Oh GOD YES! I was never much of a Tears for Fears fan (in fact, as a kid I hated them, though I do like them kinda now) but Gary Jules cover of Mad World (I first heard it in the movie Donnie Darko) is so freaking amazing!
Avril Lavigne
Always loved Avril, but this is one of my all time favorites of her songs, plus the video is just hilarious... with a bearshark, "Winnie Cooper," a buzzsaw bladed guitar, and a bonus Billy Zane cameo!

Okay, time for another national anthem!
Majulah Singapura (Singaporean National Anthem)
Zubir Said
My father used to go on the occasional business trip to Singapore. He evidently didn't have as much fun there as one of his co-workers, who had the nerve to go into a shop there and ask for gum. The shopkeeper's response was to freeze for a moment, look in all directions for anyone else, then duck under the counter to a locked cupboard where they kept it.

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

The Man on the Silver Mountain, the Stargazer, the Master of the Moon, Mister Ronnie James Dio shuffled off his mortal coil. He and Bruce Dickinson completely represent what I love in metal vocals. Sure, sometimes the lyrics are kinda DnD-parody-ish, but the power and delivery given by Dio was magic to me. I wore a black armband the day he died (and will again when the boys from Maiden pass on as well).
