The speed comparison thing really depends on where in continuity (if you can call it that for LoSH sheesh what a mess.) your putting things. Basically I'd have things set at travel and tactical speeds with the cruisers travel speed being faster and Supes tac speed being quicker.

By tactical speed do you mean in combat? Do you mean maneuverability in combat? If that is what you thinking, I agree. Superboy's maneuverability is going to far exceed any spacecraft, kinda like a swallow and and eagle in comparison.
As far as continuity goes, I'm working more with the 1970's concept of what the Legion comics were. I will draw some of the better ideas that show up later on in both the original series and reboots but that is primarily to flesh the universe out better. There will end up being a slight blur in what is accepted and what isn't primarly because the 1970's version was less developed (I think), therefore I felt I would draw inspiration from other Legion eras.
A good example would be the healing tanks (not sure what they are actually called) which recently showed in the current comic. It would make a great addition but I would limit it more than it appears because it would be in the "developmental stage" due to the fact that it never appeared in the 1970's. Other aspects of continuity which would be more restricted would be the order of members joining.

well we all agree; looks like a quarem :)

whoah; was I in an alternate dimension; Healing Tanks; I had a vision of a suped up M1 Abrams shooting on the battlefield and peoples parts all flying back together and getting back up from being dead; kinds like reverse cinamatography; whoah; then I said; what; thats nuts; then got to ah; tanks; you mean vats of protoculture to restore limbs and heal; hehe

Sigh! To much testosterone! Or maybe you just ate to many wheaties this morning! Perhaps your in need of some Count Chocula to settle you down!

EileenProphetofIstus |

well; as we can altar our size pretty much at will; I figure I have enough for whatever job comes my way; add a few magical enhancements and I put the SUPER in super hero :)
Too funny! Make sure you wear a cape. All women like a guy with a cape on. Boots are optional! So are you saying you would super-size it?

EileenProphetofIstus |

capes are places you visit when you want to eat lobster; real men wear cloaks....helps when doing cloak and dagger type stuff; nobody does cape and dagger stuff; more like cape and clam knife :)
Cloak and Dagger was a Marvel comic. Don't know if it is still around. I never heard anyone in a superhero comic refer to their cloak. But then again, I haven't read every comic out there. Ok, Valegrim if you want a cloak you can have one, though I think you should find an avatar that has a cloak now.

Can superhero women wear capes or do they have to wear cloaks as well? What is the proper ettiqiette on this issue? Is their a resource we can consult that details out the proper attire for super heroes? Is this information in the comics code? Wow, these heated discussions are trying. Do we need a moderator to carry on this discussion? At least we are not name calling yet. If we choose to, when is the proper time to start those sort of remarks? I wouldn't want to violate any sort of unwritten posting code. Wow, never have I seen such a debate with such strong opinions in the Legion thread before. I hope we don't get closed down.

Woman can wear what they want or not wear as the case may be; as for my avatar; well; I am standing on my cloak to stay out of the muck :)
come to think of it; girlies look pretty cute in capes; that Emma Peel from the Avenger used to wear one; whew; nice. Little red riding hood wore one; bet if you put on a little red one; your Heathy problems would magnify; think its in the breed hehe.
Now; there probably is a dress code for Golden Age heroes; but current times they wear stuff that even makes me blush; and I am red :)
hehe we dont need any monitor; hehe; its all in fun; no worries; oh; by the way; I have a lot of Cloak and Dagger comics
am thinking your poking fun in a sarcastic way at other threads; if you are; I agree and am right there with you.

Shadow Lass in a cloak, (and not a whole lot else...).
Triplicate Girl(s) in a cape.
Either seems to be allowed.
I'm partial to cloaks. Capes, a la Robin or Thunder or Captain Marvel or Power Girl, just look kinda swishy compared to billowing cloaks, like Batman or Spawn or Cloak or Batwoman.

I live in an economically challenged, small town (pop. 5000 or so). I just found an antique store which sold a small collection of comics. Here's what I found:
Adventure Comics:
#314, The Super Villains of All Ages!
#346, The Traitors Triumph!
#361, The Unkillables!
#357, The Ghost of Ferro Lad!
#372, School for Super-Villains!
#374, Mission Diabolical!
#379, Burial In Space!
Action Comics:
#379, One Of Us Is An Imposter!
#380, Half a Legionnaire?
#383, Chamelegon Boy's Secret Identity!
#384, Lament For A Legionnaire!
#387, One Hero to Many!
#386, Zap Goes the Legion!
#392, The Legionnaires Who Never Were!
Price: $40 total! Condition, good enough to own, but not good enough to sell for money. Just to have them made it worth it.
Most of these comics are older than me! That's a good thing!
OMG!

Very, VERY nice. Congrats. I just got a whole boatload of old dungeon and dragon mags today, myself. I loved the Dungeon parody/enquirer covers, I wanted them to do more of those.

