Just as you thought you were in the clear, life sneaks up and backstabs you again! SNEAK ATTACK!
I'm seriously contemplating whether bowing out of the game wouldn't be the most fair thing to do, even though I've enjoyed it so far. Just as I was getting better from my ear infection... I get one in my OTHER ear!
How's that for bad luck?
Also, life has reared its ugly head in other areas that are going to be demanding a lot of my attention for the next couple of weeks. I have to appeal a decision made by the city not to fully fund some counseling I need and that can be an uphill battle for sure (and a loooong one too).
So, it's up to you Sean what to do. :-)

Kharid Thunderrune is a very interesting character. IF you decide to bow out and IF it is OK with the DM, I would be interested in playing him. IF that would be acceptable; perhaps at later time you might want to play Kharid again. I would have no problem handing the character back to its creator.
I'm trying to not sound pushy because I am not pushy. I'm just offering up a suggestion. In all fairness pat512 is next in pecking order.

Hey. Still here. Work is eatingme, but it will ease up by the weekend. I'm fine with that, but let's wait until I get a free moment to make it official.

I had to take my wife to the hospital. It looks like she'll probably only be there over the weekend, but my intent to put in a bunch of post over this weekend has been derailed.

Hope she's going to be OK!
I'm fine with ManPig's suggestion and really appreciate the offer of having the option of reclaiming Kharid down the line if things work out that way.
It is, of course, all up to Sean.

Hey guys,
Thanks so very much for your well wishes, and for your patience during all this. My wife is home from the hospital, and doing okay, but work is still eating me. This job has taken longer than we thought it would, and is unbelievably exhausting, but we *have* to be finished by Friday morning, so I will be returning to the game soon (provided everyone is still interested in continuing).
Anyway, thanks again for your understanding.

I think a certain amount of downtime is expected in an online game as real life issues crop up. Players can sometimes get by during busy times with short "I do what he said" posts, but the DM really needs to put an effort in each time. I'm sure that's difficult when life is throwing some curveballs. Take care of things at home and work first, and continue the game when you can. I'll keep checking periodically for updates.

I'M BAAAAAAAACK
Hey gang. The Job That Ate My Life is over, I'm back from visiting family-in-law, and life is more or less returning to normal. Give me a day to pull all my notes together and what not, but we shall be resuming play shortly.
Also, we should finalize the discussion on Man Pig taking over play of Kharid from GentleGiant.
Anyway, everybody chime in and let me know you're around and still interested, and let's get this great game back on track.
Good to "see" you all,
Sean

Awfully busy at the moment... but I'll keep an eye on this thread... it should be easier for me to participate again after Xmas...
I'm still here, but I'm starting to lose faith...I'll keep checking in when I think of it, but I'm not active on paizo.com so that will only happen once a week or so. An update on whether things will eventually resume would be helpful

Hi all.
Yeah, not dead, but the wife came close. I'm really sorry that I just kind of vanished immediately after announcing my return, but the last month went surprisingly shitty. Everything is better now, the wife is out of the hospital finally, and feeling a million times better. The other family crises that occurred in the past couple of weeks are over, and I am now actually back and ready to run again.
Yes, it was that crazy.

Wow... I had no idea that your wife was so unwell. Glad to hear she's out of the hospital and feeling much better, in time for the holidays. What better gift can one ask for than good health?
Happy to hear that everything else has sorted itself out, as well.
So any way, I'm ready to go when you are, but no hurry... you're ready when you're ready, and there clearly are more important things in life than a PbP.
Happy holidays to you and yours...

Thanks, guys.
Okay, just to recap here (and then later, I will put a post in the play thread), I believe, we've more or less left it so that everybody is now down at the bottom of the elevator, and Rend is looking to get everybody to help him move the large block of stone blocking the hallway down there.
I'll work up a post to reset the scene down there, and we'll get the game moving again as everybody checks in and sees that we're back at the "table".
Man-Pig, you have looked over the stats for Kharid, yes? Can you put together an alias for Kharid, or have you done so already?

90% done.

This will be ManPig’s version of Karrid Thunderrune. I went with the one “r” spelling of Thunderune to provide a little distinction. Any word from Gentle Giant on how his RL time eaters are going?
Some things have been sorted out (although not exactly to my satisfaction), while other things have cropped up.
So, feel free to move forward with the game and Kharid. :-)Sean, Minister of KtSP |
Sorry, Jonventus! No harm no foul. I figured you'd turn up eventually.
We haven't gotten all that far, so no biggie.
Dalzig Berenbiddle |
Waahh! You forgot me in the init list. Granted, my modifier of -6 and the fact that I always roll low... I might as well always go last. :)
Also, are my dancing lights still around? The spell lasts...1 minute... so it'd be nice for them to stick around for the fight against "???." And hopefully "???" isn't a WoW reference, or we are screwed. Heh.

I'm not sure what to suggest about images. Most PbP sites allow images to be uploaded directly into the thread. I'm pretty sure ENWorld does that, and I played in a game on www.rpol.net not too long ago that allowed full-scale scanned images like region maps to be included as a post. I suppose you could run a sister game on another site just to host the images. Or you could make a facebook photo album, but I'm trying really hard not to get sucked into that quagmire...
Sean, Minister of KtSP |
Actually, it seems that Photobucket might work. Plus, I've managed to get my hand drawn map jpg down to a more manageable size.
I'll post a map, the results of Rend's attack on the unknown thing, and generally get the game moving again in a few hours. I have to run out the door right now and deliver a bunch of speakers to storage. Won't be more than a couple of hours.

Hey Harlon, replied here just so the IC thread doesn't get bogged down in OOC. I'm in Montreal. We get a lot of snow, and it gets cold, but I'm sure it's not as bad as Calgary. I guess I'm just not looking forward to the really cold days after spending last winter in Philadelphia...I'm going to try and get through without boots or a winter jacket. Wish me luck!

I was born in Montreal, and I'd generally say that even though the mercury tends to dip lower in Calgary in winter, Montreal's humidity makes winters there feel far worse than a dry prairie winter... plus, Calgary has warm chinook winds that blow in from the west, so it rarely ever gets really cold around here...

Concerning picture hosting, if interested I have more than 700 Mb available on my homepage/server and plenty of bandwidth. Just say the word and I'll host them. :-)
Thanks, GG! I've got photobucket worked out, so that should work for now, I guess. Still, let's talk.
My email is sean (dot) kozma (at) gmail (dot) com.
That's open to everybody in the game, by the way.

Hey Joventus, just wanted to let you know that Shamus' hostility and irritation at Rend are just RPing. Nothing personal about it, I like Rend as a character and I hope you don't take it the wrong way. If its too much I'll tone it down.
The role playing in this game is great. I very much enjoy seeing the personality of ya'lls characters come out. Thank you Arctaris for taking the initiative on the "better safe than sorry" route. A game is only fun if everybody is having a good time.
