The quickest way into the mekillot may be the mouth. MalaKi is already considering this.
Two questions: 1) What game mechanics would be involved? An attack roll to jump into the mouth and an escape artist check to squirm down the throat before being bitten? 2) Is the mekillot full of elves? Well-rested, fully armed and armored elves? If so; EGADS!
IF someone can get in there and open the door we all may be able to jump in. What better place to rest for eight hours or so? :D

If that thing can do more that 48 (ED: sorry 58, with rage and the die hard feat) hits of damage to me in one round I'm f~$~ed. Right now Aso is standing straight in front of it and shouting at it, cuz I reckon I'm the only one who can take a few rounds of damage from it. BUt I sure hope you guys dish out some hurt, cuz I ain't gonna last long.

If you would be kind enough to figure out the DC for jumping inside and finding a nice improvised weapon, should that be possible, I would really appreciate it
I see no reason why a full round action with a decent climb or jump check wouldn't be sufficient (note that this is quite likely to provoke an AoO). It's almost empty inside with the howdah ripped away, but I bet there is some debris rattling about.
Does no spell components mean no holy symbol?
Yes, but I fudged it over for you.
I get just one claw or bite attack right?
As near as I can tell, flying only claws (2), and grounded two claws and a bite, but I have no problem thematically with you using whatever part you like if you use the same damage modifier.
Would the characters have any knowledge of how being undead would affect it's HP?(less, more?!?) And which Knowledge skill would that be if you let us check? And how is it (WAS it), controlled?
Probably knowledge nature, arcana, or with a stretch..dungeuneering (it's less, just fyi, it loses the whopping con mod, even if it was bumped to d12)
Also, since I have Endurance as well, I presume that I am only fatigued?
That's correct, sorry about that. I modified your initiaitive this coming round to reflect the change.
It seems that, in a world like Dark Sun, Eschew Materials would practically be necessary for a caster.
Sounds like a good plan, although you could defile your heart out instead if you liked! :)
I have a stylish 310 KB Christmas present for you. Give me your e-mail if you want it.
Actually, I've been meaning to give out my addy in case anyone needs me for something if I drop off the earth or the boards are out. You can reach me at my board username at gmail dot com (don't type my board username, sillies).

Today, you are the entertainment Shiny.
DOn't feel bad. I want my blood obsidian halfling greatsword and my Mekillot bone armor... Oh wait, Aso has never owned anything.
Thanks for the maps, by the way. Can't wait to use them.
np. That's my meditation activity: I recently put my GH campaign on hiatus and started RotRL so I've no need to make them, just the desire.
And it's scary that now that I've made a template in adobe illustrator, I can change the map in a few minutes.... If I make something that looks cool I'll send it to you. If any of the other pbp DMs are interested go ahead and share them.

Aso reminds me of the craziest kids I've ever heard of in grade school. Kids that ultimately had to be removed for "mental health reasons" and sent someplace where paper comes in circles and scissors are too blunt to cause any possible harm. I mean, I was scared to death of them and certain that their backpacks contained nothing but two textbooks and a small gathering of roaches but they were so entertaining because they just said the most insane things. The kids that had their own "helper" adult to keep them from slitting someone's throat in class, until they tortured too many animals or pulled out their wangers too many times and the "helper" just had to quit.
"Now I'm in a class with arsonists and kids with mittens pinned to their jackets all year round!" -Simpsons quote that very much describes the current campaign.

I'm all for it if it fits your character concept and isn't just to be silly. :)
You guys have this thing on the ropes now. Surrounded and almost done for!
Can't wait to break out the Critical Hit Deck when I get home. Woot! The good news is, I don't want anyone really dying in this first fight (yeah, I know, I'm a softie), and the Mek stat's don't actually say what crit multiplier it is, so I'm only going to use x2 (meaning the second die is going towards the deck), even though personally it should be significantly higher (but hey, it's undead now, so it's probably weaker, right?).
Don't go thinking I'm a nice guy though...

Kruelaid |

I don't find the crit deck to be any more lethal if there is backup, which we have a lot of. I've been using it since it came out, and all it's done is foiled a few players plans for heroism by putting them in compromising positions. I'm not complainin', but it most often messes up the meat shields like Aso, who find themselves with broken jaws, x rounds stunned or whatnot because they are soaking up the hits--personally, that's just more fun for my own roleplaying. Conversely, it's a really big laugh for the players when a whack o' heroes are chopping away at a BBEG and he gets a debilitating injury right off the bat. I had a wimpy little halfling thief render a virtual juggernaut helpless just a few weeks ago and it made the player's day.

Lol. No worries, they get a full 24 hours. This thread just cooks...
As a side note, I think I've accomplished what I set out to do with this encounter. Nice to see everyone starting to get a feel for things their character can do, see what the other character can do, get used to maybe working together, and use some rules that needed dust blown off of them.
Not too shabby, everyone should be proud. A little shaky on my part due to covering for the guy at work breaking his arm, but otherwise not off to a bad start!
I like this new map so much, I may make some little miniatures for it, rofl.

Ragadolf |

I haven't seen the Crit Deck. Is it any good? Am I understanding you right? If you confirm a crit, instead of extra damage, you draw a card which has a condition on it, like 'broken jaw, stunned for X rounds' or similar?
Sounds cool, I like anything if it promotes the ROLE playing part, (Preventing, or at least prolonging instant death from extra damage to my character is cool too!)

There are some sample cards here.
Just waiting on Illyen now.

There were 12 of you, and it hit really hard. I started it out beat up so you could get comfortable in your new skins. :)
THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU,......
Er,... Um,... I mean, That is to say,... We appreciate your consideration.Especially considering your reputation for allowing characters to throw themselves into situations they shouldn't have, and watching them climb out of it, or swim out of it, or burn their way out,... (Yes, I've been lurking one of your other threads!)
:D