Thank you and congratulations yourself.
Ok, today we are talking about racial/species abilities for the Legion game. So, there I am working on rules for Legionnaire creation when I get to the point of having to develop races for the PCs to choose from. Now since this is a Legion of Super-Hereoes game it wouldn't do to just make up a bunch of aliens and call it good. Why? Well, because the Legion is already full of alien species.
I took a look at what I want to do and decided that I am having organization problems, so I said to myself.......Self....you need to turn to the Super-Hero experts and Legion fans of Paizo. So, here I am.
Here's what I want to do....I want to list countless races throughout the galaxy taking from the comics and applying qualities to them that are represented in the comics. A quality is anything tangible about a given race, such as an in born power, the fact that Durlans have antennas and are xenophobic, if your from Colu you have green skin, if your from Cargg you get three bodies....that sort of thing.
Now, one of the books I'm entitling Encyclopedia Galactica will have all of the race/planet information in it. It suppose to be a comprehensive game master's guide like the DMG is. However, the Legionnaire Commlink Rules book is where the character creation rules, combat rules, etc. will be. Now it makes sense that the equivelant of the Players Handbook offers something for PCs to choose from, so I was going to do a shortened version of the planets and races and put a comprehensive version in the other book.
Here's the problem.....to many planets even for a short write up (in my opinion anyway). The very basic information I thought about including was like this below. Can you give me a better approach which doesn't eat as much space up or a different suggestion all together? If you (as a player or game master) like the format below, even though I think their will be 30-40 entries, please tell me why so I can feel good about continuing and making it so lengthy. If you think it should be different, tell me why give me an example of what you would do so I can evaluate the situation better.
Another problem is that many of the places are going to have minimal information available so a given amount of assumptions on my part would have to be made. For example, it may not actually describe what the planet is like from a climate or geographical idea. I don't mind adding to the missing information and as the comics continue, correct any screw ups I will have. But still, its something to consider. I also don't want to just list the worlds the actual Legionnaires are from because players will be creating their own Heroes as well and therefore should have the option of being from other planets the comics provide as well as creating their own planet. I have one player who already has created a planet for her character, it is a recolonized sphere from the planet Thar (which is where Polar Boy is from). I posted our created planet information after this post.

This is what my daughter and I came up with as a brief write up for a world we made up.
Anathall
Affiliation: United Planets
Famous Natives: Ice Empress (Crystala Anathene);
Native Abilities: Cold Generation
History: In the year 2432 various military officials of Tharr became increasingly angry with the current governmental rule of their planet. With the desire to establish greater military force and to sufficiently protect their world, the desire to colonize the planet surface was strongly pushed by these individuals, led by General Anathene. Considerable military research allowed the possibility of dwelling on the surface safely. When presented to the government however, General Anathene’s proposal and military research efforts were denied. Seeking to remove him from the military authority, various Governmental officials attempted to assassinate the General. With an extremely strong military grasp General Anathene and along with his second in command, General Kalapos successfully divided the military into two forces, one serving Tharr, the other, serving him. Civil war quickly broke out which lasted for 5 years. The military forces of General Anathene were dominating the Tharr military in the later part of the 4th year. As victory was looking to be certain, General Kalapos had established a treaty with the Dominators. The treaty would allow them to take over the planet. Faced with a mutual enemy, the forces of Tharr and those of General Anathene needed to fight together to eliminate this threat. The renewed circumstances created an uneasy truce between the two once the Dominators were eliminated. As an agreement between the two forces, a frozen sphere was populated by the General’s followers while Tharr financed the colonization. After one hundred years of truce, Tharr began to exercise its political power over Anathall and as a result Anathall pulled itself further and further away from its parent planet. The current situation is now very tense and bordering outright war.

is the stuff I sent you any good for planet make up; do you need more planet stuff; I think I had a lot I didnt send but dont remember.
What I received was data such as star size, number of satellites, orbiting radius, circumference, density, planet surface, gravity, surface temperture, a record sheet for keeping data planet, and a map I'm unsure of.
I think I would use quite a bit of this information eventually. Such detail would go into serious write ups of planets and not just a fluffy description which I would put in the Encyclopedia Galactica book I am slowly starting to compile information for.
Right now I'm looking at the following books......
1. Legionnaire Commlink Rules (Players Guide)
2. Encyclopedia Galactica (Book on galaxy, planets, races, equipment, etc.
Honestly, I can't imagine what other information you have stored away. I am not overly knowledgable about astronomy so my imagination is a bit limited.

EileenProphetofIstus |

well; at least your cute and friendly; so that counts for something :) though I seriously doubt you are lacking in imagination :)
did I send you anything on technology levels?
I don't think so. I couldn't find anything on technology levels. I think I saw something like that in a Gurps book once though. I think what you sent was from the Traveller game, pages 4-10 (no idea what book), and a two page map (pages 68-69).

Regretfully for you, Legionares is spelled "Legionnaires" which means that the entire Legion is still alive. Your aim is as bad as your spelling! Perhaps you could get a new job as a super minion instead of super villain.

EileenProphetofIstus |

no, I mean "accidental death and disintegration" insurance.
Real villains don't "ACCIDENTLY" get their minions dead and disintegrated, it is always intentional because they are expendable. However, if you want I'm sure a villain will be happy to tell you that such a policy is available if you really think it is wise to believe a super villain. I suppose you could get a lawyer and have it written into a contract, but I'm not so sure that enforcing it would be easy.
Now if you were a member of the Legion there would be the possibility of cloning after death...does that sound at all appealing to you? Also I have an area of expertise for cryogenic freezing. It might be possible to transfer you personality to another at the moment of death if you'd like to go that route. Many options are available in the 30th century.
