On behalf of the Pathfinder staff, I sincerely hope so. :)
If WAR was only on the Pathfinder covers, I'd be cool with that, but his work is popping up all over the place. Just so's you know.

But I loved his work in the Osprey books as well. Kawankajima--the countercharge--is an amazing piece of art.

He did work in their Templars book as well.

Golarion's white dragons look significantly cooler than the standard version.
This is most certainly not accidental - expect to see Paizo redesigns of all the classic dragon types. :)

thank you

I'm getting that way. He's -everywhere-.

In re: this particular piece: nice dragon, yes, nice mountains, yes. The humanoids in the pic ... uh ... not so hot.

Plus sorcerer-babe needs to put on a cloak. It's cold out there.

I thought she was wearing a cloak she just wasn't using it properly.

Have to agree with John Robey that the iconics in this picture aren't as detailed as they usually are. Having said that, that dragon looks truly amazing. I also really like the carved ston giant faces behind the party. Can't wait to see what you guys at paizo are going to do with the Dragons in pathfinder.

Also thought that the way it was so wide was a bit weird but I guess when they put the figure on the left hand side for the cover it will look a bit less odd.

Hell, I swear the rumors about Page 18 are gonna get me to buy Gallery of Evil. Heh.

As one Seoni fanboy to another, the rumors are true. ;)

I definitely am not WAR'ed out yet - and given the huge gap in quality between his work and that of most other artists regularly employed nowadays by WotC, MGP, FFG etc. that isn't a bad thing.... (especially given my distinct impression that WAR's art has been for the last year almost the sole interesting factor about Eberron products anyway ).

To my mind, superior artwork really helps to invoke /set the spirit of a setting or adventure... and WAR's stuff usually shifts my mental gears up at least one step, hehe

And as for the piece itself.... niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice ! Ther are far too few good scenarios set in deep frost locatiosn recently so this .... loks very promising !

I could be mistaken, but isn't it WAR on the covers of the 4th edition core books?

But heck yeah, I'm enjoying his work.

Yes, he is.

Ah ha! See, more War loving. In 10 years, War's contributions to D&D will be looked on fondly by all as much as the classics from AD&D. :)

I guess it's good that I'm in the minority then. Grumble grumble.

I just think the guy does so many jobs in the industry that it's a shame other illustrators aren't getting a crack at a nice regular gig like this. We kind of know what to expect from Wayne at this point; I don't really think he has anything new to show us, whereas some of the guys that have done particularly great GameMastery Module covers could work really well and could likely use the consistent paycheck. The fans have spoken, though. Guess I'll just have to enjoy the eclectic interior stuff in the mean time.

As far as the characters in this illo... keep in mind that the picture you see is reduced quite a bit when we put it on the cover, so that it's just under a half page in size. They'll look plenty detailed on the final product.

And Seoni certainly has access to endure elements. She can dress however she wants!

And when can I see your take on the True lords of Chromatic Dragons, the blues?

Well, you're going to see the *heads* of a lot of different dragons fairly soon, and you might see the skeletons of a bunch not long after that...

Umm... I think you're operating under a misconception. All of our illustrators are so busy with work from us and WotC that Sarah and Drew are struggling to get canvas time from some of them.

First thing I did was zoom out on the picture when I saw it and relaxed. People tend to forget high quality digital images look poopy when you're looking at them in their native resolution at a 1:1 scale. :)

Not only that, but even though Seoni's tattoos are feats in D&D, depending on the rule system you use or house rules or whatever, she wouldn't be able to cover them up in a lot of games and still have them active because they'd use an "item slot" on her body. Though I guess that really doesn't apply to D&D. *shrugs* Everyone should have Endure Elements. :)

I apologize. In school, we are trained to believe that art directors get so many submissions in a given day that they literally have a million other artists to choose from, including their regulars and that any gig could be the last for a while. Good to hear everyone's busy, then.

No worries. Our industry is a little weird, I guess. :)

You must meet my friend Martin. He's got favoured enemy (Wayne Reynolds).
