hotel on base hmmm.. maybe I can get you guys a room there (Yes same Wife :-p)

I will have it advertised in the Local Community Military Paper so all the RPG players here in the area know your coming!!.

Or

I can just try to make it to ones in the states..

Dragnmoon wrote:

Hell yeah there are! Great way to meet new folks and break the ice, especially when you're a military brat at a new base.

Yeah, you should totally support the guys in the army! Come on, they defend you here against.... what is it they're for in Germany again? Something a couple of decades old, with most people involved dead or senile? Doesn't matter, they're in high tension positions there! Go support them. I suggest the Baumholder base. Crueling, that, they're dying for some entertainment from home.

And no, the fact that I can easily go there in under one hour doesn't have anything to do with it. Honest. :D

I Suggest Ramstein... Much!! larger population..

Hey.... It may not be that dangerous here... But Allot do get sent where the danger is.

Dragnmoon wrote:

As I understand, Ramstein is the biggest military base outside of the U.S. and has the biggest military hospital in Europe. I can imagine that it is quite important to have such a base in a not so dangerous region (a fact that we owe largely to our american friends). This said I happened to know some very friendly people who were sent to danger in the first Iraq war, so I know what you mean.

Besides, Ramstein does just as good for me as Baumholder does. The "under an hour" argument holds in both cases. :)

Just a reminder that today, is the day! Come one, come all, to talk Pathfinder or just hang out at Oroboro Games. This is our first signing event, and most likely there will be more if everyone turns out for it! Hope to see you there!

That's two posts you've made, Carolyn. We need to get you addicted to the boards so you can build up your post count like the rest of us. ;D

Shall I give her the special tea boss?

Hmm... an excellent idea.

Such a good ninja minion.

*sips sake*

Can I get some tea, too? Or sake? Or both? I'm stuck with cherry coke and red mead here (not that I'm complaining too much. All hail Cherry)
