K:Local: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
K:History: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
The Bardic Detective rifles through his mental 'Castle of Memories' trying to find an note about how to stop a boat without resorting to catapults or other siege weapons. But can't remember anything on the spur of the moment.
"MAster Faelaiin! Take out the pilot! Wind is North by North West, Range 60 cubits!" Edwin shouts in rythmic, chanting tones, imparting his uncanny ability to inspire the best performance in others.
Using Inspire Competence +2, Giving the bounty hunter +2 for any skill checks he can make to make his job easier, I don't think it counts for combat rolls, but Perception, or any other useful skill it will help! :)

Sorry guys. That's pretty much what I'm thinking anyway. Alinya's got a bunch of support and debuff things she can do, but with no clear enemy in sight I'm not sure what will be most helpful.
Alinya shelters behind her companions, and readies a spell of blindness for the enemy mage if she shows her face.
Ready blindness/deafness.

Firstly,.....there's quite a rowe in the back cabin of the boat.
Those elementals are fighting for their lives at least.
Then,
a big half orc emerges on top of the cabin.
He pops an arrow at Aethor.
It's not a good roll. It thunks into a large pillar of wood next to the elven slayer.
"That's just a warning," the half orc says, nocking another black shafted arrow.
Finally,
N'kai and Aethor make a dc 19 wil save. If you fail, every round roll a percentile die;
01-25 Acts normally
26-50 Does nothing but babble incoherently
51-75 Deals 1d8 points of damage + Str modifier to self with item in hand
76-100 Attacks nearest creature (for this purpose, a familiar counts as part of the subject's self)
Also, the ship moves 5 feet further from the dock.
Group's turn!!!

I got a 19 on my d100 so should be able act normally... I count 6 squares to the porthole square... Just within PBS. Move to u14

Will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 and make that a 26 if it´s an Enchantment effect. Don´t count me out just yet... ;D
Can I see the arrow-toting pilot from where I´m standing?? Is there a way up to the castle of the ship?

I don't know if this will actually work, but it was fun when I thought of it, so here goes! :)

Edwin's head snaps around so swiftly you can hear the 'crack'. He peers at the dark port of the rear cabin with intensity bordering on fury.
"Like Hades you do." He snarls calmly. Deceptively calmly.
Ed then begins sing-song chanting in a loud, clear voice.
Performance: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
"Chip the glasses and crack the plates!
Blunt the knives and bend the forks!
That's what every Halfing hates--
Smash the bottles and burn the corks!
Cut the cloth and tread on the fat!
Pour the milk on the pantry floor!
Leave the bones on the bedroom mat!
Splash the wine on every door!
Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl;
Pound them up with a thumping pole;
And when you've finished, if any are whole,
Send them down the hall to roll!
That's what every Halfling hates!
So, carefully! carefully with the plates!"
"If THAT doesn't throw them off their ' Me wolf, me eat' chant, nothing will!" Ed says smugly.
I'm tired. That was my currently best attempt to use Countersong. :P

I have to re-read it, but I thought bard's Countersong ability (one use of bardic Song for the day) was sort of like 'Counterspell' but for abilities with sonic effects? Either way, Detective trades the combat song bonuses for the OUT of combat bonuses. ;P Although they might get +2 to a skill check of their choice (another ability I do have)

Sadly a +3 to my save is only 18 and not 19... could I take that + to the arrow going through the porthole earlier or does the song happen later? Hoping for that dispel magic but that said, there is very little for anyone to go off to justify the spell being cast - can I take the + 3 as a bonus the d100 roll? Moving the 'act as normal' range to 1-28 if he maintains the song?
Rolling for next round so that the GM can take me over if need be...

He then proceeds to climb to the top of the cabin, looking for the helm of the ship to stop it from further moving away from the docks.
Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
That should be enough to climb and get at least to I16.
Swift action to enhance the Scimitar to +3.
"So you like shooting people" he tauts the half-orc. "Let´s see if you like to be on the receiving end..."
